Thursday, August 28 - George Street Playhouse to Host One Night Performance of "My First Ex-Husband" Written and Starring Joy Behar. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- George Street Playhouse will host performances of My First Ex-Husband, written and performed by Joy Behar. Directed by Randal Myler, it will be presented on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. Showtimes are 3:00pm & 7:30pm.

Friday, August 29 - Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Katie Henry on Friday. (TUCKERTON, NJ) -- The Lizzie Rose Music Room presents Katie Henry on Friday, August 29, 2025. Doors open at 7:00pm, showtime is 7:30pm. The New Jersey singer-songwriter might have started out banging on doors, braving New York's blues clubs, playing piano until her fingers bled, and winning over the city one show at a time. But lately, the multi-instrumentalist has raced through career milestones at a rocket pace.

Pollak Gallery presents "Into the Wild" Art Exhibit by Eileen Kennedy. (WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University's Pollak Gallery presents "Into the Wild" Art Exhibit by Eileen Kennedy from September 1 through October 25, 2005. Kennedy's narrative art explores the relationship between contemporary humans and the natural world. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Tuesday, August 26 - Rock Back in Time: "The 1950's Experience" at the Ocean County Library Long Beach Island Branch. (SURF CITY, NJ) -- See what audiences far and wide are raving about as you’re transported to a golden period in American culture. The Ocean County Library Long Beach Island Branch is pleased to present singer-musician Kevin Grace's musical one-man show "The 1950's Experience" on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 6:30pm.

Tuesday, August 26 - The Nick Moss Band featuring Dennis Gruenling to Perform in Red Bank. (RED BANK, NJ) -- Award-winning traditional electric Chicago blues group The Nick Moss Band Featuring Dennis Gruenling - 2024 winners of the prestigious Blues Music Award for Band Of The Year – will perform as part of the Reckless Steamy Nights Concert Series at the Woman's Club of Red Bank in Red Bank on Friday, September 26, 2025.

Wednesday, August 27 - Bowling for Soup to Play Stone Pony Summer Stage. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Bowling For Soup have spent the last 30 years proving they’re one of the most fun, engaging, and downright entertaining live bands on the planet. If the sun's out and BFS are on stage, you're in for a party, complete with massive singalongs, off-the-cuff comedy, and an energy that makes even the biggest stages feel like a backyard hangout. Thursday, August 28 - The Newton Theatre presents Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel. (NEWTON, NJ) -- Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel will perform at The Newton Theatre on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 8:00pm. Duane Betts ignites and brings an evolution to the Southern rock tradition.

Thursday, August 28 - Steve Forbert to Play Two Shows in New Jersey. Steve Forbert is touring in support of his wonderful album, Daylight Savings Time, and has a pair of shows coming up in New Jersey. He will be performing in Matawan's Terhune Park on Thursday, August 28th and at Stangl Stage in Flemington on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Saturday, August 30 - Stroudfest 2025 Returns to Downtown Stroudsburg for a Day of Music, Food, and Community. (STROUDSBURG, PA) -- The 19th annual Stroudfest is happening on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 11:00am to 6:00pm, and you're invited to join the party in the heart of Downtown Stroudsburg. This end-of-summer celebration has become a local tradition, drawing thousands of people for a full day of live music, great food, local shopping, and community.

THEATRE

Classic American Tales presents "Tales at the Dormer House". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From June 12 through October 16, 2025, Classic American Tales (CAT) once more presents "Tales at the Dormer House" in which guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories by American authors. The schedule is 4:00pm every Thursday at the historic Dormer House Bed and Breakfast (800 Columbia Avenue) in Cape May. Performances are on the front porch, weather permitting. Otherwise, they will be inside. Cost is only $12.00, cash at the door, and guests at The Dormer House and children ages 12 and under are free.

"Heathers, the Musical" returns to NYC this summer. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Producers Bill Kenwright LTD., Paul Taylor-Mills and Jerry Goehring are pleased to announce that after smash hit runs in London and on tour throughout the UK, a new production of Heathers the Musical will make its eagerly awaited return to New York City in June.

Challenge your inner sleuth in Cape May during "Clueless at the Physick Estate: Death of the Party". (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- When the guest of honor at the birthday party is found dead, everyone is suspect. Was it the daughter, the business partner, the maid, or someone else? Hear their stories and accusations and see if you can guess "whodunit" in the interactive murder mystery "Clueless at the Physick Estate: Death of the Party" this summer at the Emlen Physick Estate (1048 Washington Street) in Cape May, as this original mystery unfolds from room to room.

Renowned West End Actor, Rohan Tickell, to Star in "Every Brilliant Thing" at East Lynne Theater Company. (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Acclaimed London-based actor Rohan Tickell is bringing his extraordinary talent to Cape May's award-winning, Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company, to star in Duncan Macmillan's globally celebrated play Every Brilliant Thing, running July 31 to August 30, 2025 at the new Clemans Theater for the Arts.

Surflight Theatre presents "Buddy, the Buddy Holly Story!". (BEACH HAVEN, NJ) -- Surflight Theatre brings back the Broadway hit musical Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story! from August 19 to September 7, 2025. Collin Yates stars as Buddy Holly in this journey through the legendary musician's life over the years (1936-1959, respectively). It is Collin's first time on the Surflight Theatre stage.

Classic American Tales presents stories by Alcott and Bierce, fables from Africa, and a lecture on women in theater. (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- From August 21-28, 2025, Classic American Tales (CAT) presents three different events in two different Cape May locations: The historic Dormer House B&B and The Cape May Public Library.

"Twist of Faith" to Debut at 2025 Dream Up Festival. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Twist Of Faith, an original comedy-drama with music, will make its debut at Theater for the New City as part of the 2025 Dream Up Festival. The production will run for five performances from August 24-31 in the Johnson Theater. Set over the course of a single Jewish Sabbath, Twist of Faith follows the unexpected encounter between two deeply different young men—a meeting that challenges both of their assumptions and forever changes the trajectory of their lives.

Holmdel Theatre Company to Hold Auditions for "Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson - Apt. 2B". (HOLMDEL, NJ) -- On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Holmdel Theatre Company will hold auditions for their first full Main-Stage production since April 2024 — Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson - Apt. 2B by Kate Hamill. This is a sharp, sassy, modern twist on a classic mystery! The production will be directed by Tina Barone.

Set in New York City on the Brink of a New Millennium, "The Boys From Kingsbridge" Makes Its NY Premiere. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Set in New York City on the brink of a new millennium, the New York Premiere of The Boy From Kingsbridge captures the grit and energy of 1999. Written by Steven Sarao, the two-hander stars James Lorinz and Sarao as childhood friends who grow up to become NYPD officers. Directed by Anna Rebek, the play runs for seven performances from August 27 through September 5, 2025 as part of the Dream Up Festival at Theater for the New City.

East Lynne Theater Company Hosts Special Stockton University Night at 'Every Brilliant Thing'. (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May's award-winning, Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company, will host a special evening for Stockton University students to experience Duncan Macmillan's globally celebrated play Every Brilliant Thing on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Part of the "Talkback Thursday" mental health sessions that have taken place throughout the run of the show, this panel will feature Tara O'Keefe, MA, LCADC, RDT, CTP, Addictions Counselor Supervisor at Stockton University on the topic of "Creative Coping: The Arts and Mental Health."

The First Flight Theatre Company to Hold Auditions for "Night of the Living Dead". (HO-HO-KUS, NJ) -- The First Flight Theatre Company will hold auditions for Night of the Living Dead by Lori Allen Ohm from the film by George Romero and John Russo at the Hermitage on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Auditions take place between noon and 3:30pm.

Thursday, August 28 - Sip, Savor & Meet a Hip-Hop Legend at Old York Cellars. (RINGOES, NJ) -- Old York Cellars is turning up the volume in New Jersey's wine country with an unforgettable night of wine, food, and hip-hop history. On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the winery will host the exclusive release of the 2023 King DMC Reserve Wines with a live appearance by Darryl DMC McDaniels, legendary founding member of Run-DMC and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
