Here is a look at upcoming shows taking place from September 19-25, 2023 along with our featured listings. New Jersey Stage offers previews of concerts throughout the Garden State as well as select shows in New York City and Philadelphia areas. Click on the title to go to the full preview.

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Enjoy a double bill of two of music's most acclaimed vocalists -- folk legend Judy Collins and jazz mainstay Madeleine Peyroux -- at Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 7:30pm. Tickets range from $49-$89.

Saturday, September 23, 2023 - Monmouth University's Center for the Arts to Open Season with Willie Nile concert. (WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University's Center for the Arts will open the season with a concert by Willie Nile and opening act James Maddock on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 8:00pm. The concert takes place in the Pollak Theatre.

Saturday, September 23, 2023 - Outpost in the Burbs & Van Vleck House and Gardens to present OutpostFest at Van Vleck House and Gardens. (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Outpost in the Burbs and Van Vleck House and Gardens will present an outdoor festival - OutpostFest at Van Vleck House and Gardens, on Saturday, September 23, 2023. The family-friendly festival will take place from from 12:00pm - 6:00pm on the grounds of the Van Vleck House and Gardens, located at 21 Van Vleck Street in Montclair. The festival will include six acts on two stages featuring Nicole Atkins, Joe Pug, Freedy Johnston, Hodera, Debra Devi, and Adam Falcon.

Saturday, September 23, 2023 - Annual West Orange Jazz Festival Returns to the Beautiful OSPAC. (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- The Annual West Orange Jazz Festival returns to the Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center (OSPAC). This all day, outdoor festival will be on Saturday, September 23rd from 2:00pm-9:00pm. Pleasant Valley Productions' Board Member Lynette Sheard in conjunction with Gregory Burrus Productions curated another lineup of stellar musicians for the 2023 season. You are invited to 4 Boland Drive in West Orange NJ to experience a beer and wine garden, numerous food vendors and many community activities.

Thursday, September 21, 2023 - Westminster Conservatory Noontime Recitals begin September 21st. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- The 22nd season of Westminster Conservatory at Nassau will open on Thursday, September 21 at 12:15pm, with a recital of music for piano. The soloist, Clipper Erickson, is a member of the teaching faculty of Westminster Conservatory of Music. The recital will take place in the Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street, Princeton, New Jersey. It is open to the public free of charge.

Friday, September 22, 2023 - Fuerza Regida to Perform at Prudential Center. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Fuerza Regida, one of the most popular critically-acclaimed Mexican artists, announced his "Otra Peda Tour" which will bring the urban Mexican star to new cities and iconic venues. Fuerza Regida and Live Nation are continuing their tour production partnership, bringing a new 18-city "Otra Peda Tour" that kicks off in Los Angeles, CA, on July 15, and includes a stop at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, on Friday, September 22, 2023.

Friday, September 22, 2023 - The Hold Steady Announce Tour with NJ, PA, and NY shows. (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- The Hold Steady will continue to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their foundation with a number of newly announced live dates that include two shows in the area in September - White Eagle Hall on September 22nd WXPN's ExPoNential Music Festival September 23rd. The tour also includes four shows at the Brooklyn Bowl in NY November 29 through December 1-2.

Friday, September 22, 2023 - 2023 XPoNential Music Festival Announces Complete Schedule. (CAMDEN, NJ) -- The stage schedule has been announced for the 2023 XPoNential Music Festival presented by Subaru, the three-day outdoor festival produced by Philadelphia public radio station WXPN in partnership with the Camden County Board of Commissioners. The festival will take place from Friday, September 22 through Sunday, September 24 at Wiggins Park on the Delaware River in Camden, New Jersey.

Friday, September 22, 2023 - 2023 Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival Preview. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) –– Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty has added to the line-up for this year's free annual Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival, which takes place Friday September 22 and Saturday September 23, 2023. The music begins on Friday at 4:00pm on Pioneer Park (conveniently located between Headquarters Plaza and 1776 on Speedwell Avenue). The Saturday music will be held on the Morristown Green from noon until 10:00pm. As it has for the past two years, the Festival will honor two of its founders, Linda Smith and Michael Fabrizio, who both sadly passed away in June 2021.

Saturday, September 23, 2023 - Ocean Casino Resort presents Duran Duran. (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- British music icons, Duran Duran, take the stage on Saturday, September 23 at Ocean Casino Resort's Ovation Hall. They are known for their award winning songs such as "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Girls on Film", "Rio", "Ordinary World", and many more. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Saturday, September 23, 2023 - Union County Performing Arts Center presents Ryan Adams. (RAHWAY, NJ) -- The multi-Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Ryan Adams continues his prolific touring schedule with a twenty-two date solo tour across theaters in the United States in September and November 2023. The tour comes to the Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) in Rahway on Saturday, September 23rd. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Saturday, September 23, 2023 - Middlesex County presents a Roaring 20s Jazz Party outdoors at East Jersey Old Town Village. (PISCATAWAY, NJ) -- Middlesex County presents a Roaring 20s Jazz Party outdoors at East Jersey Old Town Village on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Catch the world-renowned Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra for an unforgettable jazz extravaganza. This event will also feature food, beverages, vintage cars, dance lessons from The Canarsie Wobblers, and much more! This free event is open to the public.

Saturday, September 23, 2023 - Third Annual Jazz & Roots Music Festival to Take Place at Kean University. (HILLSIDE, NJ) -- Kean University and internationally acclaimed bassist/producer Mike Griot will present the third annual Jazz & Roots Music Festival, a free, public, outdoor music event, on Saturday, September 23, 2023 in Hillside on The Lawn at Enlow Hall. The festival begins at 3:30pm. The lineup includes Third World, Stefon Harris & Blackout, King Solomon Hicks, and Prince Hakim.

Saturday, September 23, 2023 - Centenary Stage to Kick Off 2023-24 Season with The Company Men. (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company's 2023-24 Season will kick off with a Curtain Up! Gala concert performance by The Company Men on Saturday, September 23 at 8:00 pm. This performance will take place in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center on the campus of Centenary University. The Company Men are a four-man pop vocal group who mash today's top 40 hits with reimagined classics of the last eight decades.

Sunday, September 24, 2023 - Music at Bunker Hill to Open 16th Season with Dover Quartet. (SEWELL, NJ) -- Music at Bunker Hill opens its 16th season on Sunday, September 24, 2023 with a performance by Dover Quartet, including works by Haydn, Price, and Shostakovich. Sunday, September 24, 2023 - Middletown Arts Center presents September's "MAC Music Café". (MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The Middletown Arts Center presents the monthly MAC Music Café, an afternoon of live music performed by top-notch musicians, on Sunday, September 24 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. This month's singer-songwriter showcase features local talent Patrick Bamburak, Rick Dill, Gwynne Alden and Frank Patrouch. The concert will take place in the MAC theater. The event is free with a suggested donation of $5.

NJPAC Announces Lineup for 2024 Sounds of the City FREE Concerts

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Experience an amazing lineup of diverse artists under the stars this summer at New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) for exciting, FREE concerts during the Horizon Sounds of the City series every Thursday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. The series unites Newark's cultural diversity by bringing together residents, workers, and visitors for unforgettable evenings of great music, food, and fun. This year's lineup includes Brazilian percussionist Cyro Baptista, Afrobeat singer and artist Kofi Kinaata, New Orleans funk band Galactic f. Jelly Joseph, rap icon KRS-One, and New Orleans bounce singer Big Freedia. Some performances will also showcase a guest poet from Dodge Poetry, as well as local opening talent and NJPAC's student performers.
