originally published: 05/17/2024

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- This summer, Soup Can Magazine is thrilled to return to Atlantic City with Candemonium, a free music festival and food drive aimed at rocking the stage while raising awareness for a worthy cause.

Mission of Hope - Candemonium is not just a music festival; it's a mission of hope for the people of Atlantic City. The event will be held Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Sister Jean's Kitchen, a local resource center dedicated to alleviating the city’s food insecurity. The goal is to collect a substantial amount of non-perishable food items to support their vital work.

This event is part of the sophomore year of the statewide festival North to Shore, and promises an electrifying afternoon of live music while simultaneously tackling a pressing local issue. With performances by The Chris Rockwell Collective, Nick Nubz, DJ Flea Market, Vada Maverick, and Elle Vintage, Candemonium aims to ignite the hearts of music lovers and rally the community to a noble cause.

This year’s ambitious goal is to gather sufficient food donations to feed five hundred individuals, ensuring nourishment for the community while fostering a sense of unity and compassion. Candemonium is set to transcend the realm of entertainment, becoming a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of music and collective action. On June 23rd, Soup Can Magazine invites the general public to immerse themselves in an unforgettable musical experience while actively contributing to the well-being of Atlantic City.

The most needed items are Soup, with pop-top cans; Granola bars; Protein bars; Jerky; Pouches of tuna; Juice boxes/cans; Nuts; Pretzels; and Chips.

Elle Vintage a spoken word poet hailing from the vibrant streets of Atlantic City, has been shaking up the poetry scene for years with her raw, honest, and impactful performances. Recently gracing the stage at the Soup Can Magazine poetry showcase at the local favorite Ventnor Coffee, Elle captivated the audience with her powerful words, weaving narratives that resonate deeply with themes of mental health and racial equality. Beyond her performances, Elle is the host of Stage Left Podcast, a platform that amplifies the voices of creatives and provides a space for open dialogue about important issues.

Nick Nubz & NEW BR33D is a duo that combines the talents of two exceptional artists. Their music is a mix of Hip-Hop, R&B, and even pop influences, creating a sound that is both fresh and familiar. Their bars hit hard and they've got the beats to match.

Vada Maverick is a versatile artist who seamlessly blends Hip-Hop, soul, and poetry into his music. His rugged vocals, captivating stage presence, and heartfelt lyrics make him a standout talent.

DJ Flea Market rounds out the lineup with his eclectic mix of Hip-Hop, funk, and soul. Previously joining Soup Can Magazine at our inaugural Spoken Word Poetry Jam at the St. Laurent Social Club in Asbury Park, he's a welcome addition to Candemonium. His ability to read the crowd and keep the energy high will ensure the vibes are flawless from beginning to end.
