Passaic County Celebrates the Life of Frederick Law Olmsted

(PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ) -- The County of Passaic, in conjunction with the National Association of Olmsted Parks, is celebrating the life of Frederick Law Olmsted in honor of the 200th anniversary of his birth. Olmsted, widely considered the father of landscape architecture, will be celebrated throughout the year. Olmsted 200 events will engage the public through park tours, lectures and even a picnic.

Light Opera of New Jersey presents "In The Heights"

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Light Opera of New Jersey continues its 26th Season of operetta and musical theatre with a production of Tony award-winning In the Heights at South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC). Based on a book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, this is Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash hit musical. Performances take place July 15-17 and July 22-24, 2022.

Support Ukraine at SOPAC's Pop-Up Art Sale Fundraiser

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- On Sunday, May 1st from 1:00pm-4:00pm in the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) lobby, The Herb + Milly Iris Gallery at SOPAC in collaboration with Good Crowd Events and Fire in the Belly Art Making will host Art for Ukraine, a pop-up art sale fundraiser. All proceeds will be donated to Razom, an organization responding to the crisis in Ukraine.



State Theatre hosts Fête at the Farm to Celebrate Centennial Anniversary

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey will host Fête at the Farm, a gala event to Celebrate State Theatre New Jersey's Centennial Anniversary on Saturday, May 7, 2022. The State Theatre Benefit Gala will be hosted at historic Suydam Farms in Somerset, NJ. The event will include a seasonal, farm-to-table menu, beer specially brewed for State Theatre by Suydam Farms' own master brewers, and a performance by Tony(R) Award-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell. 



Meet the Artist New Play Readings on Wednesdays in May at Vivid Stage

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Vivid Stage, formerly Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, will present its annual Meet the Artist new play reading series on Wednesdays, May 4, 11, 18 and 25. All readings will take place at the Oakes Center at 7:30pm. This event is part of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance 2022 Stages Festival, made possible by support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts; Bank of America; The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey; OceanFirst Foundation; the George A. Ohl, Jr. Trust; New Jersey Historical Commission; and Fund for the New Jersey Blind.

MPAC Announces Free Summer Concert Lineup for 2026

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Mayo Performing Arts Center's Arts in the Community free summer concert schedule for 2026 has been announced. MPAC will present six free concerts between June and August. The lineup includes the return of three of their most popular events – Bollywood Dance Party, Country Line Dancing and Salsa at Sunset, as well as singer-songwriters, and more.

Classic American Tales' presents Tales at the Dormer House every Thursday

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 4 through October 15, 2026 (except for July 2), Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents Tales at the Dormer House in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories written by noteworthy authors, read by a variety of performers. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May, NJ. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting.

2026-27 Season Preview: Split Level Concerts at Jersey Shore Arts Center

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Split Level Concerts at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (JSAC) in Ocean Grove has announced the full concert lineup for its third season. All shows will take place beginning at 8:00pm in JSAC's Palaia Theater. The season lineup includes Willie Nile, John Gorka, Dan Bern, Catie Curtis and Band, Stephen Kellogg, Abbie Gardner, Heather Maloney and Band, and Kim Richey. As they have done in prior years, artists from the Asbury Park music scene will open many of the shows.
