A handful of Montclair State University professors really rock. Quite literally. When they're not teaching, conducting research or fulfilling other professorial – or in the case of one, department head – duties, they're playing in their respective bands and entertaining crowds.




 

Zimmerli Art Museum Celebrates a Vanguard Art Center

An enormous banner heralding the exhibition The Brodsky Center at Rutgers University: Three Decades 1986-2017 hangs from the façade of the Zimmerli Art Museum on the Rutgers campus in New Brunswick, as if announcing a major homecoming. The gang's all here: Faith Ringgold, Miriam Schapiro, Carolee Schneemann, Joan Semmel, Joan Snyder, Willie Cole, Emma Amos, and so many other major artists who spent time at the renowned print and papermaking center.

"I did an acoustic thing and I won last year and the year before that I won the "Album Of The Year" in the blues category. So, we've been blessed to be in the running six or eight times and we've won two of them and hopefully this will put us in the ball game for a nomination if not a win," states best described as legendary blues man Bobby Rush as he discusses his new album, "All My Love For You," how he got interested in blues music and more.
