(WEST HUDSON, NJ) -- The West Hudson Arts & Theater Company (WHATCo) and Teaneck New Theater, in association with The Hackensack Performing Arts Center are proud to announce open auditions for their Shakespeare productions scheduled for this summer.

(WEEHAWKEN, NJ) -- Hudson Theatre Works presents Shelley by Joanne Hoersch from May 4-21, 2023 at Theatre at The Wilson School in Weehawken. Hudson Theatre Works continues its commitment to producing one new play a year. Coming from the company’s workshop, “Shelley” takes place in 1814.

 



State Theatre New Jersey 2023-24 Broadway Season Preview
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey has announced its 2023-24 Broadway Season, featuring eight fantastic shows. The 2023-24 Season includes Tony® Award-winning hits, Broadway fan favorites, and multiple State Theatre debuts. Season tickets for the 2023-24 Broadway Series are now on sale.

 



LoMotion Live presents a reading of "Goblins & Gates" a New Musical
 

(BOONTON, NJ) -- LoMotion Live will present a reading of Goblins & Gates: A Pen & Paper Musical - a a brand new and completely original show in development with libretto by Michael Campbell and music/lyrics by Gonzalo Valencia-Peña - on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 3:00pm. The reading takes place at The Parsippany Arts Center. Admission is free with a donations suggested.

East Lynne Theater Company announces 2023 mainstage season
 

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- It's a whole new mainstage season at East Lynne Theater Company (ELTC) in Cape May. Heck, it's practically a whole new East Lynne! The theater's new Artistic Director Craig Fols is breathing new life into this glorious 40+ year-old theatre located within the walls of the beautiful Cape May Presbyterian Church. Get ready for the 2023 Mainstage Season of ELTC, which includes a world premiere and two well-known favorites: "A Tale of Two Cities Cobbled Together by the Brothers Lovejoy", written and directed by Fols; "Driving Miss Daisy" by Alfred Uhry; and A.R. Gurney's "Love Letters".

 



Vicki Lewis and John Scherer to Star in "The Prom" at Axelrod PAC
 

(DEAL PARK, NJ) -- The Axelrod Performing Arts Center will mount New Jersey's first professional production of the Broadway musical, The Prom, beginning on May 5 and running through May 21. This new production is directed by Broadway actor and director Todd Buonopane (Broadway's Spelling Bee, Grease, Chicago and Cinderella) and choreographed by Brooke Engen (Hairspray the film) with music direction by Michael Gilch.

Broadway Star N'Kenge to Host Benefit for the Youth Foundation of Jersey City
 

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Tony, Grammy, and Emmy-nominated vocalist N'Kenge will bring her talents from Broadway to Jersey City for a good cause. On May 3, she will host the second annual "A Night of Broadway," a benefit concert featuring artists based in Jersey City, to support the Youth Foundation of Jersey City. The Lakehouse Block Party to Take Place May 20th in Asbury Park
 

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Lakehouse Block Party will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from noon to 7:00pm. The event features an incredible lineup of both emerging and longtime performers in the local music scene and some amazing local vendors and food trucks, including an exclusive Asbury Park Brewery Beer Garden. Proceeds from this event will support the nonprofit Asbury Park Music Foundation.

 



Two Iconic Tributes Coming to the Sieminski Theater: Swinging with the Rat Pack and The Jersey Four and Johnny Maestro's 16 Candles
 

(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- Two spectacular tribute concerts that will transport audiences to the golden era of American Rock and Roll and swing music will be featured in June at the Sieminski Theater in Basking Ridge, located on the campus of Fellowship Village. The first show, Swinging with the Rat Pack on June 1 at 7:30pm, is a musical celebration that re-creates the magic of The Rat Pack, featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. The second show The Jersey Four and Johnny's Maestro's 16 Candles, on June 10 at 2:30pm & 7:30pm, pays homage to two American Rock and Roll icons, The Four Seasons and Johnny Maestro. The shows are presented and produced by Gene DiNapoli.

 



The HillBenders to Present "WhoGrass" at Grunin Center on April 28th
 

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Award-winning bluegrass meets classic rock in one unique, unforgettable show when The HillBenders present "WhoGrass" on Friday, April 28 at The Grunin Center for the Arts. Plainfield Symphony To Close Out 103rd Season With "Tchaikovsky Festival"
 

(PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- The Plainfield Symphony will close out their 103rd season on Saturday, April 29 at 7:00pm with "Tchaikovsky Festival" under the baton of Maestro Charles Prince. Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky is one of the most famous Russian composers; the first with an enduring international reputation. He is particularly well-known for his ballets, piano concertos, and five symphonies. The Plainfield Symphony will be performing two of his orchestral gems. The concert takes place at Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church.

 



Voices in Harmony Showcase for Students with Special Needs Returns to bergenPAC for the First Time in Three Years
 

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- After a three-year hiatus, The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC is excited to announce the return of Voices in Harmony – an awe-inspiring celebration on the bergenPAC stage featuring singers, musicians and dancers from schools serving students with special needs performing. The production will be on Sunday, May 7 at 3:00pm. This will be the fourth rendition of the show after the pandemic forced a pause and include students from private and public schools across the region. The public is invited to attend.

State Theatre New Jersey Announces 2023 Free Summer Movies Series
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The fully renovated State Theatre New Jersey is proud to announce the return of the Free Summer Movies Series. Movies featured in the 2023 series include Moana on July 11, Minions: The Rise of Gru on July 18, Soul on July 25, The LEGO Batman Movie on August 8, and Into the Woods on August 15. Tickets are FREE, but registration is required. Groups of 15 or more or those planning a bus trip, must email educationatstnj.org to register.

Studio Montclair presents "Viewpoints"
 

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- “Studio Montclair's annual exhibition ViewPoints does not disappoint. With over 70 artists and artworks selected from hundreds of talented entries, a high level of skill and innovation is on display. The works in the exhibition are merely a slice of the vast ways artists are telling the story of what it means to be human in the 21st century. Primarily told through painting, photography, and collage, they cover themes of nature, transformation, joy, and death. Replete with skill and exciting techniques, this was a difficult group of works to jury.

Marine Field Station Recommended for $1.4 Million Marine Debris Removal Grant
 

(GALLOWAY, NJ) --The $1 trillion federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has funded more than 20,000 projects throughout the country. Now, a piece of the bill is coming to Stockton University to clean local waterways. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced on Friday, April 21, 2023 that Stockton is recommended for an award of $1.4 million for marine debris removal. With an additional $300,000 matching grant from Stockton, the grant’s total exceeds $1.7 million.
