"Yeah, I'm pretty far up," laughed singer/songwriter Adrian Sutherland as he discussed his new album "Precious Diamonds," his indigenous heritage and more. "I used to tune into AM radio at night because in the night it's really clear and you can pick up all of the U.S. radio stations and so I would tune into all of those stations but somebody had the brilliant idea to purchase a jukebox with a bunch of records in it and so, we had a jukebox at the local pool hall/arcade and as a kid I spent a lot of time there in the evenings and the Summer. We'd play those records and at the time we pretty much had everything in there; Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Neil Young, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and all of these artists from the '80s who were really popular. So, that's how I got my exposure to music coming out of the U.S. and we also had three channels on our TV and we had much music coming into light like an equivalent to MTV where they were making music videos and I was able to discover other artists through that whole experience as well."
