MPAC presents Piff the Magic Dragon and Puddles Pity Party

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Award-winning comedic magician, Piff the Magic Dragon has teamed up with world-renowned golden-voiced clown, Puddles Pity Party, for their Misery Loves Company Tour, coming to Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on Thursday, May 19 at 7:30pm. Tickets range from $29-$69.



One-Man Show About Paul Robeson to be Staged at RVCC

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Paul Robeson Institute for Ethics, Leadership, and Social Justice at Raritan Valley Community College will host a special performance of Stogie Kenyatta in The World is My Home—The Life of Paul Robeson, Saturday, May 7 at 7:30pm. The event will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.



URSB Carteret Performing Arts & Events Center to present "Stand With Ukraine" Benefit Concert

(CARTERET, NJ) -- Mayor Daniel J. Reiman announced that the Borough of Carteret will join with St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral and St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church on Sunday, May 15th beginning at 12:00pm to present ‘Stand with Ukraine,’ a concert and cultural event to benefit humanitarian relief efforts for Ukrainian refugees at the URSB Carteret Performing Arts & Events Center.



Philadelphia’s Chocolate Ballerina Company Announces Spring and Summer 2022 Programs

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Chocolate Ballerina Company, a contemporary community-based dance organization that supports the hidden talents in youth and adult artists of color in the Philadelphia region, is eagerly preparing for spring and summer public performances and outreach projects that will provide urban areas the opportunity to receive professional dance training, exposure to cross-studied dance forms, and celebrate Black culture.  Of note, the company will present a public preview of their highly-anticipated new fully-staged production of The Black Swan…Revealed this June.








Mikey Erg releases "Almost Like Judee Sill" from upcoming album

Don Giovanni Records has announced that punk rock lifer Mikey Erg will release his new album Love At Leeds on June 24, 2022. The album was recorded by Steve Albini at his iconic Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago IL. The band features DIY working class hero Jeff Rosenstock on lead guitar and background vocals.

A Walk on the Moon appears at the George Street Playhouse this week with drama, comedy, music—and a sigh of relief. The latter comes from Pamela Gray, who wrote the play and who had begun to believe it would never be mounted at the New Brunswick venue.

Los Angeles area-based yacht rock band Yächtley Crëw have set sail on their 2022 Anchors Up Tour and will perform May 2, Sony Hall, New York City; May 5, URSB Carteret Performing Arts & Events Center, Carteret, and May 6, Tropicana Showroom, Atlantic City. Known as “The Titans of Soft Rock,” Yachtley Crew encapsulate the feel-good, chart-topping soft rock hits of the late ’70s and early ’80s. Gushy love songs, whaling saxophone solos and memorable hooks will have you unabashedly singing along and donning a captain’s hat of your own as you’re taken on a trip down memory lane.



The Growing Stage presents "Go Dog. Go!"

(NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage, The Children’s Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre in Netcong presents the main stage production of Go Dog. Go!  The show runs May 6-22 with performances Saturdays at 4:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. The will be a special Opening Night Performance, May 6 at 7:30pm.  Based on the book by P.D. Eastman, Go Dog. Go! is adapted for the stage by Steven Dietz and Allison Gregory with music by Michael Koerner.  This production is directed by Lori B. Lawrence, TGS’s Director of Educational Programming with Musical Direction by Laura Petrie and Choreography by Jillian Petrie.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
