1) 15th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival to Take Place Across Two Weekends - (NEWARK, NJ) -- Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District (LPCCD) has announced that the official 15th Anniversary of the annual music festival will return over two weekends from July 27-31 and August 5-7 with broad array of musical genres including Gospel, House, Hip-Hop, Soulful Alternative/Mash Up, Reggae, Dancehall sounds and of the Latinx/Hispanic Caribbean diaspora.

The group’s performance tonight is the second in the resort town’s Seaside Heights Live series of summer concerts which premiered on June 25 with the Grateful Dead tribute band, Dark Star Orchestra.

4) The Discovery Orchestra To Record Concert For National Public Television Special - (SUMMIT, NJ) -- Led by Founder and Artistic Director George Marriner Maull, The Discovery Orchestra makes a welcome return to the concert stage after a pandemic break for an exploration of French composer Camille Saint-Saëns epic masterwork Symphony No. 3 in C Minor (the “Organ” Symphony). The Summit, New Jersey-based orchestra, which has introduced millions around the world to the joys of listening to classical music, is offering free tickets to individuals and groups to the Sunday, September 18, concert, which will be taped for broadcast for its sixth national public television special. Featuring a 90-piece orchestra and taped at the Hauser Auditorium at the Pingry School in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Discover Saint-Saëns’ “Organ” Symphony is projected to begin a three-year national distribution by American Public Television in May 2023.

5) Plays-in-the-Park returns for their 60th season to Middlesex County this summer with three popular Broadway musicals - (EDISON, NJ) -- Middlesex County’s Plays-in-the-Park is returning to the stage this summer, with performances of Something Rotten!, The SpongeBob Musical, and A Chorus Line at the Stephen J. Capestro Theatre in Edison, part of Plays-in-the-Park’s 60th season.

7) New Jersey Community Capital Awarded $928,000 for Revitalization of Historic East Trenton Library Community Center - (TRENTON, NJ) -- New Jersey Community Capital (NJCC),  New Jersey’s largest community development financial institution (CDFI), was awarded $928,863 in Community Capital Needs funds through the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ (DCA) Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Program (NRTC). NJCC will utilize the funding to complete the Phase I rehabilitation of the East Trenton Library Community Center. Once completed, the East Trenton Library Community Center will host community programs focused on job readiness, adult education, employment training, and entrepreneurial training among others, run by the City of Trenton, the East Trenton Collaborative (ETC), and other partners.

8) NJPAC presents Fantasia with Special Guest Jazzmeia Horn - (NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents Grammy-winning R&B superstar Fantasia with special guest and winner of NJPAC’s Sarah Vaughan International Competition Jazzmeia Horn to the big stage on Thursday, November 10 at 8:00pm.

9) Separate Ways the Band LIVE! in Seaside Heights - It’s somewhat misty on the beach in Seaside Heights, NJ this Thursday, July 7, 2022, as music lovers ready themselves for a concert by the Journey tribute artists, Separate Ways the Band. The group’s performance is part of the Jersey Shore resort’s 2022 line-up of free summer concerts scheduled on Monday and Thursday nights throughout the months of July and August.

10) Billy Wilkins LIVE! on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk - On the world-famous boardwalk in Seaside Heights, NJ this Monday, July 11, 2022 evening, visitors stroll the boards enjoying ice cream, pizza, and other treats. Others play games of chance, shop in stores which offer everything from salt water taffy to T-shirts, and enjoy amusement rides designed for adventurers of all ages.

11) Paper Mill Playhouse Announces 2022-2023 Season - (MILLBURN, NJ) -- Paper Mill Playhouse has announced its 2022-2023 season, including a gripping murder mystery, a Disney hero of mythic proportions, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved final musical, the Tony-nominated story of two Latin music icons, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical that defined a generation.

12) The Weeknd's After Hours Til Dawn Stadium Tour: A Wild Excursion Into the Unknown - On July 16, 2022, The Weeknd performed at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.  The show was opened by Mike Dean and Kaytranada.  Jennifer Petrics was there to cover the show and take photos.

13) Passaic County presents a Larry Doby Talk and Documentary - (PATERSON, NJ) -- In celebration of New Jersey Day (Wednesday, July 27), the County of Passaic, in partnership with Passaic County Community College, will present a talk and documentary film about the life of Baseball Hall of Famer Larry Doby at the college. Doby followed Jackie Robinson, a mere 11 weeks, to become the second African American in Major League Baseball. Admission is free.

14) A Look at the 2022 Monmouth County Fair - (FREEHOLD, NJ) -- The best part of summer is almost here!  The Monmouth County Fair opens on Wednesday, July 27 and runs through Sunday, July 31. Held at East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold, this annual event is presented by the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners in cooperation with the Monmouth County Park System and the Monmouth County 4-H Association.  Brimming with excitement, the Fair features opening night fireworks (weather permitting), rides, live entertainment, Home and Garden Competitions, 4-H shows and exhibits, and more.   

15) RVCC Professor Receives Grant for Children's Book - (BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Lisa Michelle Tucker of Whitehouse Station, Raritan Valley Community College Professor of English, has received a Special Projects Grant from the Hunterdon County Cultural and Heritage Commission for her upcoming children’s picture book, Chessie Dentley Educates Mr. Ashbee.
