A Place of Honor - This film recounts the lived experiences of veterans and gold star family members from before, through and after the war who found renewed purpose and meaning in their lives when they decided to create the only memorial and museum dedicated to the lives lost in Vietnam. **Additionally - as part of this storytelling initiative, "In Our Shoes"(5 minutes) tells the stories of the objects and artifacts that returned home with vets, "Remembrance" (7 minutes) is the story of the last New Jersey Gold Star Mother of the Vietnam War, "Why it Matters (7 mins) tells the origin story of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial & Museum.  Directed by vanessa roth (00:32:00) Asbury Park Premiere



Changed Environments, Shape Behaviors - Darryl Speights is a lifetime resident of the West Side of Asbury Park New Jersey. He details his life history and his current aspirations to inspire change. Directed by Michael Max Nitkowski (00:09:15) World Premiere



Honoring Our Heroes - The Monmouth County Clerk's Office offers a discount program for veterans and Gold Star Family members, and is calling on area businesses to participate in "Honoring Our Heroes." Directed by Brian Noreika (00:00:30) New Jersey Premiere



PTSD: The Invisible Enemy - Since the beginning of the Global War on Terror over 30,000 military veterans have taken their own lives due to the truama and the effects of PTSD. Add to this an aging population of Vietnam era veterans and we are seeing close to 44 suicides per day. PTSD: The Invisible Enemy is an explanation of many of the symptoms and causes of PTSD with the intention to spread awareness and the hope to prevent a useless loss of life. 2026 New Jersey International Film Festival to Take Place from May 29th to June 7th

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The Rutgers Film Co-op/New Jersey Media Arts Center, in association with the Rutgers University Program in Cinema Studies, presents the 2026 New Jersey International Film Festival which marks their 31st Anniversary. The NJIFF competition will be taking place on the Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between May 29 - June 7, 2026 and will be a hybrid one as they will be presenting it online as well as doing in-person screenings at Rutgers University.
