The story of vocalist, guitarist, and pianist Melody Gardot is remarkable; she’s persevered against abject adversity throughout her life. Blessed with a beautiful alto voice and grand insight as a songwriter, Gardot overcame a life-threatening bicycle accident early in her career.

Tuesday, June 13, 2023 - Princeton Festival Weeknights I: June 13-15. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- There is plenty of music, improvisational hilarity, and romance filling the first round of weeknight performances at this year's 2023 Princeton Festival, which takes place June 9-25. Two concerts, one featuring The Claremont Trio, the other, the guitar and cello duo Boyd Meets Girl, bookend Broadway's Next Hit Musical, a musical comedy improv show.

Friday, June 16, 2023 - Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series presents Matt Nakoa with The Empty Pockets. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Award-winning songwriter Matt Nakoa will perform on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Folk Project Troubadour series in Morristown, NJ. Also on the bill is The Empty Pockets. Showtime is 7:30pm.

Friday, June 16, 2023 - The Princeton Festival presents "The Barber of Seville" and Performance by Will Liverman. (PRINCETON, NJ) -- At the Princeton Festival on June 16, 18, and 20, opera newbies and aficionados alike will relish an all-new production of Gioachino Rossini's comedic showpiece The Barber of Seville. Rossini's opera, with libretto by Cesare Sterbini, premiered in Rome, Italy in 1816, and has since become one of the most frequently performed operas worldwide. An opera buffa masterpiece, The Barber of Seville offers superbly comical situations with elaborate disguises, outrageous bribery, close shaves, and captivating characters. Performances take place at the Festival’s outdoor performance pavilion on the grounds of Morven Museum & Garden.

Friday, June 16, 2023 - Melissa Aldana Will Preview Music from Her Next Blue Note Album on June 16th at McCarter Theatre. When tenor saxophonist Melissa Aldana leads a quartet on Friday, June 16 as part of the McCarter Theatre Jazz in June series, the program will be "a mix of some old things and some new things, and some things we didn't even record."

Saturday, June 17, 2023 - State Theatre New Jersey presents The Fab Faux. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents The Fab Faux on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 8:00pm. Performing an evening of The Beatles greatest hits, The Fab Faux will be joined on stage by The Hogshead Horns (with Blues Brothers, Blood, Sweat & Tears and Saturday Night Live band alums) and The Creme Tangerine Strings. Tickets range from $49-$99.

Thursday, June 15, 2023 - Springsteen Archives and Transparent Gallery Present Warren Zanes Book Event. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University in collaboration with Transparent Clinch Gallery are presenting a book signing event with Warren Zanes on June 15, 2023 at the gallery. Zanes, author, musician, and professor, will be discussing his new book, Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska, among other topics, with Danny Clinch.

Friday, June 16, 2023 - Demi Lovato to Perform on Stone Pony Summer Stage as part of North to Shore Music Festival. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- North to Shore Music Festival presents vocal powerhouse Demi Lovato on the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park on Friday, June 16th at 6:00pm.

Friday, June 16, 2023 - Asbury Park Music Foundation Announces Two Free Shows on The Boardwalk (June 16-17). (ASBURY PARK, NJ) – The nonprofit Asbury Park Music Foundation (APMF) has announced two free shows on Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17 in partnership with The Break and Low Dive, the boardwalk's newest tenants. The Break (formerly Langosta Lounge) and Low Dive (formerly APYC) have been magnets for live music, and the new era continues that tradition. These shows will celebrate the diversity of Asbury Park music past and present, while paving the way for young artists to continue personifying Asbury Park in the future.

Friday, June 16, 2023 - New Jersey Youth Symphony Joins Korea Blind Performance Group and Bella Music Foundation at Merkin Hall. (NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ) -- The New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS) will perform in the captivating concert "Darkness to Light: Hanbit Trio J," presented in collaboration by Korea Blind Performance Group and Bella Music Foundation on Friday, June 16 at 8:00pm at the Kaufman Music Center's Merkin Hall in New York City.

Saturday, June 17, 2023 - Springsteen Archives Presents Hip Hop Program in Asbury Park during North To Shore Music Festival. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University will present Hip Hop in the Round at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Monmouth County on Saturday, June 17, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, as part of the statewide North to Shore festival.

Saturday, June 17, 2023 - Axelrod PAC presents Jeremy Jordan and Ashley Spencer. (DEAL PARK, NJ) -- Broadway’s Jeremy Jordan, best known for his portrayal of Jack Kelly in Disney’s Newsies, will make his debut at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal Park on Saturday, June 17. Jordan will perform a concert along with his wife, Ashley Spencer (Grease, Rock of Ages). The couple married in 2012.  Showtime is 8:00pm.

Saturday, June 17, 2023 - Washington Borough's Sustainably Green Music & Arts Fest Kicks off Farmers Market Season on June 17th. (WASHINGTON, NJ) -- Washington Borough has been recognized as one of the greenest communities in New Jersey. In celebration of that designation, and as a kick off to its award-winning weekly farmers market, the Washington Business Improvement District and the Washington Borough Green Team are partnering up for the Annual Sustainably Green Music & Arts Fest on Saturday June 17, 2023 in Downtown Washington.
