(UNION, NJ) -- The Kean Department of Theatre presents References to Salvador Dalí Make Me Hot from October 9-17, 2026 in the Bauer Boucher Theatre Center. Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Theater & Music Theater presents "Quite Contrary". (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Theater and Music Theater at Princeton University presents Quite Contrary, a gothic fantasy re-imagining of the life of Mary Shelley and the ghosts that haunted the creation of her legendary novel, Frankenstein. The new play is written by senior Marlie Kass and is directed by sophomore Nora Glass. The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents "Hamlet". (MADISON, NJ) -- The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) presents William Shakespeare's Hamlet from October 10 to November 15, 2026 at the F. M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre on the campus of Drew University. Few plays have so completely captured the human imagination as Hamlet. The Players Guild of Leonia to hold auditions for "Steel Magnolias". (LEONIA, NJ) -- The Players Guild of Leonia will hold auditions for Steel Magnolias on Sunday, October 11 from 6:00pm–8:00pm and Monday, October 12, 2026 from 7:00pm–9:00pm. Absolutely unique and utterly original, this fearless, powerful company reigns from France, Algeria, and beyond. Combining contemporary and urban dance movements, capoeira, and martial arts with powerful imagery and inspired choreography, the dancers defy gravity. Inspired by Algerian author Yasmina Khadra’s novel, What The Day Owes To The Night traces Koubi’s own personal lineage as a French-Algerian choreographer. After learning about his family’s Algerian roots, Koubi returned to the country of his ancestors to collaborate with streetdance performers from across the Mediterranean basin. What emerged is “a creation of poetic beauty” (The New York Times), a meditative yet strikingly athletic work about the ties that bind us.
