THIS EVENT HAS PASSED

Malinda is a NY/DC based singer, songwriter and actor with a mission to make community through her art. Her debut EP, Love Letter, and her subsequent singles draw influence from folk, pop, and jazz. With the advent of her own music, Malinda is quickly becoming known for her strong sense of vocal storyline, balancing her pure (to quote her fans) “angelic” tone with a more powerful raw belt. She began her career as a professional actor in regional theatre, including originating the role of Ella in Ella Enchanted: the Musical and winning a Helen Hayes award for her portrayal of Girl in the DC regional premiere of ONCE. Her original work is a creative exploration of what it is to be a young person in our world today. Dubbed a “social media luminary” by the Washington Post, her YouTube content range from little conversations, to quirky tunes, to fully produced original music videos.

IT’S ALL TRUE – THE ALBUM

It’s All True MALINDA’s debut LP, It’s All True is a celebration of the beautiful dualities that life demands we sit with- fear and hope, worry and wisdom, anger and forgiveness, tragedy and joy. This autobiographical album shares the story of MALINDA’s move to New York City as she struggles with profound anxiety and losing her sense of self. She walks us through her quest to find home, heart, and community in a constantly changing world, charged by politics, loving relationships lost and found, and the COVID-19 pandemic. This indie folk album covers a range of styles, including pop, jazz, and classical with a signature loving nod to her Irish folk roots in a collection of songs carefully pieced together to allow you to fully embark on this journey with her. Every word, every lyric, every note comes straight from MALINDA’s heart… and it’s all true.

IT’S ALL TRUE TOUR

MALINDA welcomes us to the world of her debut full-length album It’s All True. Where the joy and tragedy, fear and empowerment, anger and forgiveness are all held in the same space, embracing the dualities and ups and downs of life. MALINDA adds her signature Irish flare with whistle and fiddle, incorporating history and tradition into how we process our current circumstances. Expect a lot of singing along, some Irish rhythms to make your feet tap and a folksy heart through the whole night.
