George Street Playhouse presents "Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Jersey Christmas Show"  (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse presents Ebenezer Scrooge's Big Jersey Christmas Show from December 2-21, 2025. Written by Gordon Greenberg (Holiday Inn, Dracula!) and Steve Rosen (The Other Josh Cohen) and directed by Greenberg, it is based on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and gives the holiday classic a Jersey twist. Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play"  (MADISON, NJ) -- The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) presents It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, running December 3-28, 2025 at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre on the campus of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. This brings the beloved holiday classic to life in the format of a 1940s radio broadcast — complete with microphones, sound effects, and a talented ensemble of actors. The Growing Stage presents "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"  (NETCONG, NJ) -- The Growing Stage presents Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer weekends from December 5-21, 2025 at the Historic Palace Theatre. Cameron Knight Leads the Cast as Ebenezer Scrooge in McCarter Theatre's "A Christmas Carol"  (PRINCETON, NJ) -- A holiday tradition for 45 years, McCarter Theatre Center's annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol returns December 9–28, 2025. Adapted and directed by Lauren Keating, this year’s production offers a fresh perspective on the classic story of redemption and generosity. Cameron Knight leads the cast as Ebenezer Scrooge, with music direction by Cris Frisco and choreographer Emily Maltby. Click here for a video about the production.

American Theater Group presents "It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play"  (BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- American Theater Group (ATG) presents Joe Landry's It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play running December 5-7, 2025 at the Sieminski Theater in Basking Ridge and December 12-21, 2025 at the DMK Black Box Theater in Union.

Ocean County College Repertory Theater Company presents Broadway for the Holidays 5  (TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Ocean County College Repertory Theater Company presents Broadway for the Holidays 5 in the Black Box Theater of the Grunin Center for the Arts across two weekends from December 12-21, 2025. Returning by popular demand, this festive extravaganza brings the magic of Broadway to the holiday season like never before.

Kean Stage presents L'Chaim - A Toast to the Jewish Legacy of Broadway  (HILLSIDE, NJ) -- Kean Stage presents L'Chaim - A Toast to the Jewish Legacy of Broadway on Saturday, December 20, 2025 in Enlow Recital Hall. From the stages of the Lower East Side to the bright lights of Broadway, this is a musical journey that pays tribute to the Jewish legacy of musical theatre by exploring and celebrating the unique role of Jewish composers and lyricists.

Quintessence Theatre presents "The Pirates of Penzance"  (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Quintessence Theatre continues its 16th season with The Pirates of Penzance, the beloved comic opera by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, from November 19, 2025 to January 4, 2026. Directed by Quintessence Artistic Director Alex Burns, the resplendent and hilarious story follows a band of pirates who go to battle with the British bobbies over the hearts of a bevy of beautiful Cornish maidens, with only a Major- General and Queen Victoria to stand in their way.

Cape May Stage presents the World Premiere of "Let's Catch Santa"  (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May Stage presents the World Premiere of Let's Catch Santa from November 19 through December 28, 2025. This is a new holiday play by Dan McCormick that combines magic, humor, hope and the Christmas spirit. The production is directed by Roy Steinberg.

SoHo Playhouse presents the U.S. premiere of "What If They Ate The Baby?"  (NEW YORK, NY) -- SoHo Playhouse presents the U.S. premiere of What If They Ate The Baby?, written, directed and performed by the playhouse's artists in residence, Xhloe Rice and Natasha Roland, running Off-Broadway November 19 - December 22, 2025 for 25 performances in a limited 5-week engagement.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents Disney's "Frozen"  (MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse presents Disney's Frozen from November 26 through Sunday, January 11, 2026. This musical transforms the magic of the beloved animated film to the stage in an enchanting adventure. When sisters Elsa and Anna are torn apart by a mysterious secret power, they each set out on their own journey of courage, self-acceptance, and discovery of love in all its forms.

Arden Children's Theatre presents "A Wrinkle In Time"  (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- This winter, Arden Children's Theatre invites families to journey across time and space with an exciting adaptation of Madeline L'Engle's beloved book, A Wrinkle in Time. Adapted by John Glore, winner of the Newbery Medal, A Wrinkle in Time has inspired generations of readers, and even a major motion picture, since its publication. Now, the Arden brings this timeless classic to its stage for the first time. The production runs from December 3 through January 25, 2026.

Surflight Theatre presents "Elf, The Musical"  (BEACH HAVEN, NJ) -- The ever popular holiday production of Elf The Musical, back for the first time since 2018, opened at Surflight Theatre on November 29th and runs through December 21, 2025. Elf The Musical is based on a motion picture of the same name with a score by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin. The book is adapted by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan from the 2003 film.

Cirque du Soleil presents "'Twas the Night Before..." at The Theater at MSG  (NEW YORK, NY) -- Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) announced that, due to overwhelming success, the celebrated holiday theatrical 'Twas the Night Before... by Cirque du Soleil is returning to The Theater at Madison Square Garden for a limited engagement this holiday season from December 4-28, 2025.

Vanguard Theater Company presents "Into The Woods"  (MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Vanguard Theater Company presents Into The Woods from December 4-21, 2025. James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.

New Jersey Repertory Company presents "Just Another Day" by Dan Lauria  (LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company presents Just Another Day by Dan Lauria from December 4-20, 2025. Eric Krebs directs Dan Lauria and Patty McCormack in a different kind of love story.

Ritz Theatre Company presents "Goldilocks & The House of Ginger"  (HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- The Ritz Theatre Company presents Goldilocks & The House of Ginger weekends from December 5-21, 2025. From the zany minds of Bruce Curless and Brian Bacon comes another Christmas Musical Pantomime that is sure to have you laughing in the aisles!

Masquerade Theatre presents "Little Women"  (RIVERSIDE, NJ) -- Masquerade Theatre presents Little Women weekends from December 5-20, 2025. Based on Louisa May Alcott's American classic, this Civil War story of love and family stands the test of time. Little Women features a Book by Allan Knee; Music by Jason Howland; and Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.

Haddonfield Plays and Players presents "Fiddler on the Roof"  (HADDONFIELD, NJ) -- Haddonfield Plays and Players presents Fiddler on the Roof weekends from December 5-20, 2025. The award-winning tale of Tevye the Dairyman and his family’s struggles in a changing Russia is a true musical theatre tradition.

Somerset Valley Players presents "The 24 Days Before Christmas"  (HILLSBOROUGH, NJ) -- The Somerset Valley Players presents The 24 Days Before Christmas weekends from December 5-21, 2025. Adapted by Jason Pizzarello with a Book and Story by Madeleine L’Engle. The production is directed by Emily M. Muller.

McCarter Theatre Welcomes Audiences to a Magical Holiday Season with "A Christmas Carol"  (PRINCETON, NJ) -- McCarter Theatre invites audiences to celebrate the holiday season with the return of its beloved production of A Christmas Carol, filled with music, magic, and the timeless spirit of generosity. This year's production features acclaimed actor Cameron Knight in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.

Bergen County Players presents "SPIN: The Rumpelstiltskin Musical"  (ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP) continues its 93rd season with a special holiday run of SPIN: The Rumpelstiltskin Musical, returning to the Little Firehouse Theatre nearly four decades after its original BCP production in 1986. With music by Neil Fishman, and book and lyrics by Harvey Edelman, the holiday family show runs December 6-21, 2025 and is directed by Bunny Mateosian.

Bristol Riverside Theatre presents the World Premiere of "The Nice List"  (BRISTOL, PA) -- Bristol Riverside Theatre (BRT) welcomes the holiday season with the world premiere of The Nice List, a lively musical filled with songs, humor, and plenty of Christmas cheer. This merry new production invites audiences of all ages to embark on a cheerful adventure straight from Santa's North Pole. Emmy Award-winning director Alan Muraoka leads this joyful production with music direction by Gary Adler. The production runs December 9-28, 2025.

The Broadway Theatre of Pitman presents "Irving Berlin's White Christmas, The Musical"  (PITMAN, NJ) -- The Broadway Theatre of Pitman presents Irving Berlin's White Christmas, The Musical weekends from December 12-21, 2025. This holiday classic is enjoyable for all ages.

Nutley Little Theatre presents "Uh Oh, Here Comes Christmas"  (NUTLEY, NJ) -- Nutley Little Theatre presents Uh Oh, Here Comes Christmas from December 12-20, 2025. The play, written by Robert Fulgham, takes a funny, heartwarming and often poignant look at the struggle to find the spirit of the holidays amid the avalanche of commercialism, stress and chaos that crashes down every December.

Brundage Park Playhouse presents "Miracle on 34th Street"  (RANDOLPH, NJ) -- Brundage Park Playhouse presents Miracle on 34th Street weekends from December 12-21, 2025. Come celebrate the holiday season with a play adapted from the novel by Valentine Davies. The production is directed by J Cavaliere.

Playhouse 22 presents "A Merry Little Christmas Carol"  (EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The holiday season is in full swing at Playhouse 22 with "A Merry Little Christmas Carol". This is a new take on the old Charles Dickens classic by Mark Shanahan and directed by Erik Hall. Performances run weekends from December 12-21, 2025.

New Hope Arts presents "A Levittown Christmas Carol"  (NEW HOPE, PA) -- After four sold-out performances in 2024, A Levittown Christmas Carol returns to the New Hope Arts stage with an expanded run and a fresh new vision. The original musical by Righteous Jolly and David Garrett Shaw - takes a gritty, hilarious, and heartfelt spin on reimagining of Dickens' holiday classic and has evolved dramatically further since its debut. With a sharper story, new cast members, added songs, and enhanced production design, this year's show promises to be even more powerful and unforgettable. Limited performances run December 12–14 & December 18–20, 2025.

Skyline Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of "Joy Meets Girl"  (BLOOMFIELD, NJ) -- Skyline Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of Joy Meets Girl weekends from December 13-21, 2025 at The Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center. In the play we meet Addie, a true holiday enthusiast until she starts to doubt putting her focus on tinsel and cheer. It takes her best friend to help her find her true JOY!

Bergen County Players presents "It's A Wonderful Life: A BCP Radio Play"  (ORADELL, NJ) -- Bergen County Players (BCP) will present a heartwarming, inventive take on the beloved holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life with a special reimagined stage production across two weekends from December 13-20, 2025. Combining Frank Capra's legendary film with the celebrated radio play by Lux Radio Theatre, this adaptation promises a unique theatrical experience honoring the timeless story of love, redemption, and the enduring spirit of the holidays.

Lantern Theater Company presents Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol  (PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Lantern Theater Company continues its 2025/26 season with a remount of its original adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, commissioned and developed through the Lantern's New Play Program and co-created by Philadelphia theater artists Anthony Lawton, Christopher Colucci, and Thom Weaver. The production runs from December 13-28, 2025, at St. Stephen’s Theater in Center City Philadelphia.

Pixie Dust Players Presents "SUFFS JR."  (WEST ORANGE, NJ) -- Fresh from Broadway, the musical based on suffragists and the American women's suffrage movement, has been reimagined for young performers as Pixie Dust Players presents SUFFS JR., running December 13-21, 2025 at the JCC Metrowest.

Manhattan Theatre Club presents "Bug" by Tracy Letts  (NEW YORK, NY) -- Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) presents the Broadway premiere of Bug, written by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts (August: Osage County, The Minutes) and directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer (Prayer for the French Republic at MTC, The Band's Visit). The production begins performances on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). Opening night is Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Night Stories: 4 Tales of Reanimation by the Greatest Poet of the Holocaust - Avrom Sutzkever - Comes to Life Off- Broadway  (NEW YORK, NY) -- Night Stories, comprising four tales of reanimation by Yiddish poet and resistance fighter Avrom Sutzkever, will be presented Off-Broadway direct from a South American tour through São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. Night Stories makes its official Off-Broadway bow at Wild Project, 195 E. 3rd Street (between Aves. A & B), with performances from December 17, 2025 through January 11, 2026.

Gateway Playhouse Adds An Extra Sunday Matinee Performance of 'Scrooge The Musical' on December 21st  (SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- Due to demand, Gateway Playhouse has added an extra Sunday matinee performance to the successful run of their holiday show "Scrooge the Musical" on December 21, 2025 at 2:00pm. This will be the last opportunity for audiences to see what the South Jersey Theatre Critics have called "a must-see."

The Ma'ayanot H.S. Drama Society & Black Box Studios presents "Fiddler On The Roof"  (TEANECK, NJ) -- The Ma'ayanot Yeshiva High School Drama Society, in ongoing partnership with Black Box Studios, presents three performances of Fiddler On The Roof from December 27-30, 2025 at Ma'ayanot Performing Arts Center. Winner of nine Tony Awards when it debuted in 1964, this musical is the brainchild of Broadway legends, Jerome Robbins and Harold Prince; songwriters, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick; and bookwriter, Joseph Stein. Touching audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth and honesty, this universal show is a staple of the musical theatre canon.

Count Basie Center for the Arts presents Langston Hughes' "Black Nativity" on December 28th  (RED BANK, NJ) -- Count Basie Center for the Arts presents Langston Hughes' Black Nativity on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 4:00pm. A joyous retelling of the traditional Nativity story in music, dance and verse, Black Nativity is a Gospel "song play" based on the Gospel of St. Luke, using the poetry of Langston Hughes and performed by an all-Black cast of singers, actors, dancers and musicians.

The Ritz Theatre Company presents "Company" by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth  (HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- The Ritz Theatre Company presents Company by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth weekends from January 9 to February 1, 2026. The musical asks the question: what does it mean to be alive, alone, and in love in the city that never sleeps?

Westfield Community Players presents "Time Stands Still" by Donald Margulies  (WESTFIELD, NJ) -- Westfield Community Players presents Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies across three weekends from January 10-24, 2026. The play focuses on Sarah and James, a photojournalist and a foreign correspondent trying to find happiness in a world that seems to have gone crazy.

Ruth Stage presents "At Home at the Zoo"  (OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Ruth Stage is roaring back to the Jersey Shore Arts Center with a theatrical event of rare significance: Edward Albee’s At Home at the Zoo — the complete and fully realized version of The Zoo Story, presented with the approval of the Edward Albee Estate. Performances take place January 15-17, 2025 at the Jersey Shore Arts Center.

Two River Theater's A Little Shakespeare presents "As You Like It"  (RED BANK, NJ) -- Two River Theater's signature arts education program, A Little Shakespeare, adapted and directed by Noelle Marion returns to the helm with As You Like It.
