Evita

Friday, June 14, 2024 @ 7:00pm

Axelrod Performing Arts Center
100 Grant Avenue, Deal Park, NJ 07723

Arguably the greatest musical of the British Invasion of Broadway is Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita, the 1980 Tony Award winner for best musical. With a score adorned with hits, Evita is the smash pop opera about Eva Peron, a desperately driven woman who went from the streets of Buenos Aires to international celebrity to the highest levels of influence in Argentina. Both saint and a villain, Eva Peron rose from poverty to power and prosperity, and her passionate story is the stuff of the most energized dramatic musical of our time. The dazzling and beloved Lloyd Webber score includes such favorites as "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall," “Buenos Aires,” and "High Flying Adored."  REMEMBER JONES will be reprising his role as Che for this special Axelrod PAC production.
