Hamilton Stage at Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) 360 Hamilton Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065
American Theater Group (ATG) presents the premiere staged reading of Pandora Scooter’s Mother’s Day, inspired by Marsha Norman’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play ‘Night Mother. The play centers around Sachi’s elderly, hardheaded Japanese mother, Kim, who has invited Sachi over for a special dinner. Kim informs Sachi it will be her last dinner, for afterwards she is going to end her life, and she wants her daughter to participate. Will Sachi be able to stop her mother — or will she assist her?
Pandora Scooter is a well-established playwright, director and actor who leads ATG’s PlayLab program for straight and queer BIPOC playwrights. Please join us for this first presentation of her exciting, thought-provoking new work. The reading is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
