Rich Lynch releases "You Might Hear A Heart"

originally published: 10/28/2022

(NASHVILLE, TN) -- Nashville based musician Rockin' Rich Lynch returns with another solid track called "You Might Hear a Heart" that echoes with the stylings of one of his own musical heroes - the one and only Tom Petty.

"For years people have told me that I remind them of Tom Petty and I take that as the highest compliment," Lynch said of the musical giant from Gainesville, Florida who sadly passed away in 2017. "Petty was one of my biggest influences and I've had the honor of seeing him in concert many times going all the way back to the early 80's."

"But, I've never really tried to write a song that sounded like him," Lynch added. "Actually, I didn't this time either but the song title and subject matter just seemed to lead us in that direction."

Lynch said that the influence of another Nashville-based musical genre also played a significant role in the 3 minute and 46 second song.

"I've been fascinated by the repetitive nature of worship music and the sheer simplicity of the words that convey a much more complex and meaningful message," Lynch suggested. "So, I also wanted to try my hand at that to create a track where the words are reinforced to help them really sink in."

Lynch brought a fairly straight-forward double-verse, one line chorus song sheet to the familiar confines of Record One studios in Nashville where producer Dallas Jack once again supplied the mixing magic to help create a radio ready offering.

"Some fans have asked me why this is such a simple song when they have come to expect a lyrical content from me that usually goes deeper," Lynch continued. "But I kind of disagree with them. This is another track born out of the recent times with a theme of fighting back against all of the distrust in the world with hope ultimately overcoming sadness. You just have to listen real hard to hear it!"

Lynch feels that "You Might Hear a Heart" is such a career-defining moment for him that he has just compiled all of his best songs from the past seven years into a Spotify playlist of the same name. He asks that you stream, share and add songs to your playlists from his own online.

Rich Lynch is a singer/songwriter who began his professional recording career in 2014 with "I Want to Live in a Dome". The NJ native has now released well over 30 critically acclaimed digital singles to the online marketplace and he is currently hard at work in Nashville on several new tracks that will see the light of day in the near future.
