Monmouth University presents "Fun Home"

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University's Department of Music and Theatre Arts presents Fun Home from November 11-20. Adapted from Alison Bechdel’s groundbreaking graphic novel, Fun Home is a refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes. In an effort to make the show accessible to as wide an audience as possible, they have decided to make the show free to the public. 



Brookdale Student Magazine Wins Gold Crown From Columbia University Scholastic Press Association

(MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ) -- The Brookdale Community College 51st edition of Collage, a magazine that showcases the highest caliber art, design, and literary pieces that Brookdale students create, was awarded the 2022 Gold Crown for Print Literary Magazines from Columbia University Scholastic Press Association (CSPA). In addition, the publication received a Gold Medalist Critique Rating and three All Columbian Honors for Essentials, Verbal, and Visual.



The Theater Project accepting submissions for 21st Young Playwrights Competition entries

(UNION, NJ) -- The Theater Project,  a leading incubator for rising talent and a showcase for New Jersey artists, is reaching out to high school students throughout the state for entries in the prestigious Young Playwrights Competition. The submission deadline for the 21st Young Playwrights Competition—one of the Northeast’s longest running creative competitions for high school-aged students—is January 23, 2023. Scripts, between 10-20 pages in play format must be original works, with no adaptations accepted.

Mile Square Theatre presents "Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol"

(HOBOKEN, NJ) -- Mile Square Theatre presents the second production of Kevin R. Free's first season as Artistic Director, of Tom Mula's Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol. Directed by Jenn Haltman, it will play a four-week limited engagement at Mile Square Theatre. Performances begin Thursday, December 1 and continue through Sunday, December 24.

NJPAC presents a Spring Season of Jazz

PBS' Independent Lens Launches 20th Season of Free Pop-Up Screening Series in Teaneck and Nationwide

(TEANECK, NJ) -- The award-winning PBS documentary series, INDEPENDENT LENS, presents the launch of the upcoming season of Indie Lens Pop-Up in partnership with the Teaneck International Film Festival and the Puffin Cultural Forum.
