Bordentown Regional High School Presents "Puffs"
 

(BORDENTOWN, NJ) -- The comedic play Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic by Matt Cox will be presented on October 21st and 22nd at the Bordentown Performing Arts Center. This production will be performed by the award-winning theatre students of Bordentown Regional High School.  Tickets will also be sold at the door. Showtime is 7:30pm.

(PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center presented School Girls; or, the African Mean Girls Play at duCret School of the Arts in Plainfield from September 16-18. Beauty, ambition, and fierce humor combine in this comedy by Jocelyn Bioh loosely based on the movie Mean Girls. Photographer John Posada was on hand to take photos.

 



Centenary Stage Announces Open-Call Auditions for Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella
 

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company will be holding an open-call audition for their upcoming 2022 Holiday Spectacular Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Auditions will be held on September 30 from 3:00pm-7:00pm and on October 1 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm. Appointments are encouraged and can be made by calling the Centenary Stage Company box office at (908) 979-0900. Walk-ins will be seen as time permits.

Kelsey Theatre Kicks Off 50th Anniversary Season With "Once"
 

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- “Once,” winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and winner of a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, will kick off Kelsey Theatre’s 2022-2023 season. The romantic musical drama runs weekends from September 23 through October 2.  

 



"Woyzeck" and "Cherry Hill" to Open Black Box's 2022-23 Season
 

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- The Black Box, NJ's prime incubator for new and under produced works by world-class artists, is pleased to kick off the 2022-23 Season with acclaimed playwright/filmmaker Neil LaBute's adaptation of Georg Buchner’s Woyzeck, "in rep" with Cherry Hill by Matt Okin this October! The Arden Theatre Company Opens Season With "The Glass Menagerie"
 

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- The Arden Theatre Company kicks off their 35th Anniversary season with a new staging of the beloved Tennessee Williams’ classic, The Glass Menagerie.  Directed by Producing Artistic Director Terrence J. Nolen, the production will play the F. Otto Haas Stage from October 6 – November 6, 2022.   

 



NJ Rep presents National New Play Network Premiere of "Eden Prairie, 1971"
 

(LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company presents the National New Play Network premiere of Eden Prairie, 1971 written by Mat Smart. Directed by Evan Bergman, the play stars Andrea Gallo, Oriana Lada, and Emilio Cuesta. Performances run from October 20th through November 20th. As war churns in Vietnam, night falls over the tranquil hills and creeks of a small Midwestern town, and a young woman hears a tap at her window. On the same night Apollo 15 makes its lunar landing, a young draft-dodger steals home to Eden Prairie, after a 300-mile trek from Canada.

Little Kids Rock changes name to Music Will
 

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) /PRNewswire/ -- Little Kids Rock, the largest nonprofit music program in U.S. public schools, has changed its name to Music Will with artist support across a wide variety of genres from Slash and Usher to Hozier, Mavis Staples and Darryl DMC McDaniels. The 20-year-old national nonprofit aims to bring the gift of music to a million more kids in the next five years.

College rock / power trio ON have released their self-titled 'ON' album, via Indiestructable Records, which ON guitarist Steve Fall says is "a document of friendship navigating explores in pain, and hope. Looking at the world with a collaborative effort to document what we see, witness and feel through songwriting and chemistry as a band."

 



Newark Porchfest Scheduled for Saturday
 

(NEWARK, NJ) -- On Saturday, September 24, 2022, Newark Porchfest takes place in the Forest Hill Historic District of Newark. This is a free, family-friendly celebration of the arts with music of all genres, art, dance, food, and activities for children. The rain date is Sunday, September 25.

 



Charlie Puth to Perform Homecoming Show at Count Basie Center for the Arts
 

(RED BANK, NJ) -- GRAMMY-nominated and multi-platinum singer/songwriter/producer Charlie Puth has announced the ‘One Night Only’ tour, produced by Live Nation. Offering 8 dates across North America and Canada this fall, the run of intimate underplay shows will kick off with a homecoming show in Red Bank, New Jersey on October 23 at the Count Basie Center for the Arts, before making his way North to Massey Hall in Toronto on October 27 and finally, The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on November 9.

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band LIVE! in Somers Point, NJ
 

From the swing era through the early 1980s, the Tony Mart Café in Somers Point, NJ was a premier destination for experiencing live music performed by such legendary artists as Bill Haley and his Comets, Del Shannon, Joey Dee and the Starliters, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, and many more. The fictional band, Eddie and the Cruisers, can even be seen performing on the club’s hallowed stage in the 1983 MGM motion picture which was filmed on location at the fabled Jersey Shore music venue.

Terence Blanchard Kicks Off 11th Annual TD James Moody Jazz Festival

Ocean County Library presents BJ and the Band

The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation Receives NJ Department of Environment Protection's Coastal Flooding Arts Grant. Call for Artists Announced
 

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation (NNJCF) has announced the award of a New Jersey Department of the Environment Community-Based Arts grant of $22,000.  The NNJCF, a not-for-profit organization based in Hackensack, was one of only five organizations in the Garden State selected to receive the award that will pair artists specializing in environmental topics to create art installations in specific sites in the state's coastal zone.

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Morven Museum & Garden’s October programs kick off with a watch party of the 2020 documentary Sisters with Transistors, a celebration of the women who pioneered electronic music. This hybrid event will be held on Thursday, October 13 at 6:30pm. Laurie Spiegel, groundbreaking composer and computer programmer who worked at Bell Labs in the 1970s, is scheduled to appear for a virtual discussion following the screening.
