First Avenue Playhouse presents "On Golden Pond"
 

(ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ) -- First Avenue Playhouse presents On Golden Pond weekends throughout July with opening night on July 8, 2023. The play by Ernest Thompson is a classic and poignant family story that is both humorous and touching. Armand Marino directs the production.

 



Algonquin Arts Theatre presents "Avenue Q"
 

(MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Algonquin Arts Theatre presents the musical, Avenue Q from August 12-20, 2023. Winner of the Tony Triple Crown for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book, this laugh-out-loud musical - featuring actors and puppets - tells the story of a recent college grad named Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood, which is a racy, adults-only cross between South Park and Sesame Street.

Light Opera of New Jersey to Launch Opera for All initiative with $10,000 Grant From NEA
 

​​​​​​​(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- Light Opera of New Jersey (LONJ) has announced it has been awarded a Challenge America grant of $10,000 by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to launch their Opera for All initiative. The grant supports LONJ's new initiative to provide 10% of their total tickets at no cost to traditionally underserved communities in Central and Northern New Jersey. It will enable them to diversify their audience with a dedicated effort to remove the price barrier for those who may otherwise be unable to attend. This grant is one of 262 Challenge America awards totaling $2.62 million that were announced by the NEA as part of its first round of fiscal year 2023 grants.

Princeton University Organist, Eric Plutz, to Perform in Ocean Grove
 

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Princeton University Organist Eric Plutz will kick off the guest organist recital series at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove on Wednesday, July 12 at 7:30pm. This is a free concert. The Great Auditorium is located at Pilgrim and Ocean Pathways. All facilities are handicapped accessible.

 



Ocean Casino Resort presents Emo Orchestra featuring Hawthorne Heights
 

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Ocean Casino Resort presents Emo Orchestra, featuring Hawthorne Heights, on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 8:00pm. The concert takes place in Ovation Hall. For emo music lovers and orchestra aficionados alike, Emo Orchestra is a new live experience that brings some of the most beloved emo songs of your youth to the theater stage with a full orchestra arrangement. Along with special guest Hawthorne Heights, the orchestra will elevate songs from bands such as Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, and Dashboard Confessional in a way never done before. Just days after the New Jersey Assembly and Senate voted to add the Central Jersey region to the official New Jersey state tourism map, a new ‘Central Jersey Exists’ series of wines were unveiled from Old York Cellars.

Trenton City Museum to Host Two-Part Lecture Series by Award-winning Author and Presidential Historian Louis L. Picone
 

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie will host a two-part Saturday afternoon lecture series by award-winning author and presidential historian Louis Picone July 8 and July 15. Both programs will be from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and will include a Q&A and a book signing reception. Trenton City Museum is in historic Cadwalader Park, accessed by car from Parkside Ave. It offers plenty of building-adjacent parking.
