Middlesex County presents a Roaring 20s Jazz Party outdoors at East Jersey Old Town Village

(PISCATAWAY, NJ) -- Middlesex County presents a Roaring 20s Jazz Party outdoors at East Jersey Old Town Village on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 11:00am to 5:00pm.  Catch the world-renowned Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra for an unforgettable jazz extravaganza. This event will also feature food, beverages, vintage cars, dance lessons from The Canarsie Wobblers, and much more! This free event is open to the public.

Join them for an outdoor party with Michael Arenella & His Dreamland Orchestra and the sounds of Queen Esther! Learn to cut a rug with dance lessons from The Canarsie Wobblers as we celebrate the centennial of the 'Charleston,' the defining song and dance of the 1920s created by New Brunswick’s own James P. Johnson.

Admission and parking are free. A free shuttle from New Brunswick Train Station will also be available. Attendees are advised to bring their own blanket and chair. Be sure to wear your best 20s attire! Click here to reserve a spot at the event.

You can watch Raconteur Radio present a live radio performance of The Great Gatsby; see suffragettes from the American Historical Theatre: Carrie Chapman Catt, Dora Lewis, Alice Paul; and Harlem Hell Fighters from the Ebony Doughboy will be roaming around.

East Jersey Old Town Village is located at 1050 River Road in Piscataway, New Jersey.

In partnership with REPLENISH and in honor of Hunger Action Awareness Month, the event will also be collecting nutritious food for residents in need. If you would like to help, please bring a non-perishable food item when attending the County’s Roaring 20s Jazz Party.

See live jazz performances across the County from September 28 - October 1, 2023, at the Middlesex County Jazz Festival series. Enjoy great jazz and experience the communities of New Brunswick, Woodbridge, Edison, Perth Amboy, and Metuchen through music, food, and fun.

An Interview with Tim Palmieri of Lotus

Lotus was founded between 1998-1999 at Goshen College in Goshen, IN. Now based out of Dever, Colorado and Philadelphia, PA primarily, Lotus continues to bloom as a premiere jamtronica band for over the past 25 years. In 2021, founding member and longtime guitarist, Micheal Rempel left Lotus ushering in new guitarist, Tim Palmieri.

Count Basie Center for the Arts presents Graham Nash

(RED BANK, NJ) -- Graham Nash, two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and founding member of both the Hollies and Crosby, Stills & Nash, will perform at Count Basie Center for the Arts on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Nash will be joined on stage by Todd Caldwell (keyboards and vocals), Adam Minkoff (bass, drums, guitars and vocals) and Zach Djanikian (guitars, mandolin, drums and vocals), performing favorites from across his sixty-year career. Showtime is 7:30pm.

The tour comes to Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) on Thursday, July 8, 2025 at 7:00pm.
