La Traviata presented by New Jersey Opera Theater

Sunday, May 18, 2025 @ 2:00pm

Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) - Main Stage
1601 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ 07065

Come experience Verdi’s most treasured masterpiece La traviata, a tragic opera about a courtesan who falls in love and tries to leave her life behind. Considered a classic of the genre, this beloved opera has inspired scenes in films such as Pretty Woman and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Although written in 1853, its themes of the hypocrisy of upper-class society, and the impossibility of escaping one’s social class and fate, all the while searching for true love, still resonate with audiences today.

This New Jersey Opera Theater production of La traviata features:

Conductor: Richard Nechamkin

Stage Director: Dennis Oliveira

Cast:

Violetta: Ky Montez

Alfredo: Jax Hassler

Germont: Charles Schneider

Flora: Michelle Blauman

Gastone: Mathew Tartza
