Morristown Festival of Books Keynote Fundraiser Event – The Fate of the Day: An Evening with Rick Atkinson
Friday, October 10, 2025 @ 7:30pm

Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC)
100 South Street, Morristown, NJ 07960

On the eve of America’s 250th anniversary, join us in Morristown as we welcome Rick Atkinson, two-time Pulitzer Prize–winning historian, as our 2025 Keynote Speaker. Atkinson will discuss his #1 New York Times best seller, THE FATE OF THE DAY: The War for America, Fort Ticonderoga to Charleston, 1777-1780, bringing to life the sweeping story of the American Revolution from the very ground where key moments unfolded.
In the second volume of Atkinson’s landmark American Revolution Trilogy, George Washington’s army fights on the knife-edge between victory and defeat. The book captures the pivotal middle years of the war, from the disintegration of the Continental Army at Fort Ticonderoga to the stunning American victory at Saratoga. As we approach the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Atkinson’s work resonates more than ever. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from one of the foremost voices in historical scholarship today.
