Based on Yiddish author Sholem Aleichem's stories, with a book by Joseph Stein, the musical boasts a celebrated score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick.

Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Theater & Music Theater presents "Anon(ymous)" by Naomi Iizuka  (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Theater and Music Theater at Princeton University presents Anon(ymous) by award-winning playwright Naomi Iizuka, a poetic and action-packed retelling of Homer's The Odyssey with a modern twist that explores displacement, the search for belonging, hope and resilience, and the power of friendship. The production is directed by faculty member Bi Jean Ngo. Performances are November 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9 at the Berlind Theatre at McCarter Theatre Center. Showtime each night is at 8:00pm.

Catalyst Theater Company presents "Bat Boy: The Musical" in November  (PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- Catalyst Theater Company presents Bat Boy:The Musical across two weekends (November 8-17, 2024) at duCret Center of Art. The inspiration for Bat Boy was drawn from a 1992 story in Weekly World News, known for publishing bizarre, satirical tales. This American Horror Rock Musical/Comedy captures the unique blend of horror, camp, comedy, and tragedy of the original tabloid story.

Manhattan Theatre Club presents World Premiere of "Vladimir" by Erika Sheffer  (NEW YORK, NY) -- Manhattan Theatre Club has announced full casting for the world premiere of Vladimir, written by Erika Sheffer (Russian Transport) and directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan (MTC: Proof, Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes). Vladimir runs from September 24 to November 10, 2024 at New York City Center Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

Shakespeare Theatre of NJ presents "Macbeth" on the Main Stage for the first time in two decades  (MADISON, NJ) -- When three mysterious strangers confront a noble general on a barren heath, the fate of a nation is changed forever. Ambition, power, and madness drive Shakespeare's thrilling masterpiece, Macbeth, appearing this fall on the Main Stage of the acclaimed Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) for the first time in two decades. The strictly limited run plays at The F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre on the campus of Drew University from October 16 through November 17, 2024.

Art House Productions Presents "Gruesome Playground Injuries" by Rajiv Joseph  (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Art House Productions in collaboration with Half-Light Productions, is thrilled to announce the upcoming presentation of Rajiv Joseph's compelling play, "Gruesome Playground Injuries," directed by Catriona Rubenis-Stevens. In a time when empathy and understanding are more crucial than ever, this play seeks to foster connection and dialogue. Performances run weekends from October 18 to November 10, 2024.

Luna Stage presents the NY premiere of "Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library"  (NEW YORK, NY) -- Luna Stage proudly presents the New York premiere of Jenny Lyn Bader's Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library, directed by Ari Laura Kreith, running Off-Broadway October 18 – November 10, 2024 for 25 performances in a limited engagement at 59E59 Theaters, Theater B, located at 59 East 59th Street in New York City. Previews begin October 18 for an October 24 opening.

The Broadway Theatre of Pitman presents "Kinky Boots"  (PITMAN, NJ) -- The Broadway Theatre of Pitman presents Tony Award-winning hit Kinky Boots weekends from October 25 to November 17, 2024. Based on the 2005 film and inspired by a true story, Kinky Boots follows Charlie Price, an aspiring young businessman who is forced to give up his dreams of living the London city life in order to save his late father's family business in Northern England.

Bridge Players Theatre Company presents the Hauntingly Beautiful "Jekyll & Hyde"  (BURLINGTON, NJ) -- Bridge Players Theatre Company, the Burlington City-based community theatre group, continues its 2024-2025 "Season of Change" with the haunting musical Jekyll & Hyde. Opening October 25 and continuing weekends through November 9, this spine-tingling spectacle features a special Halloween performance October 31, 2024.

South Camden Theatre Company presents "God of Carnage"  (CAMDEN, NJ) -- South Camden Theatre Company presents God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza across three weekends in November 2024. Using a translation by Christopher Hampton, the production of the 2009 Tony Award winning play is directed by Connie Norwood.

Sara Koviak and Anne O'Sullivan to Star in "Your Name Means Dream" at NJ Rep  (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company (NJ Rep) will continue its 27th Season with a presentation of Your Name Means Dream, written and directed by Academy Award-nominated José Rivera. This production will star Sara Koviak (New York: The Hours are Feminine) and Anne O' Sullivan (Broadway: Blythe Spirit), who both originated these roles when it debuted at the Contemporary American Theater Festival in 2023. It will begin performances on October 31, with its opening night on November 2, and run through November 24, 2024.

Get into the Holiday Spirit with "White Christmas" at Music Mountain Theatre  (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre (MMT) in Lambertville presents a three-weekend run of White Christmas from November 1–17, 2024. White Christmas, the Irving Berlin musical based on the 1954 Paramount film starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen, will be the fourteenth mainstage show of MMT’s 2024 season, and the perfect way to usher in the holiday season!

Playhouse 22 presents "School of Rock" in November  (EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- School of Rock - The Musical, featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and a book by Julian Fellowes comes to Playhouse 22 weekends from November 1-17, 2024.

Pebble Players Youth Theater presents "The Wedding Singer"  (SUMMIT, NJ) -- Pebble Players Youth Theater will take you back to the 80's with The Wedding Singer, an energetic and fun show that has performances weekends from November 1-10, 2024. This hilarious show takes on the days when hair was big, greed was good, and all collars were up guaranteeing laughs, while its sparkling new score orchestrates the unmissable dance numbers.

County College of Morris presents "In The Heights"  (RANDOLPH, NJ) -- The Marielaine Mammon School of Music, Performing Arts and Music Technologies at County College of Morris (CCM) presents this fall's musical "In The Heights" from November 6-9, 2024. The play is set in the lively Latino neighborhood of Washington Heights, Manhattan—where sweet coffee flows from corner bodegas, windows are always open and the air resonates with the rhythm of three generations of music.

Centenary Stage Company to Kick Off 2024 Fringe Festival with "Dr. Glas"  (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company's Fringe Festival 2024 will begin with Dr. Glas adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher. Performances take place November 7-10, 2024. Daniel Gerroll is Dr. Glas in this adaptation of the classic Swedish novel by Hjalmar Soderberg. The play tells the tale of an aloof Swedish physician who gradually unburdens his soul with the story of his obsession for another man's wife and the murder he plots to win her heart.

Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Theater & Music Theater presents "A Life Worth Living"  (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Theater and Music Theater at Princeton University presents A Life Worth Living, a new dramatic-comedy musical by Princeton senior Jeffery Chen. Performance take place November 8-9 and November 14-16, 2024 in the Wallace Theater at the Lewis Arts complex on the Princeton campus.

The Players Guild of Leonia presents "Romeo & Juliet"  (LEONIA, NJ) -- The Players Guild of Leonia presents William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet weekends from November 8-24, 2024. The production is directed by Rachel Alt.

Maurer Productions OnStage presents "Beauty and the Beast" at Kelsey Theatre  (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- A timeless story set to music featuring some of the most beloved characters of all time comes to the Kelsey Theatre stage when Maurer Productions OnStage presents Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," weekends from November 8-24, 2024.

For the Whim Productions presents "The Tempest"  (BRIDGETON, NJ) -- For the Whim Productions presents The Tempest from November 8-16, 2024 at Hopeloft in Bridgeton. This version of the Shakespeare classic will be set in a modern, corporate business world with a twist of playful meddling magic.

Luna Stage presents "Lonely Planet" by Steven Dietz  (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Luna Stage presents Lonely Planet by Steven Dietz, directed by Melissa Firlit, from November 14 – December 8, 2024. Lonely Planet is a funny and heartwarming story of friendship, love, and survival. In the 1990s, down an old city street, inside a small map store, a pile of chairs begins to form. Two best friends, Jody and Carl, manage the ever-growing mountain of chairs while taking care of each other and navigating the dark reality that looms in the outside world.

SPQR Stage Company presents "Freezing Antarctica"  (SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- SPQR Stage Company, the Jersey Shore's "Original" theater company, will present Freezing Antarctica across two weekends (November 15-16 and November 22-23, 2024) at Studio;Space in Somers Point. The play is written and directed by SPQR's Artistic Director Bill Sterritt.

Pioneer Productions presents powerful drama: "Dinner with Friends" by Donald Margulies  (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Pioneer Productions presents "Dinner with Friends," the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Donald Margulies, from November 15-24, 2024, at The Stage at Fellowship Hall in the Morristown United Methodist Church (50 South Park Place) in Morristown. The play explores the complexities of modern relationships through the lives of two couples whose friendships are tested by unexpected revelations and personal crises.

Playwright Wants to Challenge and Delight Audiences with 'Freezing Antarctica' at SPQR Stage Company  (SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- SPQR Stage Company, the Jersey Shore's "Original" theater company, will produce Freezing Antarctica, written and directed by SPQR's Artistic Director Bill Sterritt, November 15-16, and November 22-23, 2024 at Studio;Space in Somers Point. The plot revolves around Russian meteorologist Nikita Alexandra Romanov, who is on a desperate dash to the South Pole to save the world when she meets an American adventurer Jack Kennedy Armstrong Earhart on the way.

Levoy Theatre presents Irving Berlin's "White Christmas"  (MILLVILLE, NJ) -- Get into the holiday spirit with Irving Berlin's White Christmas at the Levoy Theatre. Based upon the classic film, the production features music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Performances run weekends from November 15-24, 2024.

East Lynne Theater Company presents "The Death Of Sherlock Holmes" Radio-Style  (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- East Lynne Theater Company will present two weekends of performances of "The Death of Sherlock Holmes?" radio-style, on November 15-16 and 22-23. Two stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle intertwine — "The Final Problem" and "The Adventure of the Empty House"—and have been adapted and are directed by East Lynne veteran Mark Edward Lang.

The Theater Project's "New Play Readings" series to feature works by Lynn Marie Macy, Rosemary Parrillo, and Joseph Vitale  (CRANFORD, NJ) -- Theater enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see staged readings of three new plays and share their reactions with the playwrights during the third of The Theater Project's "New Play Readings" on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Cranford Community Center. Admission is free, with no registration required. The event begins at 2:00pm.

Vivid Stage presents the Next Live Episode of Gemstones on November 20th  (SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, is celebrating its 30th Anniversary season, marking decades of bringing contemporary theatre to audiences in the state of New Jersey. Coming up is the third episode of the original series, Gemstones, by Phoebe Farber. Episode 3 runs Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 2:00pm & 8:00pm.

Artist Collective Troupe presents "Little Women"  (POINT PLEASANT, NJ) -- Artist Collective Troupe presents Little Women from November 22-23, 2024 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Point Pleasant. Based on Louisa May Alcott's American classic, this Civil War story of love and family stands the test of time.

Bordentown Regional High School Theater Club presents 2024 One Act Play Festival  (BORDENTOWN, NJ) -- The award-winning Bordentown Regional High School Theater Club is proud to present their 2024 One Act Play Festival on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 7:30pm in the Bordentown Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. All proceeds benefit BRHS senior scholarships.

State Theatre New Jersey presents "Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical"  (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical for five performances November 23-24, 2024. Audiences will discover the magic of the classic holiday tale as it comes to life live on stage.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents Irving Berlin's White Christmas: The Musical  (MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse presents Irving Berlin's White Christmas: The Musical from November 27 to December 29, 2024. Based on the classic 1954 holiday film, it is a Technicolor Broadway musical extravaganza. The production is directed by Paper Mill's Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee.

This is a one-act play from the experiences of America's longest war, blending heartfelt storytelling with a unique cast of combat veterans and military family members.

Bell Theater at Bell Works presents Broadway Sings for Aaron Lazar on August 31

(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- In 2022, as the world was finally coming out of COVID-19, Aaron Lazar was invited to return to the stage to lead the cast of The Bridges of Madison County, playing opposite Kate Baldwin at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal. Just days into rehearsal, Lazar received a diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, a progressive neurological disease with no known cure. Thus began Lazar's "extraordinary" journey.

(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- Light Opera of New Jersey will hold auditions for Amahl and the Night Visitors, a heartwarming holiday opera, on August 27th and September 3rd from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Callbacks will be on September 5th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Auditions will be in Basking Ridge. Registrants will be advised of exact location after registering. All roles are opened and paid.

In the play, George has been waiting for this night – the seven stages of a lunar eclipse are viewable from the farm that he shares with his wife Em – and she decides to join him in taking in the view.

Nutley Little Theatre presents "A Doll's House, Part 2"

(NUTLEY, NJ) -- Fifteen years after leaving her family and stagnant marriage, Henrik Ibsen's Nora returns home in Lucas Hnath's A Doll's House Part 2. Nutley Little Theatre presents this sequel to Ibsen's classic play across three weekends from September 11-26, 2026.

Center Players to present "The Realistic Joneses" at the Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Center Players of Freehold will present The Realistic Joneses by Will Eno as its first Signature Series production of the 2026-27 season. Directed by Center Players’ Artistic Director Michael Tota, the production will run from October 2-4 at the Herbst Theatre at the Jersey Shore Arts Center in Ocean Grove, marking the first time Center Players has performed in the venue.
