State Theatre New Jersey presents "Come From Away" (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents the Broadway musical, Come From Away from January 5-7, 2024. This musical tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships. On September 11, 2001, the world stopped. On September 12, their stories moved us all.
Audition Registration Now Open for Paper Mill Playhouse's Summer Musical Theater Conservatory (MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse will hold auditions for students to be a part of its prestigious Summer Musical Theater Conservatory and Musical Theater Technique Intensive for 2024 on Saturday, January 20, and Sunday, January 28, at Paper Mill Studios, 20 Main Street, Millburn, NJ. Students who earn a place in the July Conservatory in the Senior (ages 15–18), Junior Plus (ages 13–14), and Junior (ages 10-12) companies are directed and choreographed by Paper Mill's professional artistic staff in a fully produced, original concert at Paper Mill Playhouse on July 26 and 27, 2024, titled New Voices of 2024: Endless Ovations Celebrating the Regional Theater's 85 Seasons! The concert is the culmination of the five-week program.
"Having Our Say" – A Celebration of Age and Memories George Street Playhouse closes out 2023 with a beautiful show. Having Our Say is based on the true story of two African-American sisters, Sadie and Bessie Delany, both of whom lived past the golden age of 100.

Newark Seeks Experienced Contractors, Developers, Nonprofits for Major New Housing Initiative (NEWARK, NJ) -- On December 14, 2023, Mayor Ras J. Baraka announced that the City of Newark has issued a Solicitation for Proposals to enable it to choose experienced contractors, developers, and non-profits to participate in a major new equitable growth housing initiative. The initiative will help increase affordability and build wealth through creating or renovating multi-family buildings and homes that residents can own. It will also expand opportunities for Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) developers and contractors, and provide jobs and job training for Newark residents.
