Grounds For Sculpture to Present Slow Motion, Guest Curated by Monument Lab

(HAMILTON, NJ) -- Grounds For Sculpture (GFS) presents Slow Motion, an exhibition that expands the boundaries of contemporary sculpture through the use of unconventional materials and processes, guest curated by Monument Lab. Founded in 2012, Monument Lab is a nonprofit public art and history studio based in Philadelphia, which cultivates and facilitates critical conversations around the past, present, and future of monuments. Traditional approaches to monument-making emphasize durability, solidity, and myths of enduring permanence; however, Slow Motion, which will be on view from May 5, 2024 through September 1, 2025, will embrace the pleasures and possibilities of material transience.





 

Ellarslie Open 42 Awards Prizes to 10 Exhibiting Artists; Exhibition On View Until September 7th

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Ten of 119 exhibiting artists received awards during the Artists and Members Reception for Ellarslie Open 42 on Saturday, June 21 at the Trenton City Museum. The 2025 edition of the annual juried exhibition showcases 124 diverse works by artists of the greater Trenton and Bucks County areas and throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York – and one from North Carolina.



The Gallery at BEX presents Melissa M. Pepin: Traditions Reimagined

Zimmerli Exhibit Showcases Rarely Shown Large-Scale Nonconformist Art

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Painting to Scale, the latest exhibition at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, boasts rarely shown, large-scale artwork from the Norton and Nancy Dodge Collection of Nonconformist Art from the Soviet Union. The exhibit, which runs from November 13, 2024 through October 5, 2025, features 60 works by artists from Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, and Russia.

Alfa Art Gallery presents "The Mundane in Motion"

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Alfa Art Gallery presents the Summer 2025 NBAS Oil, Sculpture and Mixed Media Exhibition, The Mundane in Motion. This is a dynamic group exhibition that transforms everyday gestures into expressive visual language through painting and sculpture. The collection offers a glimpse into the emotional resonance of daily life, highlighting how color, texture, and movement can elevate the ordinary into moments of quiet reflection. The exhibition is free and open from August 26, 2025, until October 18, 2025.



Skylands Museum of Art presents Spotlight on the Artist: Massimo Rao

(LAFAYETTE, NJ) -- The Skylands Museum of Art presents a new fine art exhibition offering a Spotlight on the Artist: Massimo Rao, the Italian artist known for his classic yet somewhat mysterious painting style, opened Memorial Day weekend and will be on view through October 2025. The exhibition is on display in the museum's Sanctuary Gallery and highlights eight Rao works from the permanent collection, including oil and tempera paintings, lithographs and drawings, each of which serve to call attention to his unique creative perspective. Entrance to the Spotlight on the Artist is included with museum admission, a suggested donation of $10 per person.



Carroll Gallery presents "Tattoos: Modern Expression & Ancient Art"

Princeton University Art Museum presents solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Léni Paquet-Morante

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Léni Paquet-Morante: Extract / Abstract, an exhibition of recent works by the Hamilton, New Jersey–based painter, will be on display at the Princeton University Art Museum's ArtatBainbridge gallery from July 19 to November 9, 2025. Through a combination of process-driven imagery, abstraction, and color, Paquet-Morante's work reconfigures familiar landscape elements to capture the elusiveness of memory and dreams. Curated by Michael Quituisaca, a graduate student in Princeton’s Department of Art & Archaeology, the exhibition will showcase works by the artist across acrylic painting, ink drawing, and monoprints.



Zimmerli Celebrates Native American Artists With "Indigenous Identities"

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University-New Brunswick stands within Lenapehoking, the historical territory of the Lenni-Lenape people. The past melds with the present in February when the Zimmerli hosts Indigenous Identities: Here, Now & Always, described by Zimmerli officials as one of the largest, most comprehensive museum exhibitions of contemporary Native American art, featuring more than 100 works across a range of media, from beadwork and jewelry to video and painting.
