
(TUCKERTON, NJ) -- On Friday, August 18, 2023, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix with The Woodstock Horns will present "The Music of The Band" at the Lizzie Rose Music Room. For this special show, they will perform songs from repertoire of The Band, learned directly from The Band and songs Louie created with The Band including their comeback hit "Atlantic City," he collaborated with The Band for over fifteen years. Showtime is 7:30pm.
Grammy Nominated All-star Band Professor Louie & The Crowmatix began as the studio-backing band for Aaron Professor Louie's musical productions for The Band. Rick Danko, bass player and singer of The Band christened him -Professor Louie - due to his work with The Band and it's individual members.
Professor Louie has emerged in the music industry as the torchbearer of the true spirit of American Roots Music. Collaborating with The Band for over fifteen years – Co-producing the Band's last three CD's in the 90's.
The show will present a diverse set list with songs from The Band, Bob Dylan, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix original & blues songs, from their 16 studio CD's on The Woodstock Records Label.
In 2023, Woodstock Records released on vinyl and CD: Rockin' Legacy Vol. 1 EP, which has been #4 on the Relix /Jamband Charts and has been gaining great reviews & radio play. Their 2022 release Strike Up The Band spent ten months on the Contemporary Blues Roots Music Radio Charts.
The band holds a permanent place in The Canada South Blues Museum. They are recipients of The Robert H. Chambers Award for Excellence in the Traditional Arts from Common Ground on the Hill and have been inducted in The New York State Blues Hall of Fame.
The Crowmatix includes: Professor Louie (keys-accordion,vocals) collaborated with The Band 17 years; Miss Marie (vocals-percussionist-keys) preformed, recorded with Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson; Frank Campbell (bass-vocals) Levon Helm's MD with the Woodstock All-stars; Tom Curiano (drums) preformed with Garland Jeffreys; and Todd Mihan (guitar-vocals). Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Ticket are available for purchase online.
The Lizzie Rose Music Room is located at 217 E. Main Street in Tuckerton, New Jersey. The Venue is a "listening room", not a bar or restaurant. They present a variety of music including blues, jazz, bluegrass, country, rock, soul, singer-songwriters, and more.
