A Look Back into African American History and Luck in Life, Good and Bad Alice Childress wrote plays, books and newspaper columns for more than 40 years and is considered one of the premier chroniclers on African American backstories, tales buried by time but tales priceless and emotion wrenching still. Bonnie Monte, executive director of the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, is always looking for unapplauded work and found two of Childress plays, Florence and Mojo, and combined them for a duo of plays. They opened last weekend at the theater, housed at Drew University, in Madison.
Burlington County Footlighters presents "Other Desert Cities" (CINNAMINSON, NJ) -- Burlington County Footlighters continues its 2022-23 season with the fiercely funny but dark family drama, Other Desert Cities. The Jon Robin Baitz penned play was a Pulitzer finalist in 2012. BCF Artistic Director Alan Krier directs the production which runs November 4 through November 19.

Yardley Players present "Come Blow Your Horn" at Kelsey Theatre (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Yardley Players will present Neil Simon’s hilarious, semi-autobiographical comedy “Come Blow Your Horn” at Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre. The show runs weekends from November 4-13. Kelsey Theatre will be accepting new, unwrapped toy donations in the lobby for the annual Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" gift drive.
Kyiv’s National Academic Theater of Lesya Ukrainka Comes to Jersey City (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Kyiv’s National Academic Theater of Lesya Ukrainka is heading to Jersey City to present “On the Field of Blood” on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5 at 7:30pm. Taking place at Jersey City Theater Center, this poetic drama depicts Judas’s journey, from disciple to betrayer of Jesus. The play, written by Ukrainian playwright Lesya Ukrainka in 1909, presents the story from the perspective of Judas and follows how a divine love disintegrates into ultimate betrayal.
