George Street Playhouse presents "tick, tick...BOOM!"

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse has announced the complete cast and creative team for tick, tick...BOOM!, directed by Artistic Director David Saint (The Club) with a book, music, and lyrics by Tony® Award winner Jonathan Larson (Rent). Featuring a script consulted by Tony® Award winner David Auburn (Proof) and vocal and orchestral arrangements by Tony and Grammy® Award winner, Stephen Oremus (The Book of Mormon), tick, tick...BOOM! will run from April 23 through May 19, 2024. The cast includes Daniel Marconi (Sweeney Todd) as Jon, Cathryn Wake (53% Of) as Susan, and John Yi (KPOP) as Michael.

Musical theater nerds can rejoice, George Street Playhouse is bringing back "Tick Tick... BOOM!," the posthumously produced musical by Jonathan Larson, best known for having written the widely known rock opera, "Rent."

Mile Square Theatre presents NJ Premiere of "Show Up, Kids!"

(HOBOKEN, NJ) -- Mile Square Theatre is pleased to announce their Theatre for Family and Young Audiences Production for their 2023-24 season: Show Up, Kids!, directed by Michole Biancosino, which has a four-week limited engagement at Mile Square Theatre from Wednesday, April 24 through Sunday, May 19, 2024. Show Up, Kids! is a semi-improvised comedy where a hapless host uses audience suggestions for the plot, props, characters, and setting of a completely original story.

The Madison Mostly Dance Festival '24

(MADISON, NJ) -- The Madison Mostly Dance Festival '24 takes place April 25 to May 5, 2024 and includes dance performances, films about dance, theater about dance, and music. Performances take place at the Madison Community Arts Center (10 Kings Road) in Madison, New Jersey.

The Summit Playhouse presents "Is He Dead?" by Mark Twain

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Summit Playhouse presents Is He Dead? from April 26 to May 11, 2024. This is a play by Mark Twain based on an earlier short story. In it, a young painter of genius is in love but in debt. To achieve fame and fortune, he fakes his death while passing himself off as his own sister. Now rich, he must find a way to get out of a dress, return to life, and marry his love.

The Premier Theatre Company presents "Spring Awakening" at the Navesink Library Theater

(ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) -- The Premier Theatre Company will present Spring Awakening at the Navesink Library Theater in Navesink (Atlantic Highlands), NJ on from April 26-28, 2024. Set in the Germany of 1891, Spring Awakening follows a group of adolescents through their struggles in the journey from adolescence to adulthood.

The Growing Stage presents the 2024 New Play-Reading Festival

(NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage: The Children's Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre on Route 183 in Netcong, New Jersey is thrilled to present the four finalists for their New Play-Reading Festival (April 26-28). The 2024 finalists include Bug & Junior: An Unfairytale by Ann Eskridge; Her-Cules by Matthew Hanf; Her Beautiful Sound by Cris Eli Blak; and Little Things by Bonnie Gleicher & Brandon Michael Lowden.  The New Play-Reading Festival is curated by Danny Campos, The Growing Stage's veteran actor and teaching artist.

West Hudson Arts & Theater Co presents "Disaster! The Musical"

(HARRISON, NJ) -- The West Hudson Arts & Theater Co (WHATCo) brings its Main Stage season to a close with a hilarious production of Disaster! The Musical for two weekends starting April 26th at The Theater at WHATCo. Disaster! comes to West Hudson straight from Broadway and features some of the most unforgettable songs of the '70s like “Knock on Wood," "Hooked on a Feeling," and "Hot Stuff."

The Black Crowes tour includes NYC, Atlantic City, and Philly shows

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Fresh off the heels of announcing their first album in 15 years, Happiness Bastards, legendary rock band The Black Crowes has announced their 2024 headline tour – set to hit 35 cities in North America and Europe this Spring in support of their forthcoming studio album. Locally the tour comes to Radio City Music Hall in NYC on April 27; Ovation Hall at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City on May 4; and The Met in Philadelphia on May 7, 2024.

Molière in the Park presents "The Miser"

(BROOKLYN, NJ) -- Molière in the Park, in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance and LeFrak Center at Lakeside, and in collaboration with Brooklyn Public Library, presents a re-imagined version of Molière's The Miser, translated and adapted by David Chambers, and directed by Molière in the Park's Founding Artistic Director Lucie Tiberghien. The Miser runs April 27 – May 19, 2024 for 21 performances in a limited engagement at Prospect Park’s LeFrak Center in Brooklyn. Enter at 171 East Drive between Ocean Avenue and Lincoln Road.

Hoboken Historical Museum Hosts Book Celebration & Signing with Jersey City Poet Laureate Ann E. Wallace

(HOBOKEN, NJ) -- The Hoboken Historical Museum and Poet-in-Residence Danny Shot will host a book celebration and book signing for the Jersey City Poet Laureate, Ann E. Wallace. This literary event takes place on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Hoboken Historical Museum. The event is free and begins at 4:00pm.
