Wednesday, May 1 - Vivid Stage presents Meet the Artist New Play Readings Wednesdays throughout May. Thursday, May 2 - bergenPAC presents Todd Rundgren: ME/WE. (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) presents Todd Rundgren: ME/WE on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 7:00pm. Tickets range from $39-$129. Friday, May 3 - bergenPAC presents Saxon & Uriah Heep: Hell, Fire & Chaos – The Best British Rock & Metal. (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) presents a night of the best British rock and metal with Saxon and Uriah Heep on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 8:00pm. Tickets range from $39-$99.

Friday, May 3 - Possibilities: An Evening of New Age Piano with Tommy Lepano. (SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ) -- Tommy Lepanow will perform an special evening of new, unreleased compositions at Lea Hall at All Saints' Episcopal Church on Friday, May 3, 2024. Lepano plays his eclectic piano pieces with emotions ranging from exhilarating to contemplative, somber to joyous -- all punctuated by his storytelling, as he shares what inspired their composition. Friday, May 3 - Bridge Players Theatre Company presents "Once Upon a Mattress". (BURLINGTON, NJ) -- Bridge Players Theatre Company presents Once Upon a Mattress across 3 weekends in May 2024. The popular play features Music by Mary Rogers; Lyrics by Marshall Barer, and Book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer. If you thought you knew the story of "The Princess and The Pea," you may be in for a walloping surprise!

Friday, May 3 - State Theatre New Jersey presents "The Kite Runner". (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents The Kite Runner, a play with music based on Khaled Hosseini's internationally best-selling novel for two performances on Friday, May 3 at 8:00pm and Saturday, May 4 at 8:00pm. Salar Nader, the renowned musician who dazzled audiences in the Broadway production, will reprise his role as tabla player for the tour.

Friday, May 3 - Let the Sunshine In! "Hair" is coming to CDC Theatre in Cranford. (CRANFORD, NJ) -- The American classic rock-musical Hair, the final production of the 105th season at CDC Theatre, celebrates the sixties counterculture in all its barefoot, long-haired, bell-bottomed, beaded and fringed glory. To an infectiously energetic rock beat, the show wows audiences with songs like "Aquarius," "Good Morning, Starshine," "Hair," "I Got Life" and "Let The Sunshine In." Exploring ideas of identity, community, global responsibility and peace, Hair remains as relevant as ever as it examines what it means to be a young person in a changing world.

Friday, May 3 - Elephant & Piggie's "We Are In A Play!" ARRIVES at The Growing Stage. (NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage: The Children's Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theatre on Route 183 in Netcong, New Jersey is thrilled to present the final main stage production of the 2023-2024 season, ELEPHANT & PIGGIE'S "We Are In A Play!" from May 3-19.  Based on the Elephant & Piggie books by Mo Willems, this production has Book & Lyrics by Mo Willems  and Music by Deborah Wicks La Puma.

Friday, May 3 - Music Mountain Theatre presents "Tuck Everlasting". (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- Music Mountain Theatre presents Tuck Everlasting across three weekends (May 3-19, 2024). Based on the children's novel by Natalie Babbitt, Tuck Everlasting is a new musical about love, family, and living life to the fullest.

Friday, May 3 - Constantine Maroulis and Teal Wicks to Star in World Premiere of "East Carson Street". (HOLMDEL, NJ) -- East Carson Street, a world-premiere rock musical written by local rocker Joe Grushecky, will herald the opening of the new Bell Theater in the historic Bell Works complex in Holmdel from May 3-12, 2024. The show features music and lyrics by Grushecky, an iconic musician best known for his work with the Iron City Houserockers and his collaborations with Bruce Springsteen, with whom he co-wrote two songs in the musical. The book is by Jonathan Rosenberg (Americano!, House of Dreams) and direction is by Daniel Kutner (Prince of Broadway).

Saturday, May 4 - The Vogel presents Early Elton Trio. (RED BANK, NJ) -- The Vogel presents Early Elton Trio on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 7:30pm. Early Elton Trio is a tribute to the Elton John, Dee Murray and Nigel Olsson trio tours of 1970 – 1972 featuring Jeff Kazee (piano, vocals) and John Conte (bass and vocals) from Southside Johnny And The Asbury Jukes (piano, vocals), along with Rich Pagano (drums and vocals) of The Fab Faux.

Saturday, May 4 - The Ocean County College Concert Band presents "A Musical World Tour". (TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- The Ocean County College Concert Band proudly presents its spring concert, "A Musical World Tour," on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Grunin Center for the Arts, located on OCC's main campus on College Drive in Toms River. Showtime is 7:00pm.

Sunday, May 5 - Franksgiving Spring Event Will Give Away Sinatra Goodies. (AVON-BY-THE-SEA, NJ) -- Thanksgiving is a wonderful November holiday, a time of gratitude and goodwill, but arriving this spring, Franksgiving will be celebrated!

Tuesday, April 30 - RVCC Student Jazz Ensemble to Perform on April 30th. (BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College's (RVCC) Student Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 7:30pm. The concert will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College's Branchburg campus. The group is directed by RVCC faculty member Dr. Oliver Santana.

Ocean Casino Resort presents An Intimate Evening with Godsmack. (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The multi-platinum Grammy-nominated hard rock band Godsmack will be hitting the road in 2024 — but doing things a little differently than their usual pyrotechnic arena show they will be stripping things down as their "acoustic and electric performances and untold stories as their Vibez Tour in 2024 , which comes to Ocean Casino Resort's Ovation Hall on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 9:00pm.

RVCC presents StevieMac: A Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks Experience. (BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College will conclude its 40th season on a musical note with a performance by StevieMac: A Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks Experience on Friday, May 3, at 8:00pm.

Saturday, May 4

Sum 41 Announces Final World Tour; includes shows in Asbury Park, NYC, and Philly. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Grammy-nominated band Sum 41 has announced their last headlining world tour, 'Tour Of The Setting Sum', to celebrate the upcoming release of their final album Heaven :x: Hell. Sum 41 will be making stops in the United States, Japan, Mexico, Germany, Italy, and more before playing their final show as a band in Toronto, Ontario, at Scotiabank Arena on January 30, 2025. Locally, the band comes to The Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park on May 4th; Brooklyn Paramount in NYC on May 6th; and the Skyline Stage at The Mann in Philadelphia on May 18th.

The Sieminski Theater presents "The Beat Goes On" - Cher Tribute Show. (BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- The Sieminski Theater presents "The Beat Goes On," the acclaimed Cher tribute show starring Lisa McClowry, on Saturday, May 4, 2024. With performances at 2:30pm & 7:30pm, this theatrical marvel celebrates the iconic career of the one and only Goddess of Pop, Cher. The show is a nostalgic and vibrant journey through the music legend's discography that will leave you feeling like you've just witnessed Cher in concert!

Symphony in C Presents New World Symphony featuring Hao Zhou. (CAMDEN, NJ) -- New Jersey-based young professionals orchestra Symphony in C presents violinist Hao Zhou in the program New World Symphony on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts's Gordon Theater. Hao Zhou, who is the Principal Violinist of Symphony in C and has been praised as a "personal, impassioned, courageous, and unostentatiously brilliant" violinist by Musical America, performs Florence Price’s Violin Concerto No. 1 on a program alongside Bernstein's On the Town – Three Dance Episodes and Dvo?ák's "New World Symphony" led by Symphony in C's Music Director, Noam Aviel. Showtime is 8:00pm.

English Duo to Headline 4th Annual Washington Rock 'n' Roll and Steampunk Fair. (WASHINGTON, NJ) -- The 4th Annual Washington Rock 'n' Roll and Steampunk Fair will be headlined by Victor and the Bully, direct from England. The event takes place Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10:00am-5:00pm. The Steampunk Fair combines the steam-powered Victorian Era energy of the classic science fiction genre with a punk and rock 'n' roll feel that makes for an amazing day of retro-futuristic fun.

Albert Music Hall presents Presley in the Pines. (WARETOWN, NJ) -- Albert Music Hall presents Presley in the Pines on Saturday, May 4, 2024. It is their first ever tribute to the King of Rock-n-Roll with music from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. Bands will be playing music from his early hits of the 50's straight through to his last songs of the 70's.

The Dunellen Theatre presents Faster Pussycat with special guests Johnny Nasty Boots and RAHWAY. (DUNELLEN, NJ) -- The Dunellen Theatre presents Faster Pussycat with special guests Johnny Nasty Boots and RAHWAY on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Doors are at 6:00pm, showtime is 7:00pm.

English Opera "Dido and Aeneas" to be performed in Morristown. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- On Saturday, May 4, 2024 at St. Mary's Abbey of Morristown, a musical merger between the Somerset Hills Chorus of Music in the Somerset Hills (MISH) and the Trenton-based LOTUS Chorale is bound to generate an electric performance of Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, one of the first English operas ever written. Showtime is 7:00pm.

 New Jersey Youth Symphony to Celebrate 45th Anniversary at NJPAC. (NEWARK, NJ) -- The New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS), a program of Wharton Arts, will present its 45th Anniversary Celebration Concert on Sunday, May 5 at 3:00pm at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark. Experience a grand celebration of the Garden State's premier youth orchestra program as its three full symphony orchestras and Jazz Orchestra come together with alumni for a triumphant concert commemorating the 45th season. Special guest stars George Marriner Maull of The Discovery Orchestra and jazz legend Rufus Reid join the jubilee led by NJYS conductors Dion Tucker, Mark Gunderman, Simon Lipskar, and Helen H. Cha-Pyo. The celebratory program features works by Holst, Copland, Rufus Reid, Valerie Coleman, James Ra, and Respighi.

Trombonist Mariel Bildsten Leads Quartet at May Jersey Jazz LIVE! in Madison. (MADISON, NJ) -- Trombonist Mariel Bildsten moved from Santa Barbara, CA, to New York to study jazz at the New School's School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. She remained in New York after graduating in 2015 and has become an integral part of the New York/New Jersey jazz scene. DownBeat Magazine calls her "irrepressibly spontaneous."

Paper Mill Playhouse presents "Gun & Powder". (MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse presents Gun & Powder from April 4 – May 5, 2024. The new musical features book and lyrics by Angelica Chéri and music by Ross Baum. Directed by Stevie Walker-Webb, choreographed by Tiffany Rea-Fisher and music directed by Austin Cook, Gun & Powder is a new musical inspired by the true story of Mary (Renée) and Martha Clarke (LaFontaine), African American twin sisters who take extraordinary measures to settle their mother’s sharecropper debt and save her home.

Ella Dershowitz and Jill Eikenberry to Star in World Premiere of "Two Hander" at NJ Rep. (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company (NJRep) will continue its 27th Season with the World Premiere of Two Hander by Julia Blauvelt, directed by NJ Rep Artistic Director SuzAnne Barabas. The play stars Ella Dershowitz and Jill Eikenberry and runs from April 18 through May 12, 2024.

The MTM Players presents "Nunsense" at Kelsey Theatre. (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Tainted food, nuns in freezers, and lots of laughs are in store when The MTM Players brings the hilarious musical comedy Nunsense to the Kelsey Theatre stage, April 19 to May 5, 2024, on Mercer County Community College's (MCCC) West Windsor Campus.

Bergen County Players presents "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time". (ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP), one of America's longest-running little theater companies, concludes its 2023-2024 mainstage season with the critically acclaimed, Tony Award-winning play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, and directed by Alyson Cohn of Wyckoff, this play tells the story of Christopher Boone, a 15-year-old who is wrongly accused of killing his neighbor's dog.

The Summit Playhouse presents "Is He Dead?" by Mark Twain. (SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Summit Playhouse presents Is He Dead? from April 26 to May 11, 2024. This is a play by Mark Twain based on an earlier short story. In it, a young painter of genius is in love but in debt. To achieve fame and fortune, he fakes his death while passing himself off as his own sister. Now rich, he must find a way to get out of a dress, return to life, and marry his love.

West Hudson Arts & Theater Co presents "Disaster! The Musical". (HARRISON, NJ) -- The West Hudson Arts & Theater Co (WHATCo) brings its Main Stage season to a close with a hilarious production of Disaster! The Musical for two weekends starting April 26th at The Theater at WHATCo. Disaster! comes to West Hudson straight from Broadway and features some of the most unforgettable songs of the '70s like “Knock on Wood," "Hooked on a Feeling," and "Hot Stuff."

South Camden Theatre Company presents "Kill Move Paradise". (CAMDEN, NJ) -- South Camden Theatre Company's 2024 season opens with Philadelphia playwright James Ijames's powerful and satirical play, Kill Move Paradise which runs across three weekends (April 26-28, May 3-5, May 10-12, 2024.). This play explores the themes of stereotypes, fear, and threat of death that black men of all ages face every day. Kill Move Paradise is a drama about police brutality against Black men and women.

OffBook Productions presents North NJ regional premiere of "When Monica Met Hillary". (HACKENSACK, NJ) -- OffBook Productions presents Winter Miller's play When Monica Met Hillary from May 3-12, 2024 at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center. Directed by founding director Laura Iacometta, the play spans a 20+ year timeline, following the lives of Monica Lewinsky and Hillary Clinton, accompanied by Lewinsky's mother Marcia Lewis and Clinton advisor Huma Abedin. Miller's play first premiered at Miami New Drama in 2022. OffBook’s production will mark the North Jersey regional premiere.

South Street Players presents "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)". (SPRING LAKE, NJ) -- South Street Players presents "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" in Wesley Hall across two weekends from May 3-12, 2024. This play parodies the plays of William Shakespeare with all of them being performed in comically shortened or merged form by only three actors. The production is produced and directed by SSP Board Member Rob Sullivan.

Chatham Community Players presents "Nine". (CHATHAM, NJ) -- The Chatham Community Players concludes its 102nd Season with the critically acclaimed and modern musical classic, Nine with music & lyrics by Maury Yeston and book by Arthur Kopit from May 3-18, 2024 at The Chatham Playhouse (23 North Passaic Ave) in Chatham. Based on iconic film director Federico Fellini's legendary work "8 1/2", this spectacular musical adaptation features one man and the dozens of women in his life. Celebrated but impetuous film director, Guido Contini, succumbing to the pressures of filming his latest film epic, suffers a midlife crisis.

Celebrate the Kentucky Derby with "Derby Day," a Run for the Roses-Themed Living Movie. (SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- Grab your fascinator and head to "Derby Day," a Kentucky Derby-themed comedic "living movie" written by SPQR Stage Company's Artistic Director Bill Sterritt on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Studio;Space in Somers Point. Andrew Polec to Perform at Two River Theater's 30th Anniversary Gala. (RED BANK, NJ) -- Guests of Two River Theater's 30th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, May 4, 2024, can expect an unforgettable night featuring an electric performance from Andrew Polec (Hair, The Beautiful Lady – Taghim for Bat Out Of Hell) who recently starred in Two River's production of the American Love-Rock Musical Hair, as the rebellious and rambunctious Berger. Saturday, May 4 - NJPAC presents Scottish comedian Daniel Sloss. (NEWARK, NJ) -- Scotland's comedy superstar Daniel Sloss brings his new solo show, Can't to New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on Sunday, May 4, 2024 at 7:30pm. He has created over a dozen solo shows, has performed eight New York seasons off-Broadway, appeared on "Conan" ten times, and broken box office records at the world's biggest arts festival, The Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Friday, May 3 - New Jersey Ballet to Reveal a New Era of Creative Energy at NJPAC. The film asks the question: What does it mean to listen? An exploration of musicality set against a theft.

Saturday, May 4 - bergenPAC presents An Evening with Richard Dreyfuss and Screening of "Jaws". (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) presents an intimate evening with Academy Award-, BAFTA- and Golden Globe-winning actor, Richard Dreyfuss, on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 7:00pm. Richard will share his stories of a 40-year career in Hollywood, covering all topics, from acting to civic engagement, courage and seeking understanding. The night includes a screening of "Jaws".

Saturday, May 4 - Mick Jagger & Anita Pallenberg Electrify the Screen at The ShowRoom. (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Philadelphia's scariest new haunted attraction is reopening its doors for a one-night only pop-up event on Saturday, May 4th. Lincoln Mill Haunted House presents May the 4th Corrupt You, a brand new Star Wars inspired haunted house. A long time ago, in a town not so far away, there was a textile mill where many workers were tortured. Among them, was a dark force that corrupted the minds of the living. Recently, this evil force has returned.
