VANGUARDS is a celebration of some of the most treasured works from our archive with contemporary voices of today and new plays that reflect the promise of tomorrow. The common thread is that these works and artists found a home at Crossroads and have inspired the next generation of storytellers. The featured works include excerpts from classic works and new original plays that have origins on our stages.

Sussex County Resident's Original Play Selected to Be Performed at New York Theater Festival's "SummerFest 2025"

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Sparta resident Allison Ognibene, and lead faculty of Theater at Sussex County Community College (SCCC) has written an original play called "Mile 59" that will be featured in the renowned New York Theater Festival, "NY Summerfest" in June 2025 at the Hudson Guild Theater.

Center Players to Present NJ Premiere Reading of "Walking Charlie" by Gary Morgenstein

(FREEHOLD, NJ) -- As part of its monthly reading series, Center Players of Freehold will present the New Jersey premiere reading of award-winning playwright Gary Morgenstein's romantic dramedy Walking Charlie at The American Hotel (18-20 East Main Street) in Freehold on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 7:00pm.
