STRIXMEDIA PRESENTS: “CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE” DOCUMENTARY

THIS EVENT HAS PASSED

When the COVID pandemic swept across our nation, everyone was affected. We all experienced the loss of friends, family, and comforts we thought were safely ours.  In northern New Jersey, a small town called Morristown was equally affected by the shutdown that led to countless job losses, business shutdowns, and life-altering circumstances. Closed Until Further Notice examines the lives of local business owners and their impossible journey to stay in business through the pandemic.

The Why:

The pandemic was unplanned and ever-changing. Uncertainty and last-minute decisions from local government plagued the small business community making it virtually impossible to conduct business and prepare for the future. We hope this documentary puts things in perspective the next time you buy from a big box store, leave a bad review or complain unreasonably to a business…they’re doing this all for you.

Initially, what started out as a small initiative to help local businesses gain more visibility, quickly turned into a “let’s just shoot a documentary and push it as far as we can go.” During inception, the goal was to make short video intros for each business, but we wanted to do something that was going to really impact each business. It became our mission to humanize these businesses and show people that there are living, breathing people behind these brands, storefronts, and logos. It was so important for us to shine a light on the unsung heroes who persevered through the pandemic to save their business and ultimately save Morristown, NJ.
