
(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse's Summer Musical Theater Conservatory presents New Voices of 2026: On Vacation at Memorial Auditorium at Montclair State University. This is a world-premiere, full-scale concert that takes audiences on a musical journey around the world. Three performances take place over July 31 and August 1, 2026.
While Paper Mill Playhouse is under construction, New Voices packs its bags and heads to Montclair State University’s Memorial Auditorium for an unforgettable concert of songs that travel across America, through Europe, into the heart of New York City, and beyond to imaginary lands where anything is possible.
Featuring beloved musical theater favorites, On Vacation celebrates the thrill of discovery, the joy of the journey, and the places that transform us along the way. But no matter how far the music takes us, this year’s New Voices reminds us that there’s truly no place like home.
Performed by the students of Paper Mill Playhouse’s prestigious Summer Musical Theater Conservatory, New Voices is the culmination of five weeks of intensive training in acting, singing, and dance. Join us for an inspiring evening of musical favorites showcasing extraordinary young talent!
Performances take place Friday, July 31 at 7:30pm; and Saturday, August 1 at 1:30pm & 7:30pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. Memorial Auditorium is located at 1 E Normal Avenue in Montclair, New Jersey.
For aspiring performers ages 10 to 18, Paper Mill Playhouse’s Summer Musical Theater Conservatory represents the ultimate opportunity to take your skills to the next level. Rigorous classes in acting, auditioning, vocal technique and dance are the focus of every morning led by professional actors, directors, and our Paper Mill professional creative team. The five-week training course culminates in the annual New Voices Concert live on the Paper Mill stage. Our Conservatory builds professional skills—so if you have the passion, talent, and drive it takes to be a performer, then this is the program for you.
The Conservatory is designed to enhance performance skills while instilling the technique, discipline, and professionalism needed to excel in the performing arts. Based on talent and the quality of your audition, if admitted you will be grouped into classes that allow you to build your individual technique, learn about yourself as a performer, and explore your potential all while working on material appropriate to your age and skill set.* Audition appointments fill quickly so we encourage you to schedule a timeslot as soon as possible.
