Audiences experience the tears and laughter of It's a Wonderful Life performed live, along with the novelty of seeing the backstage mechanics of an old-time radio broadcast.
East Lynne Theater Company presents "The Death of Sherlock Holmes?" radio-style production (CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Before streaming and podcasts, even before TV, there was radio, which delighted families across the country with shows such as "The Shadow," "The Lone Ranger" and Orson Welles' "The Mercury Theatre on the Air." Actors would read their parts live in a studio, while sound effects would paint a picture of the scene and mood for the listeners, helping to immerse them into a world they could see using just their imaginations.

Vibraphonist Chuck Redd and Pianist John di Martino to Perform at November New Jersey Jazz Society Concert in Madison (MADISON, NJ) -- In his review of vibraphonist Chuck Redd's 2019 Dalphine Records album, Groove City, Dan Bilawsky of AllAboutJazz wrote that "one of the standout moments comes in balladic form with (Billy Strayhorn's) 'A Flower Is a Lovesome Thing'. Redd and (John) di Martino, sans rhythm section, dim the lights, and capture the essence of beauty in less than three minutes. It's the type of performance that passes quickly yet hangs in the air. It's but one of many examples of how Chuck Redd lives atop and within a song."
