IMMERSING LISTENERS IN A UNIQUE UNIVERSE, NELLA DELIVERS A MODERN TAKE ON SOULFUL SONGS.

Born in Venezuela, Nella rapidly rose to international fame thanks to her powerful voice and undeniable presence. In a short period of time, she went from graduating from Berklee College of Music to winning the 2019 Latin GRAMMY® Award for Best New Artist. That same year, her full-length debut, Voy (I Go), produced by the award-winning Javier Limón for Casa Limón Records, garnered praise from NPR and featured the hit “Me Llaman Nella” (They Call Me Nella). The title track was named the 14th best song of 2019 by The New York Times, spanning all genres.

Merging Venezuela’s folkloric roots, modern production elements , and inspiration from Andalusia, Nella’s music echoes globally. She has sold out venues across the United States, Venezuela, Mexico, Spain, and the UK, and has performed with renowned artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Luis Enrique, and Susana Baca. She has also collaborated with Jennifer López, Juan Luis Guerra, Carlos Vives, Monsieur Periné, and Los Amigos Invisibles.

Academy® Award winner Asghar Farhadi invited Nella to join the A-list cast of his film Everybody Knows, alongside Academy® Award winners Javier Bardem, Ricardo Darín, and Penélope Cruz. Showcasing her talents, she performed songs written by Javier Limón exclusively for the screenplay. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to enthusiastic applause.

Nella’s voice has captivated notable musicians, including Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, who invited her to perform a song composed by him for a documentary on the artist Cruz Diez.

In early 2020, Nella signed with Sony Music Records and released her second album, Doce Margaritas, in 2021. She also participated in the HBO album and special Piano y Mujer with Irish-American pianist Arthur Hanlon, collaborating with great artists such as Kany García, Natalia Jiménez, Evaluna Montaner, and Goyo.

En Otra Vida is Nella’s third album, immersing listeners in a unique universe of talent with a distinct and delightful creative concept. Staying true to her original sound, Nella pays homage to the great women composers of Latin American music, offering new versions of classic songs and collaborating with artists, song-writers, who come together to celebrate Spanish-language composers.

Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites... 07/09/2026

"Very well; and you? We're hoping you can come to The Lizzie Rose on Friday July 31; come as our guest, come enjoy the racket, it's a wonderful room to play," laughed the always jovial Conrad Warre of the Boston based blues/rock band Bees Deluxe as he discussed that upcoming Tuckerton show, their stop at Jamey's House of Music, their upcoming new record, the International Blues Challenge and more.

Frank Hanavan: "Natural & Plus"

Frank Hanavan's Hoboken is wet. In his streetscapes, surfaces glisten. The sky is rarely glowering, but it does seem full; ready to have something to say, or wrapping up something that it is busy saying. The canopy of foliage that hangs over the streetcorners feels saturated with moisture. Even the shadows on the sidewalk are puddle blue. Businesses have their umbrellas open. A few people do, too.
