Author Pamela Gray talks about "A Walk on the Moon"


A Walk on the Moon appears at the George Street Playhouse this week with drama, comedy, music—and a sigh of relief. The latter comes from Pamela Gray, who wrote the play and who had begun to believe it would never be mounted at the New Brunswick venue.
The Growing Stage presents "Go Dog. Go!"


(NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage, The Children’s Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre in Netcong presents the main stage production of Go Dog. Go!  The show runs May 6-22 with performances Saturdays at 4:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. The will be a special Opening Night Performance, May 6 at 7:30pm.  Based on the book by P.D. Eastman, Go Dog. Go! is adapted for the stage by Steven Dietz and Allison Gregory with music by Michael Koerner.  This production is directed by Lori B. Lawrence, TGS’s Director of Educational Programming with Musical Direction by Laura Petrie and Choreography by Jillian Petrie.
The Acting Company to hold 50th Anniversary Gala


(NEW YORK, NY) -  Artistic Director Kent Gash and Managing Director Erik Schroeder of The Acting Company have announced a celebration of the company’s half century of impact across America with a 50th Anniversary Gala to take place on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Capitale (130 Bowery). The evening will include a special 50th anniversary performance with notable alumni including Duane Boutté, Jimonn Cole, Keith David, Stephen DeRosa, Harriet Harris, Ezra Knight, JD Mollison, Mary Lou Rosato, Roslyn Ruff, Derek Smith, Henry Stram with an introduction by Jack O’Brien and direction by former Artistic Director Ian Belknap.
Music Mountain Theatre presents "The Producers"


(LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre presents the Mel Brooks’ hit musical, The Producers, on weekends from April 29 - May 22.  The most Tony Award winning musical of all time, The Producers sees Max Bialystock and Leopold Bloom come up with a surefire scheme to make their fortune on Broadway: raise money from backers (little old ladies), hire a director, produce the worst flop in history, and then run off with all of the money when the show closes on opening night.  Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! At the core of the insanely funny adventure is a poignant emotional journey of two very different men who become friends.

Sailing with Yächtley Crëw


Los Angeles area-based yacht rock band Yächtley Crëw have set sail on their 2022 Anchors Up Tour and will perform May 2, Sony Hall, New York City; May 5, URSB Carteret Performing Arts & Events Center, Carteret, and May 6, Tropicana Showroom, Atlantic City. Known as “The Titans of Soft Rock,” Yachtley Crew encapsulate the feel-good, chart-topping soft rock hits of the late ’70s and early ’80s. Gushy love songs, whaling saxophone solos and memorable hooks will have you unabashedly singing along and donning a captain’s hat of your own as you’re taken on a trip down memory lane.
Indigo Girls Announce 2022 Tour


Grammy-winning folk duo Indigo Girls return with a full summer 2022 tour schedule including Summerfest and Red Rocks shows. Indigo Girls will be joining fellow headliners Rickie Lee Jones, Brandi Carlile, Sarah McLachlan and Neko Case on these dates. As always, they are bringing along a some of their favorite artists as support as well, including Katie Pruitt, Nicole Atkins, Danielle Howle, Becky Warren,Ruthie Foster, and Lucy Wainwright Roche.
South Jersey Pops Concludes 50th Season with "Beautiful Tomorrow" A Salute to Children, Teachers, and the Future


(CHERRY HILL, NJ) -- The South Jersey Pops, the area’s own non-profit orchestra, concludes its COVID-interrupted 50th anniversary season with a concert May 15, 2022, at Lenape High School paying tribute to the next generation. “Beautiful Tomorrow: The Music Makers of Pops’ Future” is the musical denouement of a season that previously evoked the Pops’ past and present through music.

The Ridgewood Guild International Film Festival takes place This Week


(RIDGEWOOD, NJ) -- The Ridgewood Guild International Film Festival (RGIFF) is back in person this week! A half hour outside Manhattan in downtown Ridgewood is the Art Deco Bowtie Cinema, home to the festival for 11 years. This year see 40 new films, enjoy panels by industry experts, hear inspiring Q & A's, pose for the Red Carpet and on Thursday, meet Constantine Maroulis (American Idol, Rock of Ages) and Actor David Krumholtz (The Santa Clause franchise, Numb3rs, The Deuce).  Screenings take place on April 27-28.

The Arts Institute of Middlesex County receives $25,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts For Share Your Foodways project


(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The Arts Institute of Middlesex County has been approved for a $25,000 Grants for Arts Projects award to support the Share Your Foodways project. Middlesex County Arts Institute’s project is among 1,248 projects across America totaling $28,840,000 to receive this first round of funding in the Grants for Arts Projects category this year.
TEDxAsburyPark presents JOY on Saturday


(RED BANK, NJ) --  TEDxAsburyPark presents JOY – an experience featuring TED talks and performances where we will explore JOY in ideas. JOY, which takes place Saturday, April 30 at Two River Theater, will feature a theatrical lineup of expert speakers, comics, musicians, performers, and artists who will share inspiring stories and ideas.  The event starts at 1:00pm.
