Imagine you're on a back porch somewhere in the backwoods of South Jersey, listening to a captivating storyteller spin tall tales about a fantastical creature and a curious, compassionate young woman. Maybe you're sipping a bootleg bourbon. That's the vibe of The Devil & Daisy Dirt, which completed a five-show run at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC) on February 22, 2026.

Immersive theater has long been all the rage for adults, but at Mile Square Theatre's production of The Young King, kids get to step into the story.

(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The MAC Players at the Middletown Arts Center presents The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee across three weekends from February 27 to March 8, 2026. The hit play is about an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. Fawn Nocera Photography was on hand to take photos.

Theater aficionado's will likely be familiar with the plays of Theresa Rebeck—the most Broadway-produced female playwright of our time and creator of the hit TV show, Smash. For the upcoming show, Samantha Inside Out at New Jersey Repertory Company, though, Rebeck is not the writer, but the director— a role she has increasingly enjoyed over the last several years.
