“Jolly Sinatra Birthday Tribute”

Sunday, December 10, 2023 @ 2:00pm

Avon Municipal Building
2 Main Street, Avon-By-The-Sea, NJ 07717

A “Jolly Sinatra Birthday Tribute” event, presented by Karen Morris of Sand Castle Communications LLC, will honor the birthday and career of Frank Sinatra, with a dash of joyous holiday merriment. The cool, festive celebration will take place on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Avon Municipal Building, 2 Main Street, Avon-By-The-Sea, NJ. The seating, cozy and warm indoors, has a lovely view of the Avon marina.

Frank Sinatra, born on December 12, 1915 and passed on May 14, 1998, is regarded as one of the most popular, influential vocalists of the twentieth century.

As Chuck Granata, a leading expert on Frank Sinatra, points out in a recent interview (posted on the All About Jazz site), "Frank had a great 'ear.' And this was natural. This is something that came from God, really. It was a talent. He had a great ear, and without much musical training, he was able to take what he heard, and create something vocally that was different, and in the process become one of the most unique and preeminent vocalists of the 20th Century, in terms of pop and jazz music.”

This special event will spotlight the artistry of Mr. Sinatra, featuring a chat/lecture by prominent guest speaker, Chuck Granata, as well as live entertainment by singer, Zack Alexander.

Charles L. "Chuck” Granata is a writer, record producer, music historian and archivist. Mr. Granata is the author of 4 books, including the award-winning book Sessions with Sinatra: Frank Sinatra and the Art of Recording, as well as producer of Nancy Sinatra's program"Nancy for Frank" on Sirius-XM radio.

Zack Alexander, a marvelous vocalist and talented crooner, will perform a mix of holiday and classic Sinatra tunes.

A variety of Christmas songs, including seasonal favorites such as White Christmas, Let it Snow! and Happy Holiday are part of the swingin' repertoire.

Refreshments and sweet snacks will be served. The venue allows a BYOB, so toasting the 108th heavenly birthday of Frank Sinatra is possible, especially for those who bring their own alcoholic beverage of choice to the event.

Tickets are on sale now. Advance tickets are required to attend. For ticket info and code, contact Karen Morris at [email protected]

Venue parking is free and available in the Avon Municipal parking lot at 2 Main Street, Avon-By-The-Sea, NJ.

Presenter Karen Morris is an independent producer and founder of Sand Castle Communications LLC and The Rat Pack Music Alliance. She continues to develop music/talk inspired events to honor the memory and talent of Frank Sinatra.

Any good cook will tell you that reducing something doesn't always mean diminishing it. Sometimes it's the best way to intensify its personality. Size, we've learned in the era of streaming entertainment on tiny phone screens, does not determine how clearly a thing communicates. If it fills our senses, it can slip right into our bloodstream.
