Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents "Romeo & Juliet" (MADISON, NJ) -- The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) presents Romeo and Juliet from September 10 to October 5, 2025 at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre on the campus of Drew University. This is one of the most enduring and influential tragedies in Western literature. The play is a cautionary tale about the tragic consequences of young love trying to exist amidst a world entrenched in hatred. South Camden Theatre Company presents "A Good Farmer" by Sharyn Rothstein (CAMDEN, NJ) -- South Camden Theatre Company presents A Good Farmer by Sharyn Rothstein weekends from September 5-21, 2025. This is a play about love, friendship, and finding the power to face what divides us.
Bridge Players Theatre Company presents "Sistas: The Musical" (BURLINGTON, NJ) -- Bridge Players Theatre Company presents Sistas: The Musical by Dorothy Marcic weekends from September 12-27, 2025 at the Broad Street United Methodist Church in Burlington. This is a joyful, soul-stirring celebration of Black women through music, memories, and sisterhood!
Classic American Tales presents "Tales at the Dormer House" (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 12 through October 16, 2025, Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents "Tales at the Dormer House" in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories by American authors. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting. Otherwise, they will be inside. Cost is only $12.00, cash at the door, and guests at The Dormer House and children ages 12 and under are free.
"Heathers, the Musical" returns to NYC (NEW YORK, NY) -- Producers Bill Kenwright LTD., Paul Taylor-Mills and Jerry Goehring are pleased to announce that after smash hit runs in London and on tour throughout the UK, a new production of Heathers the Musical will make its eagerly awaited return to New York City in June.

Leslie Odom, Jr. to Return as Aaron Burr in "Hamilton" (NEW YORK, NY) -- Tony and Grammy Award-winning, three-time Emmy and two-time Academy Award-nominated performer Leslie Odom, Jr. will make a highly anticipated return to Broadway this fall in his critically acclaimed, Tony Award-winning role as Aaron Burr in Hamilton. The original star is set to reprise his wildly successful and iconic portrayal of Aaron Burr, which comes nine years after he took his final bow in July 2016.

NJ Rep to present World Premiere of "Can't Run Can't Dance" by Gregg Henry (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company (NJRep) is proud to present the world premiere of Can’t Run Can't Dance, a wild new comedy by Gregg Henry - the prolific film and television actor best known for major roles in "Scandal," "Gilmore Girls," and Guardians of the Galaxy. This fresh theatrical caper, directed by Lisa James, will run from September 11 through October 5, 2025, with opening night set for Saturday, September 13 at 7:00pm.

The Barn Theatre presents "The Cottage" by Sandy Rustin (MONTVILLE, NJ) -- The Barn Theatre presents The Cottage by Sandy Rustin across 3 weekends from September 12-28, 2025. A romantic (and not quite murderous) comedy of manners. Inspired by Noël Coward, the play unfolds in the English countryside in 1923.
Playhouse 22 presents "If/Then" (EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Playhouse 22's 65th season opens with the musical "If/Then", a musical by Brian Yorkey with score by Tom Kitt. This is a contemporary musical that follows two distinct storylines in the life of Elizabeth, a city planner who moves back to New York to restart her life in this city of infinite possibilities. Lewis Center for the Arts presents 14th Seuls en Scène French Theater Festival (PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton University's Lewis Center for the Arts, Department of French and Italian, and L’Avant-Scène will present the 14th edition of Seuls en Scène French Theater Festival, which will take place from September 12-21, 2025 at venues across the University's campus. Most performances and talks will be in French, some with English supertitles or subtitles. All events are free and open to the public, however tickets are required for performances.
Cape May Stage presents "Dutch Masters" (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May Stage presents Dutch Masters by Greg Keller from September 12 to October 19, 2025. Set in 1992 New York City, Dutch Masters is a thought-provoking play that follows a chance encounter between two young men—one Black, one white—on a subway ride.
Two River Theater presents Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Links" (RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater presents the world-premiere of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Links, stylishly reimagined by Tony Award® winning director Darko Tresnjak (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder). Featuring numerous Tony Award® winners and nominees, both on and off stage, the production will run in the Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater from September 13 - October 5, 2025.
Bergen County Players to Open Season with "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" (ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP), one of America's longest-running little theater companies, will launch its 93rd season with the area premiere of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. This Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical phenomenon, based on the inspiring true story of the artist's remarkable journey from young songwriter to superstar solo artist, will run at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from September 13 through October 11, 2025.

The Theater Project presents a reading of "Define Good" by Stephanie Griffin (CRANFORD, NJ) -- The Theater Project will launch its 2025 New Play Readings series on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Cranford Community Center's 110-seat theater. Admission is free, with no registration required. NJCU's Center for the Arts presents "Assassins" (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- NJCU's Center for the Arts presents Assassins across two weekends from October 24 - November 2, 2025. Our nation's most notorious assassins gather on stage to violently pursue a twisted American Dream. The musical features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and Book by John Weidman. The production is directed by Marc G. Dalio.
Two River Theater presents World Premiere of "The Monsters" (RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater presents the world premiere of The Monsters, a sibling love story, written and directed by Ngozi Anyanwu (Good Grief, The Homecoming Queen, The Last of the Love Letters).
