McCarter Theatre Welcomes Audiences to a Magical Holiday Season with "A Christmas Carol"

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- McCarter Theatre invites audiences to celebrate the holiday season with the return of its beloved production of A Christmas Carol, filled with music, magic, and the timeless spirit of generosity. This year's production features acclaimed actor Cameron Knight in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.

“Scrooge is a character of Shakespearean magnitude,” said Artistic Director Sarah Rasmussen. “Cameron’s deep sense of humanity and love of language brings something truly special to this production.”

Knight serves as Head of the Acting Program at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. His extensive theater credits include performances at McCarter Theatre Center, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Texas Shakespeare Festival, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, and the Utah Shakespeare Festival. His screen work includes The OrvilleChicago MedBlue Bloods, and the films Widows (directed by Steve McQueen), The World Without You, and Sister Carrie.

Holiday Concessions Package

Patrons may pre-order Holiday Concessions Packages when purchasing tickets. Packages will be prepared in advance and available for pickup in the Lockwood Lobby beginning one hour before showtime — a festive and convenient way to enhance the theatre experience.

Holiday Food Drive

McCarter Theatre Center is collecting donations to support Mercer Street Friends. Suggested food items include canned protein, soup, vegetables, beans, fruit packed without syrup, grains, peanut butter, milk, spices, condiments, and oil — please, no glass. Non-food items such as cleaning products, toiletries, paper towels, and aluminum foil are also welcome. Donations can be dropped off in front of the Box Office during regular hours (Tuesday–Saturday, 12:00pm to 6:00pm) or during performances of A Christmas Carol. Thank you for helping brighten the holidays for our neighbors in need!
