1) "Gigantar" to be Unveiled in Asbury Park on Saturday - (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- A 24-foot guitar, named “Gigantar" by its creator - sculptor / world-renowned Artist Shannon (MacDonald), born and raised in New Jersey, has chosen The Stone Pony in Asbury Park as the place of unveiling before it takes its five-state journey from New Jersey to Illinois… where its final destination and permanent home will be on the great wall of the “Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66”.

2) Taino's Kitchen Cuts Ribbon On New Downtown Newark Location - (NEWARK, NJ) -- Taino’s Kitchen, a family-owned Puerto Rican restaurant that has operated since 2014 on Mount Prospect Avenue in the North Ward of Newark has now expanded to Downtown Newark. Taino’s Kitchen opened its second location at 85 Halsey Street, on the corner of Halsey Street and Linden Street. Taino’s first location is located at 849 Mount Prospect Avenue. Signature dishes at the restaurant will be mofongo and traditional appetizers such as alcapurrias, empanadas and relleno de papa.   

3) Bordentown Regional High School Theatre presents "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" - (BORDENTOWN, NJ) -- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, will be presented across three performances February 24-25 at the Bordentown Performing Arts Center by the award-winning theatre students of Bordentown Regional High School. A trio of engaging Narrators tells the magical, musical story of Joseph, whose jealous brothers inadvertently set him on a journey from obscurity to fame and power. With catchy songs in a variety of styles, this jubilant musical about family, dreams, and an Elvis-inspired Pharaoh will entertain and delight the whole family.  

4) Light of Day WinterFest 2023 Schedule and Lineups - (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Light of Day Foundation has announced WinterFest 2023, the annual music festival taking place January 7-20 in Asbury Park, Red Bank, Montclair, New York City and Philadelphia.

5) "The Best Man: The Final Chapters," Filmed In Jersey, Premiered on Peacock on December 22 - (NEWARK, NJ) -- The latest installment of the popular and successful The Best Man franchise returned to New Jersey for the filming of its conclusion. The Best Man: The Final Chapters will bring viewers up-to-date on the lives of its endearing characters Lance (Morris Chestnut), Shelby (Melissa De Sousa), Harper (Taye Diggs), Candy (Regina Hall), Quentin (Terrence Howard), Robyn (Sanaa Lathan), Jordan (Nia Long), and Julian (Harold Perrineau). Relationships evolve and past grievances resurface in the unpredictable stages of midlife crisis meets midlife renaissance.

6) MPAC presents Kevin James: the Irregardless Tour - (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- TV and film star Kevin James will perform an evening of stand-up comedy at Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 8:00pm. Kevin James began his career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom.

7) Makin Waves with Colossal Street Jam: Beyond Happy to be Back - Colossal Street Jam will celebrate “No Way to Live,” their first album in four years, on Feb. 10 at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park with a release party that also will feature the bands of album guests Anthony Krizan and Desiree Spinks.

8) M. Night Shyamalan Returned to South Jersey to Film "Knock at the Cabin" - (BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ) -- M. Night Shyamalan returned to South Jersey to film his upcoming apocalyptic horror film Knock at the Cabin, which just wrapped. The film marks the 15th feature film produced and directed by Shyamalan, with Jarin Blaschke as cinematographer. Produced by Binding Edge Pictures and Universal Pictures, Knock at the Cabin will be released by Universal on February 3, 2023. The principal photography was done in Burlington County.

9) Ramapo College Foundation to Honor Three Distinguished Citizens - (MAHWAH, NJ) -- The Ramapo College Foundation is pleased to announce that it will honor four individuals for their personal and professional commitment to advance higher education and for their significant service to the Ramapo College community at its Annual Distinguished Citizens Gala scheduled for Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Rockleigh Country Club.

11) 2023 NJ Jazz Society Scholarship Competition Now Accepting Applications - The 2023 New Jersey Jazz Society Juried Scholarship Competition is now accepting applications. The competition is open to all New Jersey college students currently enrolled in a college undergraduate music program. And, this year, the it will also be open to New Jersey residents who are currently enrolled in an out-of-state college undergraduate program. Proof of residency is required.

12) Ocean County Library to Honor Black History Month, Presidents' Day with American Historical Theatre - (TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- In honor of Black History Month and Presidents’ Day, the American Historical Theatre will re-create three notable Americans, whose lives spanned three centuries, at the Ocean County Library. Appearances will take place at three branches: Toms River, Barnegat, and Jackson.

13) Bordentown Students Win At 2023 New Jersey State Thespian Festival - (ROBBINSVILLE, NJ) -- Members of Bordentown Regional High School International Thespian Society Troupe 6803 spent this past weekend acting, singing, and dancing their way through the 2023 New Jersey State Thespian Festival, held January 7-8th at Robbinsville High School. 

14) Newark Museum Of Art presents Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Day: Acts Of Kindness - (NEWARK, NJ) -- On Monday, January 16 from noon to 5:00pm, the Newark Museum of Art presents a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy, his teachings of social justice, and service to the community.
