Tuesday, April 23 - George Street Playhouse presents "tick, tick...BOOM!". (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse has announced the complete cast and creative team for tick, tick...BOOM!, directed by Artistic Director David Saint (The Club) with a book, music, and lyrics by Tony® Award winner Jonathan Larson (Rent). Featuring a script consulted by Tony® Award winner David Auburn (Proof) and vocal and orchestral arrangements by Tony and Grammy® Award winner, Stephen Oremus (The Book of Mormon), tick, tick...BOOM! will run from April 23 through May 19, 2024. The cast includes Daniel Marconi (Sweeney Todd) as Jon, Cathryn Wake (53% Of) as Susan, and John Yi (KPOP) as Michael.

Wednesday, April 24 - Moore's Lounge Players Lead Spirited Jazz Jam Concert at SOPAC's Jammin' in the Loft. The Moore's Lounge Players, one of New Jersey's longest-running jazz jam bands, will head up an unforgettable jazz performance and the ultimate jam session as part of the "Jammin' in the Loft" series at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) on Wednesday, April 24, at 7 PM. Curated by Gregory Burrus Productions, "Jammin' in the Loft" is a series that takes the local music scene by force with an energetic experience of seeing talented local musicians perform up close and personal, surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd of friends, fans, and fellow musicians.

Wednesday, April 24 - Mile Square Theatre presents NJ Premiere of "Show Up, Kids!". (HOBOKEN, NJ) -- Mile Square Theatre is pleased to announce their Theatre for Family and Young Audiences Production for their 2023-24 season: Show Up, Kids!, directed by Michole Biancosino, which has a four-week limited engagement at Mile Square Theatre from Wednesday, April 24 through Sunday, May 19, 2024. Show Up, Kids! is a semi-improvised comedy where a hapless host uses audience suggestions for the plot, props, characters, and setting of a completely original story.

Friday, April 26 - The Growing Stage presents the 2024 New Play-Reading Festival. (NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage: The Children's Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre on Route 183 in Netcong, New Jersey is thrilled to present the four finalists for their New Play-Reading Festival (April 26-28). The 2024 finalists include Bug & Junior: An Unfairytale by Ann Eskridge; Her-Cules by Matthew Hanf; Her Beautiful Sound by Cris Eli Blak; and Little Things by Bonnie Gleicher & Brandon Michael Lowden.  The New Play-Reading Festival is curated by Danny Campos, The Growing Stage's veteran actor and teaching artist.

Saturday, April 27 - State Theatre New Jersey presents "CLUE". (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents CLUE, the hilarious murder mystery comedy, with four performances from April 27-28, 2024. Murder and blackmail are on the menu when six mysterious guests assemble at Boddy Manor for a night they'll never forget! Was it Mrs. Peacock in the study with the knife? Or was it Colonel Mustard in the library with the wrench?

Sunday, April 28 - Danny Coleman's Rock On Radio Show to Celebrate 15th Anniversary at Salty's Beach Bar. (LAKE COMO, NJ) -- Danny Coleman's Rock On Radio will celebrate 15 years of covering the music scene with a "15th Anniversary Celebration Bash" on April 28, 2024 at Salty's Beach Bar (1705 Main Street) in Lake Como, NJ from 1:00pm-6:00pm. The night will include performances by Radio Fiction, The Williamsboy, Dave Vargo, Jerry Monk, Helen O’Shea and Friends, Jump Back and more. Admission is free; there will be an available menu as well as a cash bar.

Sunday, April 28 - Imperial Brass With Special Guest Levi Boylan. (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Imperial Brass will feature Levi Boylan – the Principal Trombonist of the NJ Symphony Orchestra, in a concert at the Montclair Salvation Army Citadel on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The program will include Ferdinand David's. "Concertino for Trombone". Showtime is 3:00pm.

Wednesday, April 24 - Second Annual American Music Honors Recipients include John Mellencamp, Jackson Browne, Mavis Staples, and Dion DiMucci. (WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music has announced the honorees of its second annual American Music Honors event, to be held Wednesday, April 24 on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch.

Thursday, April 25 - WDHA's Rock the Rockfest returns to Prudential Center on April 25th. (NEWARK, NJ) -- WDHA 105.5 presents its annual favorite Rock the Rock Fest at the Prudential Center on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Multi-platinum recording artists Staind will headline an impressive roster of rock performers, including Seether, The Struts, Dayseeker, Ayron Jones, Plush and Tim Montana.

Friday, April 26 - The Newton Theatre presents The Breakers - A Tribute To Tom Petty. (NEWTON, NJ) -- The Breakers - one of the country's premier Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers tribute bands - comes to The Newton Theatre on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 8:00pm. Established to let the fans of the late great Tom Petty continue to enjoy the live experience of TP & the HB's. No other Tom Petty tribute band comes close to capturing the SOUND and emotions of Tom's songs quite like the Breakers.

Friday, April 26 - 54 Below presents Abby Mueller. (NEW YORK, NY) -- 54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Abby Mueller on April 26-27, 2024 at 7:00pm. The performance on April 27 will also be streamed live. After her celebrated reign in Six, Abby Mueller (Broadway's original Jane Seymour) makes her 54 Below and NYC solo concert debut! Previously seen on Broadway in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and Kinky Boots, this Drama Desk Award winner and Grammy nominee invites you on a musical journey from Carole to Adele, pop to American Songbook classics, and beyond.

Friday, April 26 - 87 Sussex to Celebrate Grand Opening with Performances by Candice Lee and Bennett Rhoad. (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- New restaurant 87 Sussex will be celebrating their grand-opening all weekend long on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 starting at 5:00pm with music performances, spirit and wine tastings, giveaways, photo booth and so much more. Saturday, April 27 - The Black Crowes tour includes NYC, Atlantic City, and Philly shows. (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Fresh off the heels of announcing their first album in 15 years, Happiness Bastards, legendary rock band The Black Crowes has announced their 2024 headline tour – set to hit 35 cities in North America and Europe this Spring in support of their forthcoming studio album. Locally the tour comes to Radio City Music Hall in NYC on April 27; Ovation Hall at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City on May 4; and The Met in Philadelphia on May 7, 2024.

Saturday, April 27 - Princeton Porchfest to take place on April 27th. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) announces the return of Princeton Porchfest on Saturday, April 27. Princeton Porchfest, which made its debut in 2022, is a family-friendly event where musicians play free shows on porches throughout the neighborhood. Attendees are invited to stroll from porch to porch and relax on front lawns and sidewalks as they enjoy live, local talent.

Saturday, April 27 - Levoy Theatre presents The Breakers - Tribute to Tom Petty. (MILLVILLE, NJ) -- If you hear someone mention "Tom Petty Tribute Band", and you think blonde wigs or dyed blonde hair and a mediocre-at-best vocal performance, then you haven't been to a show by The Breakers. See for yourself when the band comes to The Levoy Theatre on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm.

Sunday, April 28 - The Craig Sailer Project Sponsors a Food Drive Throughout April. (CLINTON, NJ) -- The Craig Sailer Project is sponsoring a food drive to benefit food pantries and food banks serving the Town of Clinton, Hunterdon County, and State of New Jersey during the month of April, with a culminating celebration and day of music by the band on Sunday, April 28 at the Red Mill Museum in Clinton, New Jersey.

Sunday, April 28 - Westminster Conservatory of Music presents "Music for Two Pianos and Friends". (PRINCETON, NJ) -- On Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 3:00pm, Westminster Conservatory of Music will present Music for Two Pianos and Friends, a recital featuring the Barton & Lehrer Piano Duo, Westminster Conservatory clarinetist Kenneth Ellison and guest artist Alexei Yavtuhovich, violin. The concert will take place in Bristol Chapel (101 Walnut Lane) in Princeton. Admission is free.

Tuesday, April 30 - RVCC Student Jazz Ensemble to Perform on April 30th. (BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College's (RVCC) Student Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 7:30pm. The concert will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College's Branchburg campus. The group is directed by RVCC faculty member Dr. Oliver Santana.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents "Gun & Powder". (MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse presents Gun & Powder from April 4 – May 5, 2024. The new musical features book and lyrics by Angelica Chéri and music by Ross Baum. Directed by Stevie Walker-Webb, choreographed by Tiffany Rea-Fisher and music directed by Austin Cook, Gun & Powder is a new musical inspired by the true story of Mary (Renée) and Martha Clarke (LaFontaine), African American twin sisters who take extraordinary measures to settle their mother’s sharecropper debt and save her home.

Salvador Dali and Sigmund Freud Meet in Lisa Monde's Play "Dali's Dream". (NEW YORK, NY) -- Salvador Dali's wish to meet the famous psychoanalyst comes true in a dream... where Dali finds himself at Dr. Sigmund Freud's sanitarium and becomes part of the famous sessions conducted by the "father of modern psychology". All of this happens in Lisa Monde's play Dali's Dream. The limited engagement runs April 5-27, 2024 at The Gene Frankel Theatre in NoHo. The play is produced by MONLI International Company LLC and The Onomatopoeia Theatre Company.

Two River Theater presents the World Premiere of "A Thousand Maids" by Tony Meneses. (RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater has announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere comedy, A Thousand Maids, by Two River favorite Tony Meneses (The Hombres, Guadalupe in the Guest Room), directed by Drama League Director's Project Fellow and recipient of the Yale 2019 Kauffman Memorial Prize, Aneesha Kudtarkar (Water by the Spoonful, Queen). The show will run April 6–28, 2024 in the Marion Huber Theater.

Centenary Stage Company presents 2024 Women Playwright Series Readings. (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company's Women Playwrights Series returns this spring with three brand-new play readings. Readings will take place on Wednesdays throughout April at 7:00pm in the Sitnik and Kutz Theatres of the Lackland Performing Arts Center at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ on the campus of Centenary University. The Women Playwright Series readings are free to attend with donations welcome, advanced reservations have a $5.00 fee. Centenary Stage Company will also offer a live streaming option accompanying the in-person performances. Live stream access is free to participate with donations appreciated.

Playhouse 22 presents "Steel Magnolias". (EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Playhouse 22 presents "Steel Magnolias" by Robert Harling, weekends from April 12-28, 2024. Better-known by the film with the same name, the play is a comedy-drama set in rural Louisiana about a group of gossipy women who are concerned about relationships with their families, loved ones, people in the community and most importantly themselves. The production is directed by directed by Ken Webb

Spring Lake Theatre presents "HMS Pinafore". (SPRING LAKE, NJ) -- Ahoy, theater enthusiasts! Spring Lake Theatre presents the timeless classic "HMS Pinafore" from April 12-27, 2024. Audiences will be transported back to the Victorian era as they embark on a high-seas adventure filled with romance, humor, and unforgettable melodies.

Colt Coeur presents "Still" by Lia Romeo starring Jayne Atkinson and Tim Daly. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Colt Coeur presents the New York premiere of Still by Lia Romeo from April 18 through May 17, 2024 at DR2 Theatre (103 East 15th Street). Directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt, Jayne Atkinson and Tim Daly will reprise their acclaimed roles as Helen and Mark in this new play for anyone who's ever wondered "what if?" The two had a successful run at the Dorset Theatre Festival in 2023.

Ella Dershowitz and Jill Eikenberry to Star in World Premiere of "Two Hander" at NJ Rep. (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company (NJRep) will continue its 27th Season with the World Premiere of Two Hander by Julia Blauvelt, directed by NJ Rep Artistic Director SuzAnne Barabas. The play stars Ella Dershowitz and Jill Eikenberry and runs from April 18 through May 12, 2024.

Centenary Stage Company's NEXTStage Repertory presents "The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical". (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company's NEXTStage Repertory presents their spring musical production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical from April 18-28, 2024 in the Sitnik Theatre on the Centenary University campus. The musical was written by Joe Tracz, Composed by Rob Rokicki, and adapted from the best-selling book The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan with an original rock score.

The MTM Players presents "Nunsense" at Kelsey Theatre. (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Tainted food, nuns in freezers, and lots of laughs are in store when The MTM Players brings the hilarious musical comedy Nunsense to the Kelsey Theatre stage, April 19 to May 5, 2024, on Mercer County Community College's (MCCC) West Windsor Campus.

Bergen County Players presents "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time". (ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP), one of America's longest-running little theater companies, concludes its 2023-2024 mainstage season with the critically acclaimed, Tony Award-winning play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, and directed by Alyson Cohn of Wyckoff, this play tells the story of Christopher Boone, a 15-year-old who is wrongly accused of killing his neighbor's dog.

Black Box PAC presents a Staged Reading of "Me, Myself & I" by Edward Albee. (TEANECK, NJ) -- In association with The Estate of Edward Albee, Black Box PAC presents a staged reading of Me, Myself & I (2008) on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Debonair Music Hall. Showtime is 7:30pm. This is part of the company's exclusive staged reading series of all of Albee's plays.

The Summit Playhouse presents "Is He Dead?" by Mark Twain. (SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Summit Playhouse presents Is He Dead? from April 26 to May 11, 2024. This is a play by Mark Twain based on an earlier short story. In it, a young painter of genius is in love but in debt. To achieve fame and fortune, he fakes his death while passing himself off as his own sister. Now rich, he must find a way to get out of a dress, return to life, and marry his love.

The Premier Theatre Company presents "Spring Awakening" at the Navesink Library Theater. (ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) -- The Premier Theatre Company will present Spring Awakening at the Navesink Library Theater in Navesink (Atlantic Highlands), NJ on from April 26-28, 2024. Set in the Germany of 1891, Spring Awakening follows a group of adolescents through their struggles in the journey from adolescence to adulthood.

Bordentown Regional High School Theater Club presents 2024 One Act Play Festival. (BORDENTOWN, NJ) -- The Bordentown Regional High School Theater Club will present their 2024 One Act Play Festival: Rogues' Gallery on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 7:30pm in the Bordentown Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. All proceeds benefit BRHS senior scholarships.

West Hudson Arts & Theater Co presents "Disaster! The Musical". (HARRISON, NJ) -- The West Hudson Arts & Theater Co (WHATCo) brings its Main Stage season to a close with a hilarious production of Disaster! The Musical for two weekends starting April 26th at The Theater at WHATCo. Disaster! comes to West Hudson straight from Broadway and features some of the most unforgettable songs of the '70s like “Knock on Wood," "Hooked on a Feeling," and "Hot Stuff."

Molière in the Park presents "The Miser". (BROOKLYN, NJ) -- Molière in the Park, in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance and LeFrak Center at Lakeside, and in collaboration with Brooklyn Public Library, presents a re-imagined version of Molière's The Miser, translated and adapted by David Chambers, and directed by Molière in the Park's Founding Artistic Director Lucie Tiberghien. The Miser runs April 27 – May 19, 2024 for 21 performances in a limited engagement at Prospect Park’s LeFrak Center in Brooklyn. Enter at 171 East Drive between Ocean Avenue and Lincoln Road.

American Theater Group's Monday Night Play Reading Series presents "Larry: The Big-Time Broadway Producer". (RAHWAY, NJ) -- American Theater Group (ATG), a professional theater company in Central New Jersey, will present the endearing new comedy Larry: The Big Time Broadway Producer as part of its free Monday Night Play Reading Series on April 29, 2024 at Hamilton Stage in Rahway, NJ. Thursday, April 25 - RVCC to Present Student, Faculty Dance Performances. (BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College's (RVCC) Arts & Design department will present DanceWorks, an evening of student and faculty dance performances, April 25-26, 2024 at 7:00pm. The event will be held in the Edward Nash Theatre at the College's Branchburg campus. Loretta Fois, Director of RVCC's dance program, will produce the concert.

Saturday, April 27 - Fairy Tale in Motion: Ballet Arts and Adelphi Orchestra Present The Sleeping Beauty. (EMERSON, NJ) -- In 1959, Disney delighted audiences with the release of Sleeping Beauty, a tale of a beautiful princess, her fairy godmothers, and their struggle against an evil fairy hungry for revenge. However, what might come as a surprise is that this enchanting story traces back to medieval times and is the foundation of one of the dance world's oldest and most cherished ballets.

Saturday, April 27 - "Best of" FilmOneFest to Take Place at Smodcastle Cinemas. (ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) -- FilmOneFest will be holding a fundraiser and food drive with a "Best of" FilmOneFest event at Smodcastle Cinemas on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 7:00pm. Thursday, April 25 - The Madison Mostly Dance Festival '24. (MADISON, NJ) -- The Madison Mostly Dance Festival '24 takes place April 25 to May 5, 2024 and includes dance performances, films about dance, theater about dance, and music. Performances take place at the Madison Community Arts Center (10 Kings Road) in Madison, New Jersey.

Saturday, April 27 - Visual Arts Center of New Jersey presents Positive Space Spring Gala. (SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) presents Positive Space, its 2024 Annual Spring Gala, at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, NJ, on Saturday, April 27. The evening will be presented by premier sponsors Chubb and Risk Strategies, and will feature music by Art-Strings Ensembles, signature cocktails, delicious food, and robust live and silent auctions, featuring contemporary artwork and unique experiences led by celebrity auctioneer CK Swett. Monday, April 29 - NJ Education Leader Maud Dahme to Share Holocaust Memories at the Ocean County Library Brick Branch. (BRICK TOWNSHIP) -- A former president of the New Jersey State Board of Education will share her memories as a World War II hidden child and Holocaust survivor at the Ocean County Library Brick Branch. "Remembering the Holocaust: A Conversation with Maud Dahme" will take place on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 2:30pm.
