Saturday, August 23 - NBPAC presents comedian Steve Hofstetter. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Author, columnist, and comedian Steve Hofstetter is often called the hardest working man in show-business. With all due respect to the late James Brown. See for yourself when he performs at New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC) on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Showtime is 7:30pm.

MUSIC

The Who Announce Shows in NJ, NY, PA for The Song is Over North America Farewell Tour. One of the greatest bands in rock history, The Who, have announced their bittersweet final tour of the US and Canada as a truly grand finale of their illustrious six-decade career. Fans will have several opportunities in the tri-state area to see the band one last time. Local shows include August 19th at Prudential Center in Newark, August 21st at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, August 23rd at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, and August 30th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Friday, August 22 - Levoy Theatre presents The Artimus Pyle Band – Honoring Ronnie Van Zant's Lynyrd Skynyrd. (MILLVILLE, NJ) -- The Levoy Theatre presents The Artimus Pyle Band on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 8:00pm. The band features Artimus Pyle, the last surviving member and drummer of the classic Lynyrd Skynyrd lineup & 2006 Rock & Roll HOF inductee with Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Saturday, August 23 - Music Box at the Borgata presents Hank Azaria and the EZ Street Band. (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Hank Azaria and the EZ Street Band are coming to Music Box at the Borgata on Saturday, August 23, 2025.  The show is truly 'A Springsteen Celebration': a joyful, reverential evening of incredible music, storytelling, audience interaction and hero worship. And it's all for charity, with net proceeds benefiting The Four Through Nine Foundation, founded by Azaria and committed to social justice, education and recovery causes. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Saturday, August 23 - 50th New Jersey Folk Festival to Take Place August 23rd. (SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The 50th New Jersey Folk Festival (NJFF) will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Davidson's Mill Pond Park. The festival is a celebration of New Jersey folklife, folk arts, and traditions. Admission is free and the festival runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Saturday, August 23 - Haddon Township's Summer of Love - 60s, 70s, 80s music festival takes place on Saturday. (HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- Haddon Township's Summer of Love - 60s, 70s, and 80s Music Festival returns to Haddon Township with a day-long celebration of music, community, and family fun on Saturday, August 23, 2025! This free event takes place on Haddon Avenue from 2:00pm to 10:00pm and features five live bands, a beer garden, food trucks, games, a kids zone, and a glow party finale.

Sunday, August 24 - "Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour" comes to Prudential Center in August. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Disney Concerts, Disney Branded Television and AEG Presents jointly revealed "Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour," a one-of-a-kind interactive live concert experience coming to Prudential Center on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 7:00pm. Joshua Colley from "Descendants: The Rise of Red" and Mekonnen Knife from "Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires" also have been added to the previously announced talent line-up of Kylie Cantrall, Freya Skye, Malia Baker, Malachi Barton and Dara Reneé.

Sunday, August 24 - Harmonium Choral Society to Hold Auditions for 2025-2026 Season. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Harmonium Choral Society will hold selective auditions for a limited number of openings in all voice parts for experienced singers with good sight-reading ability for the 2025-2026 concert season. Auditions will be held on select dates held by appointment starting August 24th going through September 3rd at Grace Church (4 Madison Avenue at Kings Road) in Madison.

Sunday, August 24 - Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association presents their 2025 Sacred Masterworks Concert: Arthur Honegger's King David. (OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association presents their 2025 Sacred Masterworks Concert: Arthur Honegger's King David on Sunday, August 24th at 7:00pm in The Great Auditorium. This dramatic and deeply moving work traces the life of the biblical king through an evocative blend of choral, orchestral, and solo passages.

Monday, August 25 - Mavis Staples to Perform on August 25 at Ocean City Music Pier. (OCEAN CITY, NJ) -- Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Mavis Staples will perform on Monday, August 25, 2025 at the Ocean City Music Pier on the Boardwalk in Ocean City. Special guest Jeffrey Gaines will open the night. Showtime is 7:00pm.

THEATRE

Classic American Tales presents "Tales at the Dormer House". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 12 through October 16, 2025, Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents "Tales at the Dormer House" in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories by American authors. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting. Otherwise, they will be inside. Cost is only $12.00, cash at the door, and guests at The Dormer House and children ages 12 and under are free.

"Heathers, the Musical" returns to NYC this summer. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Producers Bill Kenwright LTD., Paul Taylor-Mills and Jerry Goehring are pleased to announce that after smash hit runs in London and on tour throughout the UK, a new production of Heathers the Musical will make its eagerly awaited return to New York City in June.

Without a Clue Productions presents "Mrs. Roper Romp" and "A Golden Girls Murder Mystery: A Family Affair" at Resorts Casino Hotel. (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Without a Cue Productions heads to the Jersey Shore this summer with two cult classics coming to Atlantic City. Come for the caftan muumuus and stay for the Janet and Jack Tripper cocktails, as Mrs. Roper Romp brings the wild 70s fun to Resorts Casino Hotel. Don your best Mrs. Roper costume (and red curly haired wig!) and win fun prizes as you play party games and dance to Yacht rock inspired by the iconic hit show Three's Company. From the 70s to the 80s and early 90s, get ready to celebrate your favorite Golden Girls.

Cape May Stage presents "Sexy Laundry". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May Stage presents Sexy Laundry by Michele Riml from July 16 through August 24, 2025. The relatable storyline follows Alice and Henry, a long-married couple, attempting to reignite the spark in their relationship by escaping to a trendy hotel with a copy of the book Sex for Dummies in hand.

Challenge your inner sleuth in Cape May during "Clueless at the Physick Estate: Death of the Party". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- When the guest of honor at the birthday party is found dead, everyone is suspect. Was it the daughter, the business partner, the maid, or someone else? Hear their stories and accusations and see if you can guess "whodunit" in the interactive murder mystery "Clueless at the Physick Estate: Death of the Party" this summer at the Emlen Physick Estate (1048 Washington Street) in Cape May, as this original mystery unfolds from room to room.

Renowned West End Actor, Rohan Tickell, to Star in "Every Brilliant Thing" at East Lynne Theater Company. (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Acclaimed London-based actor Rohan Tickell is bringing his extraordinary talent to Cape May's award-winning, Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company, to star in Duncan Macmillan's globally celebrated play Every Brilliant Thing, running July 31 to August 30, 2025 at the new Clemans Theater for the Arts.

Music Mountain Theatre presents "Man of La Mancha". (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre presents Man of La Mancha weekends from August 8-24, 2025. One of the world's most popular musicals, it was inspired by Miguel de Cervantes' 17th-century masterwork Don Quixote and set during the Spanish Inquisition. The Theater Project presents "And in This Corner... Cassius Clay". (SUMMIT, NJ) -- In response to the body blows pummeling arts organizations nationwide, The Theater Project will deliver a one-two punch with the premier New Jersey production of And in This Corner... Cassius Clay, the centerpiece of its thirty-first summer season. Idris Goodwin's 2016 award-winning drama will run August 14–24, 2025 at the Oakes Center.

Spring Lake Theatre presents "The Sound of Music". (SPRING LAKE, NJ) -- Spring Lake Theatre presents The Sound of Music from August 14-24, 2025. This beloveded musical that tells the inspiring story of Maria, a spirited young woman studying to become a nun in Austria during the late 1930s.

The Streetcar Project presents "A Streetcar Named Desire" inside Asbury Park's Carousel House. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Streetcar Project is bringing its much discussed and perpetually sold-out version of Tennessee Williams's landmark American play, A Streetcar Named Desire, to Asbury Park's historically haunted Carousel House from August 17-19, 2025. Performances are presented in association with the Asbury Book Cooperative.

Surflight Theatre presents "Buddy, the Buddy Holly Story!". (BEACH HAVEN, NJ) -- Surflight Theatre brings back the Broadway hit musical Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story! from August 19 to September 7, 2025. Collin Yates stars as Buddy Holly in this journey through the legendary musician's life over the years (1936-1959, respectively). It is Collin's first time on the Surflight Theatre stage.

Classic American Tales presents stories by Alcott and Bierce, fables from Africa, and a lecture on women in theater. (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From August 21-28, 2025, Classic American Tales (CAT) presents three different events in two different Cape May locations: The historic Dormer House B&B and The Cape May Public Library.

"Twist of Faith" to Debut at 2025 Dream Up Festival. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Twist Of Faith, an original comedy-drama with music, will make its debut at Theater for the New City as part of the 2025 Dream Up Festival. The production will run for five performances from August 24-31 in the Johnson Theater. Set over the course of a single Jewish Sabbath, Twist of Faith follows the unexpected encounter between two deeply different young men—a meeting that challenges both of their assumptions and forever changes the trajectory of their lives.

North Star Theater Company to Hold Auditions for "Dear Edwina, Jr.". (OGDENSBURG, NJ) -- North Star Theater Company is holding auditions for their Fall Musical, Dear Edwina Jr., Monday, August 25, 2025 at North Star Studio. The auditions are open to students in Grades 3–8.

COMEDY

Tuesday, August 19 - Second City New York presents The Bentwood Open - An Improv Tournament. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Join The Second City New York for the inaugural year of The Bentwood Open, The Second City New York's improv tournament where 48 teams shall compete to win the cash prize of $1,959 and all the glory. The event will begin August 19 at 7:00pm and 9:30pm, occurring weekly through the finals, which are slated for November 4, 2025.

Saturday, August 23 - Centenary Stage Company's Summerfest 2025 presents Paula Poundstone. (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company closes out Summerfest 2025 by welcoming back, comedian Paula Poundstone to the Sitnik Stage for one night only on Saturday, August 23 at 8:00pm. Known for her smart, observational humor and frequent appearances on NPR's Wait Wait... Don’t Tell Me!, Paula Poundstone returns to Centenary Stage Company following her sold out performance in September of 2018.

Saturday, August 23 - 2025 Asbury Park Dance Festival to Take Place at House of Independents. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The 2025 Asbury Park Dance Festival takes place Saturday, August 23rd at House of Independents.
