By popular demand, Purple Swans returns to UCPAC’s Main Stage this fall, following the success of “Journey to Shangri-La” (2016) and “Dancing under the Harvest Moon” (2019). Through its three charity performances in 2016, 2019, and 2022, Purple Swans has raised nearly $30,000 in support of the Mental Health Association in New Jersey, with a focus on Youth Mental Health First Aid. This year’s performance is Purple Swans: “Let the Heart Dance”.
This all-new production offers a dazzling blend of classical and indigenous Chinese dance with global traditions. Audiences will be immersed in a rich tapestry of culture and artistry, where Eastern legacies meet Western creativity to spark new possibilities on stage.
Purple Swans is a New Jersey based nonprofit dedicated to creating cultural bridges and promoting dialogue through the performing arts. Each performance celebrates the beauty of uniting East and West, while giving back to the community.
All net proceeds from this event will once again be donated to the Mental Health Association in New Jersey to support those seeking mental health assistance.
