Centenary Stage Company presents Disney's "The Little Mermaid"
 

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- This holiday season, Centenary Stage Company presents Disney's The Little Mermaid from November 24 – December 10, 2023 in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center of the Centenary University campus at 715 Grand Avenue, Hackettstown, NJ. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages.

 



Surflight Theatre presents "Popcorn Falls"
 

(BEACH HAVEN, NJ) -- Surflight Theatre continues their 2023 Season with the energetic romp full of impressions, wit, and charm, Popcorn Falls, from September 27 through October 1, 2023. Welcome to Popcorn Falls, a small American town whose only claim to fame-their namesake waterfall-has dried up. Now bankrupt, their last chance is a large grant that can only be used if the town produces a play in a week.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band's Remaining 2023 Tour Dates Postponed Until 2024
 

Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor's advice. With this in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, all remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024.

Bill Mays Trio to Perform Tunes from Newest Album at Jersey Jazz LIVE! Concert in Madison
 

(MADISON, NJ) -- Pianist Bill Mays has recorded 40 albums as a leader, but his newest, Autumn Serenade, released in May on the Sunnyside label, may be his favorite. And, it reunited him with the other two members of a trio that played with baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan in the 1980s – bassist Dean Johnson and drummer Ron Vincent.

McCarter Theatre presents Fatoumata Diawara
 

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- On Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 8:00pm, McCarter Theatre presents Grammy-nominated Malian singer, songwriter, guitarist and actress Fatoumata Diawara. She is a rarity among Malian singers, wielding her electric guitar to write songs that blend Wassoulou folk music, spiritually centered Afropop, and desert blues. Singing mostly in Bambara, the national language of Mali, Diawara sings about migration, African identity, motherhood, and the struggle of African women.

Visual Arts Center of New Jersey Receives Grant from New Jersey State Council on the Arts
 

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) was recently awarded a grant by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts (NJSCA) as part of more than $30 million in grants awarded throughout the state. VACNJ was one of approximately 900 arts organizations, projects, and artists to receive an award. This general support grant in the amount of $150,976 will provide support for VACNJ in various forms, including general and administrative costs and funding for programs, salaries, facilities, and capital improvements.

Old City Fest Returns for 8th Year to Celebrate Arts and Design, Food and Fashion, Creativity and Culture
 

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Old City District presents the eighth annual Old City Fest on Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 11:00am to 6:00pm, along N. 3rd Street (from Market to Race) and Arch Street (from 2nd to 4th). Activities will include the Family Fun Zone presented by WSFS Bank, the Main Stage presented by City Winery, live music, artists, pop-up street performances, and a wide array of food, beverages, craft and retail shopping, with 100+ vendors participating.
