(EDISON, NJ) -- Middlesex County invites children and families to go on a journey of cuisine and friendship at the 2026 Plays-in-the-Park annual indoor fall children's show, Curious George: The Golden Meatball. From October 10 through October 24, the musical will run on Saturdays and Sundays at the Stephen J. Capestro Theatre in Roosevelt Park in Edison.
All You-Can-Eat Meatball Day comes just once a year, and George has been waiting all month for that day! But when Meatball Day comes and George's friend, Chef Pisghetti, vows to cook no more, George goes on a mission to enter the Chef's meatballs in the world-famous Golden Meatball Contest in Rome. With every swing and flip, George takes the audience through a fun-filled adventure, in which he learns more about Rome, meatballs, and the secret ingredient to cooking!
There are two matinees each day of performance, at 1:00pm and 4:00pm. The doors will open half an hour before both performances. After the show, actors will greet the children and sign autographs! Performances take place Saturday, October 10 (***The performance on October 10 at 1:00pm will be interpreted in American Sign Language***), Sunday, October 11, Saturday, October 17, Sunday, October 18, and Saturday, October 24. Performances take place at Stephen J. Capestro Theatre at Roosevelt Park (1 Pine Drive) in Edison, New Jersey.
TICKET SALE PROTOCOLS: Tickets are available for purchase by calling the box office at 732-548-2884 or visiting the Stephen J. Capestro Theatre box office between 9:00am–12:00pm, Monday through Friday. Acceptable forms of payment are credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover) or a check made out to "Middlesex County Treasurer". Cash is not accepted for the Indoor Fall Children's Show.
Ticket prices are $4 per adult and $2 per child. There are no discounted tickets available for seniors. Tickets can be picked up in advance by visiting the theatre on weekdays between 9:00am and noon, or at will call on the day of the show.
