Princeton University Library presents largest U.S. retrospective of the work of Ulises Carrión to date

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton University Library (PUL) presents "Ulises Carrión: Bookworks and Beyond," the spring exhibition in the Ellen and Leonard Milberg Gallery at Firestone Library. Curated by Sal Hamerman, Metadata Librarian for Special Collections at PUL, and Javier Rivero Ramos, a recent Ph.D graduate from the Department of Art & Archaeology, who is now Assistant Curator at Art Bridges Foundation in Arkansas, the exhibition opens on February 21, 2024 and runs through June 13, 2024.

Artist Jacoub Reyes' Culturally Rich Solo Exhibition Opens at Kean University

(UNION, NJ) -- Artist Jacoub Reyes recently unveiled his site-specific art installation, Esconderte del mundo y en ti mismo esconderte, meaning "hide from the world and hide in yourself," at Kean University. A brilliant transformation of space, Reyes delivers an experience steeped in the history of Puerto Rico's sugar plantation system.

Ocean County Library Toms River Branch to Display Rob Henne's Digital & Traditional Art

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- A New Jerey artist equally conversant in digital art and oils on canvas will display both at the Ocean County Library Toms River Branch. Rob Henne's dual exhibit will be on view Wednesday, May 1 through Friday, June 21, 2024.

Montclair Art Museum presents "Century: 100 Years of Black Art at MAM"

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The Montclair Art Museum (MAM) presents its landmark exhibition, Century: 100 Years of Black Art at MAM from February 9 to June 23, 2024. With over 70 works in various mediums by 59 ground breaking artists, Century is the largest and most comprehensive show of its kind at MAM, underscoring a longtime commitment since the 1940s to the curation and appreciation of artworks by Black artists. Curated by Adrienne L. Childs and nico w.okoro, Century is complemented by a fully illustrated catalogue featuring multiple essays that offer insightful explorations of the rich historical and cultural context of Black art. The exhibition has been coordinated at MAM by Chief Curator Gail Stavitsky.

Exhibit from Student Recovering from Brain Injury Among New Displays at Arts Garage

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Three unique exhibits — including one by a Stockton University student recovering from a traumatic brain injury and another by a self-taught, Philadelphia-area artist known for creating large-scale sculptures — debuted recently at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University.

Oyster Point Gallery presents Works by Joseph Iorio, Zee Cordero, Jane Kleiman, and Mark Harari

(RED BANK, NJ) -- In an exciting first, The Oyster Point Gallery will present four exhibitions in its gallery spaces. Joseph Iorio's inaugural solo exhibition, "Structural Abstractions," will be on the first floor. Zee Cordero's Pop paintings will be on the second floor. Jane Kleiman's sculptural ceramics and Mark Harari's luminescent transparencies will be shown in the Atrium.

Zimmerli presents George Segal: Themes and Variations

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Marking the centennial of George Segal's birth in 1924, the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers—New Brunswick welcomes visitors to experience more than 60 works: some familiar, others rarely seen. The exhibition highlights not only the breadth of Segal's work, but also the people and the state that helped to shape his career. George Segal: Themes and Variations is on view from January 24 to July 31, 2024.

American Theater Group Announces "Canned Goods" Thursday Talkback Sessions

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- American Theater Group (ATG) will present talkback sessions after the Thursday, May 9th and 16th evening performances of the provocative new play, Canned Goods, by Erik Kahn. The World Premiere production is running May 9-11 at Hamilton Stage in Rahway, NJ and May 16-19 at the Sieminski Theater in Basking Ridge, NJ. Charlotte Cohn is directing the production.
