Friday, June 21 - Vivid Stage presents Banned in Boston: A Cabaret Fundraiser Showcasing Scenes and Songs from "Controversial" Plays. (SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage is presenting a cabaret as a fundraiser for the company on Friday, June 21, 2024. The Vivid Ensemble will perform scenes and songs from plays and musicals that have been banned, canceled or protested. The evening will include hors d'oeuvres, beverages and dessert. The party will be held at the Oakes Center (120 Morris Avenue) in Summit, from 7:00pm-9:30pm.

Saturday, June 22 - Blackmore's Night Returns to the Sherman Theater on June 22. (STROUDSBURG, PA) -- Blackmore's Night returns to the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA with special guests The Wizard's Consort on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Legendary guitarist formerly of Deep Purple and Rainbow, Ritchie Blackmore, and award winning vocalist Candice Night created a new genre of music for all ages..., inspired by many melodies of the Renaissance period, and Blackmoreized into contemporary music. They call it Renaissance/Folk/Rock. This is the sound of Blackmore’s Night.

Saturday, June 22 - "Jazz Goes to the Movies" Will Celebrate the Music and Stories Behind the Songs. Many jazz standards and today's most popular songs were first featured in films. On Saturday, June 22, an all-star ensemble featuring Don Braden on tenor saxophone and flute, David O’Rourke on guitar, Oscar Perez on piano, Bill Crow on bass, Karl Latham on drums, and Cydney Halpin on vocals will celebrate jazz in film with a concert called "Jazz Goes to the Movies" on the back deck at Morristown's Morris Museum. Audience members are invited to set up their own chairs and bring refreshments while enjoying the music and the sunset.

Saturday, June 22 - An Interview with Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night of Blackmore's Night. Long before Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night created the renaissance folk rock band Blackmore's Night, Ritchie told Guitar World that he longed to play medieval music.

Saturday, June 22 - State Theatre New Jersey presents Alan Cumming: Uncut. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Alan Cumming: Uncut on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 8:00pm. The multi-hyphenate, multi-award winning, multimedia mogul returns to STNJ with a new cabaret show, even more revealing, hilarious, and authentic than ever before. It is, in fact, Alan Cumming: Uncut. With musical direction by Henry Koperski.

Tuesday, June 25 - New Jersey Symphony to Have Free Summer Outdoor Concert at Ocean County College. (TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Ocean County College is thrilled to announce the return of a musical summer tradition! Join the community for a magical evening of live symphonic music with the New Jersey Symphony on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 8:00pm on OCC's main campus in Toms River. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Clinton Hill Community Action (CHCA) and NJPAC South Ward ArtsXChange present the South Ward Celebration Of Gospel, taking place on June 18, 2024, at Zion Hill Baptist Church (152 Osborne Terrace) in Newark from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This special event is a celebration of Gospel Music in honor of Black Music Month (June), showcasing the rich heritage and enduring legacy of Gospel music—from Spirituals to Praise and Worship Music.

Wednesday, June 19 - Three Generations of African-American Music Will Celebrate Juneteenth at Ardmore Music Hall. (ARDMORE, PA) -- Three generations of African-American music will converge on Ardmore Music Hall to celebrate Juneteenth (June 19) when New Orleans brass institution, The Soul Rebels, world-renowned trombonist and James Brown collaborator Fred Wesley, and bass legend Marcus Miller (who has performed with Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock among many others) join forces for a one-night-only funk, soul and jazz-influenced collaboration.

Wednesday, June 19 - Woodbridge Wednesdays presents Carolyn Wonderland. Friday, June 21 - Borgata presents "An Evening With John Legend: A Night of Songs and Stories". Friday, June 21 - Avery Sunshine and Eric Roberson to Perform at Caesar's during North to Shore Festival. Friday, June 21 - Make Music Day Newark to Take Place June 21st. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Arts Ed Newark joins a special collaboration between Newark Arts, Newark City Parks, The City of Newark, Newark Arts & Education District on Make Music Day Newark, a unique one-day event where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events take on the longest day of the year, June 21, 2024. Friday, June 21 - The Soul Rebels from New Orleans to Perform Three Nights at Blue Note (June 21-23). Sunday, June 23 - Grammy Award-Winning Vocalist Samara Joy to Perform at NJPAC for the First Time Since Winning the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. (NEWARK, NJ) -- 2X GRAMMY winner Samara Joy returns to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in a highly anticipated one-night only concert. This marks the first time she performs on the NJPAC stage as a headliner since her career-changing win in NJPAC's 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Showtime is 7:00pm.

Tuesday, June 25 - Black Box Studios presents Distant Cousins and Soulfarm at Debonair Music Hall on June 25th. Tuesday, June 25 - New Jersey Symphony to return to Raritan Bay Waterfront Park with Free Concert on June 26th. (SOUTH AMBOY, NJ) -- The Arts Institute of Middlesex County invites County residents and visitors to enjoy the sounds of the New Jersey Symphony against the backdrop of Raritan Bay Waterfront Park in South Amboy on Wednesday, June 26. Paper Mill Playhouse announces cast and creative for "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical". (MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the full cast and creative team for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, featuring a book by Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award nominee Douglas McGrath and words and music by Gerry Goffin & Carole King and Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil. Casey Hushion will helm the production, with choreography by Jennifer Werner and music direction by Wendy Bobbitt Cavett. Beautiful will play June 5 to July 3, 2024 at Paper Mill Playhouse. Playhouse 22 presents Award-Winning Musical, 'Memphis'. (EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Playhouse 22's 65th season closes this month with the musical Memphis which runs from June 7-23, 2024. Two River Theater presents August Wilson's "Gem of the Ocean". (RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater has announced the cast and creative team for August Wilson's Gem of the Ocean, the seventh production in Two River Theater's commitment to stage all ten of Wilson's visionary epics in the American Century Cycle, directed by San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Award Winner, Delicia Turner Sonnenberg (Appropriate, Trouble in Mind). The production runs June 8-30, 2024.

Vanguard Theater Company presents 'Pippin'. (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Vanguard Theater Company presents Pippin from June 13-30, 2024. Jersey City Theater Center presents Voices International Theatre Festival. Jersey City Theater Center located at 165 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, NJ (entrance from Barrow Street). 

A New Twist on Shakespeare Classic 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' at Kelsey Theatre June 14-23. (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- It's a modern twist on an all-time classic comedy when Shakespeare 70 presents William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream June 14-23, 2024 at the Kelsey Theatre on Mercer County Community College's (MCCC) West Windsor Campus. The generation gap, unrequited love, and marital misunderstandings have abounded throughout history, and so it is with this updated version of the Shakespeare classic.

Music Mountain Theatre presents "Avenue Q". (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre (MMT) presents Avenue Q for a three-weekend run from June 14-30, 2024. Avenue Q, the 2003 winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book, is part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart, and will be the eighth mainstage show of MMT's 2024 season.

Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey kicks off Outdoor Stage season with the comedy 'As You Like It'. (MADISON, NJ) -- Romance and laughter abound in Shakespeare's delightful comedy As You Like It, which kicks off the summer season at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. The beloved play, one of the most popular in Shakespeare's canon, will be presented on the Outdoor Stage at St. Elizabeth University from June 19 - July 14, 2024.

'Uncle Buck' actress Elaine Bromka to Bring 'Tea for Three: Lady Bird, Pat & Betty' to Cape May. (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Three former First Ladies will share some very intimate secrets during East Lynne Theater Company's critically acclaimed production of Tea for Three: Lady Bird, Pat & Betty from June 19 to July 6, 2024.

Brundage Park Playhouse presents Disney's 'The Little Mermaid' in July. (RANDOLPH, NJ) -- Brundage Park Playhouse presents Disney's The Little Mermaid across two weekends (July 19-21 and July 26-28). This is a stage musical produced by Disney Theatrical, based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name and the classic story by Hans Christian Andersen about a mermaid who dreams of the world above the sea and gives up her voice to find true love. It features a Book by Doug Wright; Music by Alan Menken; and Lyrics by Howard Ashman & Glen Slater.

Scott Ehrenpreis Shares His Inspiring Mental Health Journey in solo show, "Clowns Like Me". (NEW YORK, NY) -- Mental illness is no laughing matter, but in the new solo show Clowns Like Me, audience members are encouraged to laugh, cry and enjoy the ride into the unknown. Clowns Like Me will have its New York Off-Broadway Premiere at the DR2 Theatre this summer. The witty, timely, and inspiring story is based on Sarasota actor and storyteller Scott Ehrenpreis’ true life struggles with mental illness and its stigmas. The play was written by Jason Cannon, who also directs. Previews begin on June 21, for a limited engagement through August 18, 2024. Opening night is slated for Sunday, June 30 at 6:30pm.

Music Mountain Theatre to Celebrate Pride Night with 'Avenue Q' performance on June 22nd. (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- In celebration of Pride Month, Music Mountain Theatre (MMT) in Lambertville is hosting its annual Pride Night on Saturday, June 22, 2024. During the evening performance of Avenue Q, currently on the mainstage at MMT, audiences are encouraged to wear their rainbow colors to show their Pride and their support.

One-Man Show on Novelist and Activist James Baldwin Returns to Cape May in Honor of Juneteenth. (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- For the second year in a row, East Lynne Theater Company will host a Juneteenth staged reading of "Citizen James, or The Young Man Without a Country" to honor the national holiday. The free event will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Cape May Rotary Park Bandstand. Showtime is 2:30pm.

Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County presents 'Fiddler on the Roof' Concert with Rabbi Nathan Langer. (FREEHOLD, NJ) -- The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County (JHMOMC) presents special musical event featuring Rabbi Nathan Langer from The Freehold Jewish Center on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 2:00pm. In a vibrant celebration of culture and tradition, Rabbi Langer will lead a lively rendition of songs from the iconic film-turned-Broadway sensation, "Fiddler on the Roof." Admission is $30 for one ticket and $50 for two tickets.

Black Box presents a Staged Reading of 'All Over' by Edward Albee. (TEANECK, NJ) -- In association with The Estate of Edward Albee, Black Box presents All Over (1971) on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 at Debonair Music Hall. Showtime is 7:30pm. This is part of the company's exclusive staged reading series of all of Albee's plays. As described on the Edward Albee Society website, All Over takes place in a majestic townhouse as a great man lay dying.

The Theater Project presents Kaleidoscope Kabaret, an Annual Festival of Songs and Short Plays. (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- From June 28-30, 2024, The Theater Project presents Kaleidoscope Kabaret, its annual showcase of new work, at Luna Stage. Audiences are invited to see a variety of short plays by members of the company's Playwrights Workshop whose work has been performed in Canada, Great Britain, New York and around the US. This year's event also includes two plays by high school/college playwrights, past honorees of The Theater Project's annual Young Playwrights Competition. The Kabaret includes music performed by guest musicians, including Sandra Toll and David Tillestrand.

The Stage Comes Alive With the Yardley Players and 'The Sound of Music' at Kelsey Theatre. (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- One of the most beloved musicals of all time will light up the stage when the Yardley Players present The Sound of Music June 28 to July 7, 2024 at the Kelsey Theatre on the West Windsor Campus of Mercer County Community College (MCCC).

Ocean County Library Barnegat Branch to Present 'John and Abigail Adams: An American Love Story'. (BARNEGAT, NJ) -- Step back into our nation's earliest days to meet one of its most extraordinary couples. The Ocean County Library Barnegat Branch will present the American Historical Theatre's Peyton Dixon and Kim Hanley in "John and Abigail Adams: An American Love Story" on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00am.

Lauren O'Brien's "Lolo's Boyfriend Show" comes to Turn the Lights On Festival at Playhouse 46. (NEW YORK, NY) -- The charming, adventurous and witty Lolo is back with more show dates! Weaving together theater, multi-media, and music, award-winning performer Lauren O'Brien's hit solo show Lolo's Boyfriend Show, returns to NYC with 4 performances (July 5-14, 2024) at the Turn the Lights On Festival at Playhouse 46.

Centenary Stage Company's Summer Musical Series Includes 'Grease' and 'I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change'. (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- This summer, Centenary Stage Company presents the 2024 summer musical series featuring Grease and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Performances for Grease will run July 11–21 and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change will run August 1-11 in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center of the Centenary University campus in Hackettstown.

Premiere Stages presents "Still" - a play based on true events in 1850s NJ. (UNION, NJ) -- Premiere Stages at Kean University will present the premiere production of Still by Benjamin V. Marshall, the recipient of the 2023/24 Liberty Live Commission, July 11-28 in Kean University's Bauer Boucher Theatre Center. Directed by Marshall Jones III, Still will feature actors Ashley Nicole Baptiste, D. Malik Beckford, Brian D. Coats, Perri Gaffney, Carl Hendrick Louis, and Nafeesa Monroe.

Center Players presents 'Coyote' - an original musical about love & immigration. (FREEHOLD, NJ) -- Center Players presents Coyote, an original musical by Freehold resident Tim McCorry about love and immigration, at the Park Avenue Complex in Freehold, from July 19-28, 2024.

The Theater League of Clifton presents Madcap Whodunit "Murder on the Menu". (CLIFTON, NJ) -- The Theater League of Clifton will present its second dinner/theater production of the season, "Murder on the Menu," beginning on Saturday, July 20, 7:30pm, at Mario's Restaurant (710 Van Houten Ave) in Clifton.

Light Opera of New Jersey presents "Seussical". (WAYNE, NJ) -- Light Opera of New Jersey presents Seussical from August 9-11, 2024 at Rosen Performing Arts Center YMCA, in Wayne. Seussical is a fantastical magical, musical extravaganza! Step into the world of Dr. Seuss with LONJ's professionally staged production. The Theater Project presents "The Interpreter" by Joseph Vitale. (SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Theater Project, a leading incubator for rising talent and a showcase for New Jersey artists, will present award-winning playwright Joseph Vitale's thought-provoking play, The Interpreter, August 15-25, 2024 at the Oakes Center.

(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- Ugly Pancake Productions present School's Out Comedy Show showcasing teacher/comedians on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Middletown Arts Center. Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm. The ADULTS ONLY show stars comics Gina Dee, Jessica Miranda, Steve Schwartz, and Janet Regensberg (all current or former teachers), and is hosted by Joe Borzotta and Angelo Gingerelli (lifelong teacher's pets). Wednesday, June 19 - Kean University's new Center for Africana Studies to Host Juneteenth Jamboree. (UNION, NJ) -- Kean University's new Center for Africana Studies will host its first Juneteenth Jamboree on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 to celebrate the day slavery ended in the United States. The event, which is open to the public, comes as the University announces that Phi Beta Sigma, one of the oldest historically Black fraternities in the country, is joining the KEANetwork employee benefit program.
