THIS EVENT HAS PASSED

Dead On Live Friday Shakedown Show! Featuring the Dancin’est Dead!

13 years ago, touring/recording veteran Marc Muller (Shania Twain, Bruce Springsteen, Van Zant, Tommy Shaw) assembled a cast of world-class musicians to present two iconic Grateful Dead records, Workingman’s Dead and American Beauty, at the historic Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank NJ. He chose to perform the music in a totally unique – never done before way.  Note for note, all instruments and vocals as released, that launched his project Dead On Live. Since then DOL has broken all the rules in Grateful Dead tribute scene by recreating virtually all of the Dead’s commercial releases, as well as some of their more notorious live productions, note for note……Dead On…….Live!

DOL is thrilled to be celebrating their 13th anniversary where it all began back in 2010, at the historic Count Basie Theatre! Expect the set list to be packed with the most fun, fan-favs, dancin’est Dead tunes from their vast catalog. Early burners like “Beat It On Down the Line” and “Bertha” through to the driving “Touch of Grey” and “Shakedown Street”, as well as some slow dance, soulful Jerry classics like “Stella Blue” and “Ship of Fools”, to make for a wonderful Dead set under the stars.

Dead On Live is multi-instrumentalist Marc Muller (guitar, pedal steel, vocals), PA Bob Weir “Ace” Jimmy McGuigan (guitar, vocals) Keith keyboard clone John Pittas, Erica Muller capturing Donna’s unique vocal nuance, Paul Avrutin tackling the rootless syncopation of Phil’s idiosyncratic bass lines and the deep Dead grooves of drummer Dave Anthony.  These musicians come together to create this unique, “needle-to-vinyl”, never before heard, live Dead experience. But of course, remaining true to the Dead’s spirit of freedom and sonic exploration, DOL always provides plenty of improvisation and good old Grateful jamming to get the kids to dance and shake their bones!

Come relive the magic with Dead On Live!

Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites... 07/09/2026

"Very well; and you? We're hoping you can come to The Lizzie Rose on Friday July 31; come as our guest, come enjoy the racket, it's a wonderful room to play," laughed the always jovial Conrad Warre of the Boston based blues/rock band Bees Deluxe as he discussed that upcoming Tuckerton show, their stop at Jamey's House of Music, their upcoming new record, the International Blues Challenge and more.

Frank Hanavan: "Natural & Plus"

Frank Hanavan's Hoboken is wet. In his streetscapes, surfaces glisten. The sky is rarely glowering, but it does seem full; ready to have something to say, or wrapping up something that it is busy saying. The canopy of foliage that hangs over the streetcorners feels saturated with moisture. Even the shadows on the sidewalk are puddle blue. Businesses have their umbrellas open. A few people do, too.
