Our Favorite Stories In Theatre: "Too Heavy For My Pocket" - a play about the civil rights movement

New Jersey Stage published its 25,000th story in December 2021. As the site approached the milestone, we posed the question on social media as how we should celebrate.  One response was to highlight our favorite stories from over the years.  We liked this idea, but could not narrow things down to just 25 favorites so we will present a favorite each day from different genres.  Every Tuesday we feature one of our favorite stories in theatre. This week's choice is a feature on "Too Heavy For My Pocket" - a play about the civil rights movement at George Street.

Review: "Clue" at Paper Mill Playhouse

by Adam F. Cohen
published 2022-02-03

Clue, the mystery boardgame of my youth, has been wonderfully, intelligently and hysterically been brought to the stage of the Paper Mill Playhouse.  It’s no mystery why this deftly directed and designed production is so entertaining.  Every aspect of the show is well done and deserves praise.  Do not pass, go directly to papermill.org and book tickets.  The production runs through February 20, 2022.

Since today is the start of Black History Month, we are featuring an interview with Ricardo Khan on the play Freedom Rider.

Our Favorite Stories In Theatre - Las Cruces

New Jersey Stage published its 25,000th story in December 2021. As the site approached the milestone, we posed the question on social media as how we should celebrate.  One response was to highlight our favorite stories from over the years.  We liked this idea, but could not narrow things down to just 25 favorites so we will present a favorite each day from different genres.  Every Tuesday we feature one of our favorite stories in theatre.  We've been fortunate to see a lot of wonderful theatre in the Garden State. This week's choice is an interview with Vincent Delaney, the playwright behind Las Cruces - one of the most interesting plays we've seen over the years.
